AMERICAblog: Over 80% of states reporting job losses

  • DCinDC · 1 year ago
Since her selection as John McCain's running mate, the Republican National Committee spent more than $150,000 on clothing and make-up for Gov. Sarah Palin, her husband, children, and even her infant son, it was reported on Tuesday evening.

That entertaining scoop -- which came by way of Politico --

So it all come down to rewarding who and what!

So think about the following before heading off to the polls this year...

If your child or love one finds themselves failing at something and not willing to except responsibility... you don't reward them do you?

If your co-worker or employee finds themselves failing at something and not willing to except responsibility... you don't reward them do you?

So why should the American people reward the republican party for their failures of the recent past and for the countless lies and half-trues, the party and there candidates have been spurring of late, not to mention the hate mongering and bigotry, that we all can look forward to in the coming weeks?

    So do we reward them?

    HELL NO!

Its time the republican party get its ass kicked for a change!

From what I am hearing from die hard GOP friends and family, this will NOT be a kick in the ass. It will be a funeral for the party for some time to come. I cannot believe the racist bigots I know who are voting for the skinny black guy with funny name. Even THEY are fucking pissed to high heaven about what has happened since 2000. And they ain't too bright, neither.

Chimpy McFlightsuit trashed an oil company, then a baseball team, a state government, and now an entire nation.

How did that work out...the guy you wanted to have that beer with in 2000?

IT TAKES A LOT TO CLEAN UP A TRAILER TRASH FAMILY!

funny if they sent her a bill after the election when they don't need her anymore

I am sorry that we got into it yesterday, John. I really do like Dallas a great deal. It is my new home. Please accept my apology for being quite so nasty to you on here. I was getting teeth pulled and I think the pain killers were eating my brain, what is left of it.
  • JohnInTexas · 1 year ago
No need to apologize! I was pretty nasty myself :)
  • Bostonian_Queer_in_Dallas · 1 year ago
Yes I needed to. Okay, so I am old money Ivy League snotty assed Bostonian
faggot. And I must admit that people here are much nicer to me than anyone
ever was up North. And you are quite correct, all these Yankee transplants
are turning parts of Texas purple, if not blue. Dallas, city, will go Obama,
I am quite sure of it. Anyway, hugs and kisses.

There have been two financially-related suicides in central Florida in the past few months, both high-flying financeers who flew too high. The number of jobless and homeless is growing visibly, and the city moralists are now talking about feeding the poor.

One local minister even allowed himself to be quoted saying, "I don't understand how there can be poverty in the United States." Well, Reverend, meaning no disrespect, but take your head out of your butt and look around.

I tell you, the one thing that bothers me the most about this Financial Collapse is the desperate struggle to refuse accountability among the public decisioneers, advisors, and social commentators. That includes the ministry in all its forms.

I can't even watch MSNBC in the am...they were defending the RNC spending $150K on the Palins (you know, Mike, Mika, Dylan, et al) like it was just de rigeur for a campaign. And tried to insinuate that Obama buys expensive suits (I read that he buys them off the rack at a regular type men's store, further, that Michelle seldom pays more than $100-120 for a dress).

I despise these damn enablers in the MSM--can they be any more venal? I mean, didn't any of them hear Palin's latest faux pas about what the duties of the VP were yesterday? Obviously, those idiots over at MJ don't give a fig for the Constitution, nor that Palin craves power she wouldn't be entitled to, a la Cheney.

And, while I have heard McCain prattle about "jobs" it's always in the context of "tax cuts"--not how the economic policies of his buddy, GWB, have eliminated millions of jobs without having something to offer people who will be out on the street and practically starving. These morons can't go from point A to point B without lying. The Rethugs cut taxes basically for the rich--did they create any net gain in jobs over the last 8 years? Then, don't give them another tax cut--or we'll wind up even worse off than we are now.

The salaries at the major cable networks would last most of us five or ten years, what they get paid in one year. These are corporate shills and they are mostly GOP members. None of them are real journalists in the sense of Cronkite. They play golf with the execs from oil companies, big pharma, etc. They are part of the machine. They are the propaganda wing of the GOP. But their days are numbered. This election will be about the internet. Probably the biggest boon to democracy since movable type.
  • Older_Wiser · 1 year ago
Oh I so agree with you! When I was offline, I watched these idiots for almost 2 months and learned absolutely nothing but spin. The only place I get real news is ONLINE...I do still watch the newsers on TV, but only so I can rebut their "reporting." : )

A good friend from Yale days went to work as an intern for Peter Jennings at
ABC. She rose up to news producer over the years. About three years ago she
walked out one day, no notice, and quit. They were being TOLD to support
Bush, support Condi Rice, support Cheney, support support support. She
finally got fed up. Also, when Peter died, it devastated his team. She was
told that if she ever revealed the emails or memos, they would make sure she
never worked again at ANY job.

I worked for Barclays over 20 yrs ago (low level position) and they actually had us attend a "political workshop." It was obvious that they were supporting Rethugs (this was during Reagan years).

They were always pushing "corporate culture" down our throats and most of us simply ignored them. Going to those rallies was just a way to get out of work for a couple of hours. The only ones who paid attention were the managers, etc. who were sucking and fucking to get as far up the corporate ladder as they could...

Once, during this thirty year teaching career, I took a job in advertising
and market research. I lasted all of a year at that...OMG the money was
fabulous but I missed working with kids, not to mention summers off. Anyway,
on the eve of Reagan's second term, we were TOLD in no uncertain terms that
we would contribute five hundred bucks to his re-election campaign. I fought
this and I parted ways with the company. There is a whole lotta that shit
out there in corporate America going on illegally because it is against the
law to TELL your employees how to vote or what to contribute. For years I've
wanted to go after them but it's water over the dam now.

I am not sure this posted here yesterday, so I'll put it up again. I was naughty. I scanned this brilliant parody book and made a short movie of it...there is no sound. If you've raised kids, you know the original "Goodnight Moon". This parody is brilliant...and tragic, too.

In the psychological parallel universe the Republicans live in, the economy is not in recession unless there's a Democrat in the White House. But out here in the real world ...

Having lived through the extended recession of the 70s, I can tell you this is a recession.
