If I was a hard core pro-lifer like Dobson, I would be disturbed by her waffling on this issue. She basically says women should "choose" life, and she says nobody should be put in jail for getting an abortion. Except for the part where she says she is "pro-life", that makes her sound as pro-choice as many Democrats.

Of course, we know and the right wingers know that she is against Roe and would like to see abortion illegal. But she sure does a good job of muddying up her own beliefs. Couric should have asked her if she thinks doctors who perform abortions should be put in jail.

It is one of the sickest things about these wingnuts. A raped woman should complete the pregnancy that was the result of the attack on her??? Just drop her whole life for it. And when people on the street strike up a conversation, as they sometimes do with pregnant women, maybe she should let them know, "Yeah, I was raped, and McCain/Pain want me to have the baby."

pro-lifers make a hash of their own principles (sanctity of life) when they make an exception for rape. palin's is the ONLY principled pro-life view. if you're not willing to impose prison time on women who take a morning-after pill following a rape, you can't claim to be pro-life.

Yes, and I want them to threaten IVF clinics where embryos are made and destroyed every day. I was there. Everyone there desparate for a child of their own with the person they love. NO WAY they want to touch that one, but if they overturn Roe, you will have to go abroad for IVF.

Y'know... Years ago, my niece had a baby at 14 years old... It was very difficult for her to make the decision to give her daughter up for adoption.. She thought about abortion, but decided to go ahead and have the baby.. A good couple adopted her, and gave her a good life... We all supported her decision, and were behind her 100 percent, and would have been even if she'd decided to keep the baby. She appreciated the fact that she had a choice, even though it was a very difficult dilemma. That was almost 30 years ago, and she never got pregnant again after that.... But the fact that she had a choice meant a great deal to her and to all her family members. People with views like Palin have really get under my skin, in more ways than one.

She may get flack from pro-lifers for saying that she's "all for contraception" when asked about the morning-after pill. Several pro-life people, including my mother, believe that contraceptions such as the morning-after pill are NO DIFFERENT from abortion.

Palin also claims that she's for measures that are "legal, safe and should be taken." Shouldn't we then surmise that she'd be willing to keep these measures available as long as they are "legal, safe and should be taken"? Somehow I doubt this.

I for one think it is important to lessen the numbers of abortions in this country, but I'm not a pro-lifer either. "Safe and Rare" has been my motto on the issue...but if we don't implement education and awareness of safe sex as extra alternatives to Palin's Abstinence-Only mindset, we're going to be stuck with more unwanted pregnancy. *Steps off Soapbox*

A lot of americans STILL., to this day, don't know the difference between the morning after pill and RU-486, which is the abortion pill popular in europe, which the woman gets pregnant.. Two totally different drugs, but so much of our population is soooo ignorant.. It just boggles the brain.. How do we educate those folks? I'm stumped...

God. It is not apparent she really is in command of any knowledge regarding physical human reproduction. With all the kids she may (or may not) have had. And / or she is deliberately obfuscating, not going into the debate about whether it's conception or implantation that begins "life." Some contraception prevents implantation besides the 'morning after pill.' She must have been told not to go into it by her handlers...

But what the FUCK is up with all the "personally" crapola??? This isn't a tea party. She is interviewing for a PUBLIC position. So she "personally" wouldn't have an abortion. Great. Nor will I. Of course I am a male, but "personally" I suppose I would not make that choice. WTF? She said it so many times it's sick. Sorry - don't care if she wants or doesn't want one - as PRESIDENT would she prevent others from being able to make that choice? The honest answer is "yes." The Palin answer is "personally I would not have one." ???

So, she is fine with the pill, but not the emergency contraception, which is basically the pill in a larger all-at-once dose. In fact in a pinch, I was told I could take a large number of regular pills, but I didn't have those either.

We need to be careful and watch during the upcoming Biden/Palin debate that Sarah doesn't have something looking like a cord running up the back of the red jacket she'll probably be wearing. God, the poor girl is so clueless. I almost want to cheer for her during the debate. It's inevitable she's going to have to step down and Horndog McCain is going to have to admit to a senior moment gone bad.

Um, yeah, on top of the fact that Sarah has a problem with Plan B for the wrong reasons, it bothered me that Couric doesn't seem to understand what Plan B does either.
