Palin is another sad commentary on the lack of intelligence promoted in America. She has no redeeming qualities. We as a nation continue to elected unqualified representatives at all levels and are then surprised they don't deliver on their lies and false promises. We continue to vote against our own best interests and never demand that the elected officials deliver to us those things Americans need to prosper and be happy, like jobs, healthcare and government working for the greater good. Instead we continue to send the Stevens, Craig, Vitter, Delay, Lott, Hastert, Bush's of the country and then imagine that somehow they will become energized to represent us not themselves. Palin is just the latest in a continuing line of selfish, greedy, stupid politicians who have no regard for the electorate and blame every failure and defeat at the very people they hired to help them. It seems odd to separate Palin from the operatives in any way. They use the same tactics of distorting context, ad homonym attacks and innuendo to fight their way to the top.
It would be great to see a real interview with Palin, but I think she's smart enough not to do one. I guess she's got something going on at Fox, but I suspect it will be a conciliatory piece.
Am I alone in hoping that she'll just disappear? Even the idea of a talk show seems a little ridiculous after her crushing defeat.

Separating the operatives from Palin...The reason she was selected as running-mate for McCain could have been to distract from the operatives running McCain's campaign. Just find someone so outrageously ignorant and extreme & hope that she attracts lots of attention that could be turned into votes for the GOP.
She was a distraction. Rick Davis had said that if the McCain campaign ran on issues, they'd lose.
So they lost anyway (thank God!!!), and Palin's services are no longer required, so she can go back to Alaska & devil take the hindmost. I think the Republican party as a whole was not happy with McCain as their standard bearer and that his gimmick pick of Palin for Vice President actually ignited a free for all for the future of the Republican Party among the Romneys, the neo cons, the "religious" right and the wild card Palin. I don't think they can put the old coalition back together and they'll have a hell of a time coming up with a new coalition.
I still feel that McCain would be president-elect today if he had gone with Lieberman as his VP and waved good bye to the "religious" right.

Palin will never run for national office again. What we're seeing now is just the beginning of her jettisoning by the Republican Party. She divided the nation and the McCain team during the campaign, and the RNC, while it may be arrogant and ideologic, is not dumb. I don't get using the "unnamed sources" as an excuse for not responding to the allegations. She HAS to know who she talked with during the campaign regarding Africa, NAFTA, etc. It had to be a very limited number of people, only one perhaps. She at least knows where the source of the information came from, although it could have been passed around in the campaign and leaked by anyone. Still, if an anonymously sourced report came out that I barked at the moon out of my ass, I would still deny and refute it, not just say "no comment" because I don't know who the source is. She has never denied the allegations.
