AMERICAblog: Palin is going to hide for two weeks because she's not ready

Caribou Barbie has to study up and figure out what the VP actually does all day. Don't forget, she doesn't even know what the job entails.

Interesting news here. It seems Todd Palin's former business partner, the one the Love Gov supposedly bumped uglies with, has requested an emergency motion to have his divorce record sealed. What gives?

After a couple weeks, Palin will do a few interviews on Fox news with Hannity and Bill-O. Maybe, if she is really prepared, she will do one with Larry King.

I asked my non-acting politico friend what he thought about Sarah Palin, and he said:

    "She's a nut!"

She'll be reading the Reader's Digest version of "America...For Dummies".

Good luck Sarah. While you're at it, look up "Tom Eagleton"

  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
John, you should point out the part of the video where McCain's spokes model is saying that Ms. Palin is being briefed on McCain's views / policies so she won't make a gaffe and embarrass McCain..... If that's the case, shouldn't they have McCain training in seclusion as well so he can get his own position on the issues straight??? HE'S made more "gaffes" on his own behalf than a herd of Caribou Barbies could make in the next 2 months.
  • riffle · 1 year ago
Do not underesimate her. Do NOT lower expectations.

A good coaching team could prepare an average high school student to perform well in a TV debate with our idiotic press people running it (look at an analysis of the actual questions asked in the dozens of primary debates this year)

and she's a professional politician. Look at the video of her TV debate in alaska.

She has no federal record to defend. She'll do well.

Do not be fooled and do not denigrate her talents. Build her up, not down.
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
So, let me get this straight: She is going into 'seclusion' for 25% of the time until the election? Really? ONE QUARTER of the remaining time to learn about her and she'll be in 'hiding'? Preparing? Getting ready? Really?

What a joke. What an absolute, total, and utter joke...
  • unrepentant_expat · 1 year ago
It'll take her that long to recover from the brain transplant from Karl Rove. It won't work though, half way through the first interview Barracutie will start playing with him/herself.
  • evan_la · 1 year ago
Delurking for a hearty LOL at that one.
  • Bubbles · 1 year ago
    A brain transplant?

Ah, she'd make such a cute little zipper neck.
  • vkobaya · 1 year ago
Actually, the solution is the precedent set by Cheney. Keep her hidden most of the time "for national security reasons." Trot her out maybe every 6 months or so, to prove that she is still there. I think most of the Cheney appearances are videos and could actually be faked, Cheney died years ago. If they really need to show a living Cheney, they have his doubles.
  • jescot · 1 year ago
She not even ready to be a vp candidate !
Teh longer they put her in a bunker the better ...can you imagine the media sitting still for that ? The obama campaign will have a field day !
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
Another reason for her "seclusion" may be that the McCain camp has officially started trying to shut down Troopergate, and they are going to make sure she's not available for any official questioning on that front.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
THIS IS HOW OBAMA / BIDEN FIGHT THIS NONSENSE:

#1 They do not answer ANY reporters questions until Sarah Palin stands before the American press and answers questions. The standard response should be, "We've been answering questions since the primaries. I suggest you get Sarah Palin to answer questions before we answer one more probing question from the press."

#2 Put up a SARAH PALIN NO COMMENT clock on every web page possible.

#3 Pull back on all television interviews and cable news programs by explaining this is what the American people will get if someone as unprepared as Sarah Palin is able to be Vice President. ZERO INFORMATION!

#4 Explain to everyone if its good enough for McCain and Palin to NOT TAKE ANY QUESTIONS then Obama / Biden shouldn't have to play with the press either.

    PLAY HARDBALL DAMMIT!
  • Heather · 1 year ago
The Jed Report has a NO COMMENT CLOCK now. http://www.jedreport.com/ "Still no interview. Still not ready."

  • mf_roe · 1 year ago
Poor McShame two more weeks of a solo act for him, it is an open question at this point as to his ability to remain standing.
  • mswsm · 1 year ago
Don't be fooled. They are setting low expectations. When she performs well -- and she will -- they will say, "See how good she is. She's a quickly study. Don't fear her as a #2." Don't get sucked in by her drama. Focus on the problems and Obama's solutions.
  • catdance · 1 year ago

Although I think it is liekly that the strange providence that looks after the USA will work its way when Palin is forced to resign due to the growing weight of her emerging scandals. So she probably won't need those two weeks to go through V.P. boot camp. But if she should survive, perhaps by filling the tundra or ttose cold Bering waters with the bodies of her accusers and uncompliant witnesses, Sarah Pallin could end up being a powerful force in Washington if McCain wins.

If one thing is clear about Sarah Palin, it is that she, like Bush, believes that she has a mightly calling and a certain and great destiny. God wills whatever Palin desires, God and Palin being of one will. I doubt that a V.P. Palin will stand by idlely and let herself be made impotent by standing along with a President McCain. A Vice President Palin is bound to make herself felt in Washington, and larger forces will help her be a force.

The basis for this analysis is that, as I see it, a President McCain will be a very isolated figure. I take him on his word that he intends to start by being the Maverick Reformer he always imagined himself to be. It is in his nature to expiate his real and imagined sins, and having compromised so much with Bush and the Congressional Republicans over the last eight years, he has a lot of self-perceived sins to expiate. But in reality, in spite of his intentions, a President McCain will have to share power with either one or both of two hostile forces. Either he will share power with a very resentful Democratic majority. It will be resentful because if McCain/Palin wins in 2008, it will be the result of a historically ugly and divisive campaign. Or he will share power with a Republican majority in one or both houses, and very few of those Republicans, either returning or newly elected, will be McCain Republicans. The Repubiicans in Congress, either in the minority or majority, are certain to go their own way, which is to act and legislate as if Bush III on steriods.

