AMERICAblog: Palin's kids lost their $150,000 underwear

  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
i heard Sarah Palin described today as the line between the "low right" and the "high right".

That about sums it up. She personifies the basest of the GOPer base. They will live and die by her. Right now, they are dying.

In a state that elects a multiple felon to the Senate stealing some silk shorts must qualify one of the Palins for attorney general or something.

I'm sure the underwear comment was just an expression.
  • Happy_Housewife · 1 year ago
I believe her father. After all, this wouldn't be the first time Bristol has lost her panties ;-)

OMG, I was thinking of something just as snarky. lol

Alaska must be like one huge trailer park.

The RNC had better get the clothes back before the Palins have a garage sale.
  • loona_c · 1 year ago
Of course they needed new underwear. The family could't wear their red flannel union suits under their new duds!

I wonder if the daughter returned the LOUIS VUITTON bag?

This is the new litmus test for Republican candidates auditioning to be the leader of the free world, weither or not they can find their kids underwear, and know who owns it.

    Quite an achievement.

Frankly, I don't give a flying fuck that Sarah Palin spent $150,000, or whatever it was, on clothing for the campaign. She was a candidate for national office, and she was entitled to be properly turned out for the assignment. It's fairly clear she's not personally wealthy, so the hell with the whole thing. HOWEVER, what sticks is the hypocrisy of this whole exercise. She's supposed to be appealing because she's a "hockey mom", presumably with no pretensions. Yet we have this extravagant effort to doll her up for something she's clearly out of her league in. Then, there's Bristol. OK. She got knocked up. But her baby-father appears to be the height of parental irresponsibility. He doesn't want children, and it's become absolutely obvious that he has no desire to assume any responsibility for this one. Yet part of Palin's appeal is her opposition to birth control and her advocacy of abstinence education -- which failed miserably in this case, as it does in most. What the hell kind of credibility can she claim as an advocate for that bankrupt position. So we have a paraded representation, complete with Levi on the platform at the convention (shades of a Nazi rally), that they're "going to get married." Yeah. Great. "Goin to the chapel, baby." And what happens? The whole subject just disppears. The media give her a pass on it. Why should anyone take this harridan seriously? And why should anyone think that she has any kind of political future at all? She's simply a classic fraud.

Did you ever hear McCain or Palin mention that Joe the Plumber was on welfare twice? Same narrative
  • tc59 · 1 year ago
Underwear? They didn't bother with it before.
  • bill__free · 1 year ago
Be nice to Palin. There might be a good chance we will get her in 2012 if we try not to bring out any trash. Now shush, the country is done electing stupidity and there is enough stupidity straight from her mouth. Like Ron White says, "you can't fix stupid".
  • RenoAnne · 1 year ago
Since when do Palins (especially female ones) wear underwear?
  • DankoRamone · 1 year ago
Ah, you leaned too far left and fell down. Sorry, I'm a huge liberal, but you're looking for stuff to complain about when you should be considering semantics. He's talking about the experiences one has with traveling with kids and the kids' tendancy to misplace stuff in general.

In this case, a mid-level manager in Ohio , LA, or New York could've said the same thing to a freind as he and the kids returned from Disneyworld.

Which isn't to say they may not have bought the kids really expensive panties that prompty got lost instead of given back to the RNC so they could sniff them. But that's not indicated in the quotes.

The kids lose underwear? How exactly does one lose underwear? I can honestly say that I've raised kids, and neither of them ever lost any underwear. I mean, how can that happen?
  • bbock · 1 year ago
This is hilarious. Because I'd think it would be very easy to sort her wardrobe. If its Nieman Marcus or Saks Fifth Avenue, it belongs the the RNC. If it's KMart Jacqueline Smith, or it has an an athletic logo or writing on it, it belongs the Palin. What's hard about that?
  • bbock · 1 year ago
Of course they need underwear. You wouldn't want Bristol, Piper, and Willow, going Lohan with no undies. And we really didn't need to see Trig, Track, or Zamboni's junk.
  • LeftCoastOracle · 1 year ago
Just a thought, John but why were her kids on the campaign trail anyway? I can understand them needing clothing if they were living out of suitcases for weeks on end but I don't understand why they were doing that - unless the Republican party wanted them out there to make their ticket look like "regular folks." If that's the case then I can understand her buying them additional underwear.

If someone starts out life as as trailer trash and your trailer trash too the bitter end,,,
  • cirrostratus · 1 year ago
I still don't get why someone with assets worth $1.2 million couldn't pay for her own clothing. Even if her wardrobe needed sprucing up, why did anyone else have to pay for it?

How dare Alaska send their trash south?

Um, why was the RNC or the McCain campaign or whomever buying the kids underwear? It's one thing to argue that she needs to look nice on camera and at campaign events (though not the tune of $150,000), but, um, who exactly did they need to impress with Palin's kids' underwear?

Let me get this headline right: "Alaska Governess Frantic as RNC Demands Kids' Underwear". Do I have this right? The RNC is asking for already-worn children's underwear, and may dispatch lawyers to acquire the garments. Is this right? Do I have these facts correct? The Republican National Committee is demanding that the Governess of Alaska PACKAGE and MAIL several boxes of used underwear from children. I'm having a hard time getting my head around this. Used underwear from children. The RNC. Ummmm.........
