  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 8 months ago
when are they going to get off their "the public voted against us because of bad advertising, not our policies" kick and actually realize that YES, THE PEOPLE VOTED AGAINST THEIR POLICIES!!!!

okay... they drop to 41 votes in the Senate... Obama wins the election... Obama's polling numbers keep going up and those of GOP congresscritters keep going down...

duh? c'mon... it doesn't take Mensa membership to figure it out.

the American people, ON BOTH SIDES OF THE FENCE, have SPOKEN!

change your WAYS not your voice repugs. we're not buying a slicker picture of cowshit because its a slicker picture.

"to tar the GOP as partisan, obstructionist, and backward-looking."

They seem to be doing a pretty good job of that themselves but it couldn't hurt to put her out there.

I can't wait until she tries to defend herself. GOPers are at their best playing the victim.
  • Apphouse50 · 8 months ago
Well, I for one sure hope they do. I also hope they start running her past some interviewers (that aren't on Faux) -- it's always a treat to watch how fast she plants her head up her ass.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed on this one.

Why do these Dem strategists (Carville, Begala, et al) announce their PR strategy in advance -- why not carry it out and then later discuss?
  • AgentX · 8 months ago
You could fax RNC headquarters and Rush Limbaugh every single DNC or DSCC strategy to corner the Republicans and win votes, and the GOPers wouldn't know square 1 what to do with it. It's like fighting a drunk guy who's so gone that you could tell him where you're going to punch him and he'll raise the wrong arm or leg to block.

What's that famous Sun Tzu line? "If ignorant both of your enemy and yourself, you are certain to be in peril."
Oh, and this one applies too "Hold out baits to entice the enemy. Feign disorder, and crush him."
And this one too: " If your opponent is of choleric temperment, seek to irritate him."

I think she should just be ignored. She does anything she can to get the headlines and, unfortunately, the media complies.
Any intelligent person realizes she is a person of no substance and with her hypocrasy, ego and ambition she will self destruct on her own.

Palin combines stupidity and incompetence with dishonesty to a marked degree. Unfortunately, she IS the face of the republican party. They're welcome to her.

Fox has 2.1 million viewers, on average, in the time slot in March. Cooper on CNN has 1.2 million and Olbermann has 902,000, according to Nielsen Media Research. On a handful of nights, a rerun of Olbermann has even beaten a live Cooper in the 25-to-54-year-old demographic that MSNBC watches most closely.

    Don't do that.

People will empathize with Palin because she lost.

It's like kicking her when she's down.

Besides, it's like beating up a woman.

    Don't do it.
  • Deano · 8 months ago
I don't think it's like kicking her when she's down if she's providing fresh fodder to respond to. I'm not sure if there's anyone who really sees Palin as being "down" at this point. She's an active and verbal politician now, no longer one who is "down." She's setting herself up as fair game, and at this point I don't think anyone, even wingnuts, would accuse those who challenge her asinine views as kicking her when she's down.

I would be careful with Palin. Limbaugh is rather loathed, but Palin does have a better following, and there is one group that may not like hardball politics toward her, Indepdendent registered women.

However, Palin has stuck her foot in her mouth so many times, I doubt she can fight back, besides she is Alaska, not the greatest place for an instant media response.
  • lark83 · 8 months ago
Oh, lets jump on her. When she says something stupid we should call her out. She gives us plenty of opportunities. She is very ambitious and doesn't have a clue about how intellectually challenged she is.

She likes to sling the mud too. I say nail her. It won't hurt us.

If I was a Dem strategist, I would trot out Joe the Plumber as part of the republican cabal.

Show his speeches to adoring Republican crowds...

Elevate him to the leadership mantle. It could work because he would love the attention.

    I'm glad I snagged the URL http://palincheney2012.com .

I'm going to have fun with it the next 4 years.
  • JS · 8 months ago
Will Joe the plumber be her running mate?
Perhaps it could be Bobby 'what is volcano monitoring' Jindal.
  • kladinvt · 8 months ago
Carville? Why does this guy still have a job, he's more of the "old school" version of politics, meaning more like the repugs.

Are you sure you don't mean Michele Bachamann is the next Rush Limbaugh? Bachmann has been much more vocal and highly visible about her opposition to President Obama's policies and her social conservatism. Sure Bachmann won't be running for President, but she is a possible candidate for Governor in Minnesota.
