AMERICAblog: Outrageous Norm Coleman stunt (involving Paul Wellstone)

  • Bostonian_Queer_in_Dallas · 1 year ago
    Good god.

They ain't got NUTHIN. The Republican Party, or should I say the LATE Republican Party, has nothing this year other than stupid video editing tricks like this...Caribou Barbie aka Hitler in Heels...and a bunch of crap that LOOSELY ties Obama to some people who used to be outside the mainstream. How has all that Reagan "morning in America" shit worked out for ya, America? Thirty years they got to destroy the nation. I'd say "Mission Accomplished." Rather have a beer with Normy? careful...the beer is really piss.

didn't that asshat say he was pulling all his negative ads??? Guess he's just another run of the mill republican liar.
  • An_American_Karol · 1 year ago
Good for Frankin. By coming out quickly and dispelling Coleman's dirty tricks, Al shows Coleman for a sleazy politician...more Republican slight of hands. Go, Al.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
Coleman is my Rick Santorum this year.

If Franken takes him, I'll be doing the happy dance.
  • Ruttle · 1 year ago
Glad Franken got on that right away. BQiD is right - Coleman (and the R's) have got nothing. Nothing.

Let's see... In the conservative mind, Al Franken is "Just a comedian", yet he's dangerously angry too....

To me, that sounds like Dennis Miller. But then again, I am not burdened by a conservative mind.

What happened to the pledge to pull all negative ads???

    OT:

Palin's dropping the first puck at the Philadelphia Flyers game tonight--she was invited by the team's Wingnut owner.

Keystone Progress plans to pass out these "trading cards" in protest.

I wonder how many minutes one would get in the penalty box for "high-sticking" her on a face-off? ;-) Oh come on, it's a joke.

    Hi folks.

Hey, does anyone have a link to the videos? I can't pull them up on my work computer? Thanks.

Just sent this to the Flyers:

just learned that Sarah Palin is dropping the puck tonight, 10/11/08. Is this true? Also, will there be an upcoming game in which Senator Biden will drop the puck? I certainly hope so, as I'd hate to see my Flyers involved in national politics.

    You guys think boos?
How about in true hockey format, a hockey-rhythmed chant: F*ck-you-Pa-lin ::clap clap clap clap clap:: F*ck-you-Palin ::clap clap clap clap clap:

    the major:
@doubleh I agree I dont care if you are the pope if I don't like you I am going to boo you. just because shes a hockey mom and running for vice president doesn't mean I am not a fan for booing her. If I am displeased with you you will hear it from me.

    jasonb:
It's not really a question of IF people will boo. It's more about how long or how loud they'll do so.

Traum - I heard yesterday that this was arranged bc the owner (mngr?) was a huge supporter of McShank and Palin. I wouldn't give it a second thought.

What has been the most surprising to me this season is not the nastiness of the right, we all knew that, but how really, really REALLY bad they are at basic politics. Just pathetic.
  • lynchie · 1 year ago
I posted here the other day that there was nothing else the right could do that would surprise me. Well, I was wrong. This is one of the best examples of denigrating not only Paul Wellstone but Al Franken as well.
What is also evident that the big convention in Denver was nothing more that a party for the rich with hookers, cigars and brandy thrown in. A chance to laugh behind their big fat triple chins, give each other a reach around and tell each other stories when they fought in Viet Nam by way of the National Guard.
God the party has become a nothing. The stand for nothing. The care about Nothing, They don't know about Nothing. They are devoid of any reasonable reason to be actually alive.

Well I gotta go take down the new McCain/Palin signs my neighbor posted. I am going to wrap them up and send them back to the McCain campaign headquarters postage collect.

Ummm, do you mean St. Paul???
  • lynchie · 1 year ago
you are absolutely right. My bad. I will burn the fires of Democratic redemption. The Craig effect had slipped my mind.

I was really getting into the story Al was telling.
It was giving me a good feeling.

Boy, that Coleman sure is a dick.
  • Mickey7 · 1 year ago
So I'm feeling a teensy bit guilty about the overwhelming schadenfreude I'm feeling watching Norm Coleman's political career implode (I think I'll get over it). The day of the Wellstone family's unbelievably tragic deaths, when we realized that Coleman the rat had well and truly won the rat race, was one of the darkest days of my adult life. I still tear up thinking about it. Coleman was an entirely unworthy replacement for Wellstone, as a Senator, as a man and as a human being. It's about time the rest of the country sees that.
  • CitizenX · 1 year ago
    Wow, how slimy.
  • caerbannog · 1 year ago
Anyone dumb enough to serve up Al Franken a softball like that is too stupid to be a senator!
  • henrythefifth · 1 year ago
    Here here!
  • Chris From Maine · 1 year ago
I must say.. it is exciting to see the Republicans so desperate and being revealed for who they really are.

If America survives (which is not a certainty), we might be able to turn it around if enough Republicans crash and burn like Coleman is doing.
  • KISSman · 1 year ago
I've only been a political junkie for about 5 years now so maybe that's why I'm still surprised in how low some politicians will go when it comes to attack ads. A gaffe is one thing, but to take something so far out of context and completely distort it is another. It SHOULD be taken as an insult by the voters since these politicians clearly believe that they are too dumb to ever find the original context or that they would even care about the truth of the matter.
  • vkobaya · 1 year ago
    Tragic!!!! Massively tragic!!!!!

This once was the great, great party of Lincoln.
  • vkobaya · 1 year ago
Makes you feel sorry for Lincoln that he founded this party. They have shamed his name and dragged it through the mud.
  • Butch1 · 1 year ago
I thought Norm said he was going to stop with the mud slinging and dirty Ads?

Typical republican promise, in my opinion.
  • mellowjohn · 1 year ago

I'll enjoy watching that asshole lose, We deserved better than that cheesy punk. There's a loudmouth on KQRS too that I can't wait to hear him whine about Al winning. They way the repug assholes acted after Wellstone died was outrageous.
Check this out, it tells the story of Coleman and KQRS(Tom Bernard) http://weaklyclairvoyant.blogspot.com/2008/07/g...
  • henrythefifth · 1 year ago
That was a great Wellstone story, very touching. Screw Coleman for bastardizing that!
  • ultraducharme · 1 year ago
This was comedy gold. That Coleman guy should have been on Saturday Night Live - because you just can't make up stuff that funny on purpose.
  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
Norm Coleman neds to go back to Idaho.
  • MNUSA · 1 year ago
Coleman isn't fit to carry Wellstone's dirty socks. This just makes me sick.