McCain will have to compromise and cooperate with the Democrats, if they are in power in Congress, to get any reform agenda passed. And I expect that he would do a lot of that if needed to ensure his legacy. If so, I expect Palin to soon join the inevitable right-wing Republican revolt against that. And if the Republicans can exercise any control over Congress, they will run roughshod over McCains reformist intentions and force him to choose to either become a Bush stand-in or to be isolated from his own party.. I expect McCain to actually fight this Congressional Republican attempt to dominate him. Being President does that, even to an accomplished flip-flopper like McCain. An ambitious and God-Called Palin will eventually join the like-minded forces in Congress and try to be their champion, in the, perhaps not deluded, hope that McCain will be dumped in 2012 and the Presidential nomination be hers to take. McCain can't just dump Palin for insubordination before her term is up. he could isolate and humiliate her if she joins forces with his enemies, but she would make great hay out of her martyrdom for the cause of Party and God.. A Vice President Palin could turn out to be his biggest nightmare.

A McCain/Palin administration may be engulfed with the most intra-party strife since the split in the Republican party of 1880-1881, which saw a hard-core segmnt of the Republican house and senate majority, known as the Stalwarts and led by both New York Republican senators, wage virtual war against the administration of newly elected James A. Garfield. That ended badly for President Garfield, who having routed the Stalwarts, was shot and eventually killed by a disgruntled Stalwart advocate. The assassin wanted to make Vice President Chester Arthur, who he mistakenly considered a feflow soul-mate, the next President, which he became in 1881. Sarah Palin likewise may not have anything to do with the demise of John McCain, but she will gladly walk over his corpse into the Oval Office.
  • lynchie · 1 year ago
I agree in part. However. Neither Bush or Palin actually believe the bullshit that shoots out of their mouths. Those claims of God talking to them are just for the assholes who buy the line. They do all however believe they are above everyone and that no laws apply to them. Americans run for the hills when someone accuses us of being Athiest or attacking religion or being un Christian. they count on that. As for the Congress if it is republican. They will do what they did with Bush exactly what McCain wants. They don't give a shit they will continue to loot the Treasury and the country for their friends Corporate America. I have said this previously that Obama faces the same challenge. He will get nothing done if the Dem Congress decides not to do it. He will have to deal with the Blue Dogs who are just republicans elected as Dems. He will have to contend with Pelosi and Reid who have their own Agendas. In the end regardless of who is elected President the control lies in Congress and in the hands of the Benedict Arnold's like Lieberman.
  • MC_Haiku · 1 year ago
I think that we should focus on McCain.

Any mention of Palin should include the word liar and then move quickly on to the fact that John McCain, the actual candidate for President, voted for Bush 90-95% of the time in the last eight years. And that the Repubes have yet to offer one actual plank (remember when conventions had platforms they actually debated?), other than offshore drilling, I suppose, for the issues that confront our country.

This gang of street thugs - it's time to put them away.

Hey guys, make me feel a bit better and take part in this sort of b.s. online poll. And spread it around. I use Firefox but some of my banking links are on Internet Explorer for some stupid reason and for some reason, it's on the AOL home page by default. That's how I came across this rather b.s. post conventions poll. It just galls me that McCain is up by a wide margin (of the internet on training wheels users of course). So please make it bear some semblance of reality. It's only 3 questions and it should take less than a minute to do unless of course you get the same 20 second lag between voting and a pop up window telling you what the stats are, like I did.

took the poll.... but you know the online polls are easily skewed and are indicative of NOTHING. I did take a look at the comments attached to that poll though, all I can say is WOW, what a bunch of dumbshits.

The Ministry of Truth has to set up the public. She was not as well received as they hoped because the public was not prepared for a Barbie. Thnaks to the power of propoganda, that will change. Her come back won't be based on her inhanced knowledge base, just on a more thoroughly compliant public. "Resistence is futile."

She should hide and be ashamed of herself. Just read an article about a waitress that heard her say racist remarks. The waitress said when Obama beat Hillary, " Sambo beat the bitch." Hope this remark comes out in the open. This woman is slime.
  • ron071 · 1 year ago
This waitress needs to come forth on tv and tell the country who Palin really is. It's her duty to bring the truth to light. We can't afford another Bush/Cheney disaster. This waitress must come forward on tv now.

    WANT MORE PAIN??????VOTE McSAME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ABC News reported that the teleprompters had "nuclear" spelled as "new clear." Two weeks to turn this snowbilly into a VP candidate?? If she hasn't learned to speak English in 44 years and took 6 years and 5 schools to get a bachelors in journalism? Good luck to the poor schmuck that has to listen to her shrill nasality for 2 weeks.

It amazes me that Republicans see know problem with a woman with a special needs child being Vise President or God forbid President. I believe they were the same people who don't want gay couples to adopt because children need a full time mother and father. Oh unless they are a Republican running for the highest office in the country...then some one else can care for the child...go figure

Do any of you know if it is true or not about Palin son that is in the Army going to Iraq enlisted because he got in a bit of trouble. He was suppose to have destroyed a school bus but if he enlisted he wouldn't be prosecuted? Is that true or not.
