  • stoic · 1 year ago
Actually, there a four kinds of lies now; lies, damned lies, statistics, and Republican Spin.
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
It's all fucked up and don't blame it on Paulson. The Murkan people voted for it, now they act like it was none of them.

    Happy fucking 4th.

My taxes shouldn't have to go to those like Bushboy. If I had my druthers, I would yank him off that social security teat so fast...
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
The money I've paid into social security my entire working life wont be there when I'm supposed to retire, neither will my 401K, thanks to you bush voting yuppie greedy scum. I don't want to pay anymore into it. Congratulations yuppies, for destroying the republic. Good job.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
ask busboy how social security would be doing now if bushco had had their way and privatized it (privatized meaning, invested in the stock market).

it worked so well for various cities around the country that invested their pension schemes in the stock market... and are now teetering on the brink of bankruptcy.

They've ruined us. My future, your future, all our futures. And I'm really angry about it. I've always been described by people who know me and those I work with as a "really laid back type of guy." But I swear, I've never been so fucking angry.
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
I've always tried to live like a human being and try to not put much of a negative impact on the planet. These shit stains think they are all that harming the planet and then when things crash because of them, foot us with the bill.
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
They used to hang horse theives and cattle rustlers. Some now look at that as too harsh. "How barbaric." But no. Back then, a man needed those things to feed his family and himself. Taking that away was like very probably killing him and his family. They should do the same to those who have endangered all our lives because of this.

should i blame paulson for being high?
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
I'm so pissed off right now I could yank up a telephone pole. Look what you've done your moron bush voters. And you're going to act like you had nothing to do with it. That's soooooo like you and your caliber.

    a repug twist on lyrics...

    Sheila: Times have changed
    Our economy's getting worse
    Gas is too expensive
and our dollar's a worldwide curse!
Sharon: Should we blame the Middle East?
    Liane: Or blame society?
Dads: Or should we blame the images on TV?
    Sheila: No!
    blame Clinton
    Everyone: Blame Clinton
Sheila: Because he just couldn't keep it zipped
And his policies made neocons flip
    Everyone: Blame Clinton
    Blame Clinton
Sheila: We need to form a full assault
    Everyone: It's Clinton's fault!

''If bin Laden takes over and becomes king of Saudi Arabia, he'd turn off the tap,'' said Roger Diwan, a managing director of the Petroleum Finance Company, a consulting firm in Washington. ''He said at one point that he wants oil to be $144 a barrel'' -- about six times what it sells for now.

republican foreign policy or republican fiscal policy?
    or both.

the dollar index is down 41% since gw & gang took office. I'm sure Paulsen thinks its just a coincidence.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
one of the big reasons mccain is in Columbia and Mexico (even though he claims its about drug trafficing...) is to push forward the Americas free trade agreement.

which will REALLY help our economy when all the REST of the jobs move out of the US.

"Take a look, the dollar has depreciated roughly 24, a little bit less than 25 percent, since February 2002"

Depreciated against what? The price of Gold, in dollars, has tripled since Feb 2002.

The job loss figures for June weren't as bad as I thought they'd be. Still not good though.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
the thing is Scott... they count 'job loss' figures like they calculate the rate of inflation.

if you manipulate the data it'll say whatever you want it to say.

and it STILL comes out as less than promising... which to me means it's much worse than we're being told.

one question to think about, is there any industry/job market that's currently HIRING in the US??
  • scottinsf · 1 year ago
Hi Jeff. I agree with you completely. I know it's much worse than people realize, especially in the way they calculate the figures. There is still only so much they can hide in the statistics though. The charade can only be kept up for so long.
  • scottinsf · 1 year ago
As far as industry/job sector that's currently hiring, that's a tough one. Everything is pretty stagnant right now. There are some segments of healthcare that are expanding but I know first hand that even there a lot of people just can't afford treatment for a lot of things and that is tightening up hiring in a lot of fields. My other suggestion would be litigation support, particularly concerning E-discovery and crap like that.

I tried, gah know I tried. I mean, I aint lying. Tried for years all over including my home state where they just elected a fake fundie exorcist. I can't do anymore. I refuse to.
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
They fucking elected a govenor here who says he performed an exorcism! I would rather live on Mars with no oxygen than here. Like one of those climate controlled areas that would be built. But still, you wonder if a meteorite would breach it because they don't burn up as well here. It would be worth living there.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
you do know that govenor is in the running to be mccain's VP right?
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
Of course. I tried talking to the people here on local message boards but it was all idiocy. Pure fucking idiocy. Hellasush idiocy. And the dumber they are, the most outspoken were his proponents. Sorta like most of the internet.
  • Indigo · 1 year ago
The U.S. Secretary of the Treasury said that? That's embarassing but probably not as embarassing as My. Pet. Goat. Here's the thing about being an American today: we're getting used to being embarassed about our penny-ante government. It would help define who they are if they'd wear guady uniforms with funky sashes and many, many ribbons and medals. Then the world would better understand.
  • Indigo · 1 year ago
Meanwhile, here's one to file under fresh eye-openers: a liberal e-mail friend from Norway tells me that although he thinks Obama would make an excellent president, he doesn't see any problems with McCain.

send him Cliff Schecter's book... its a quick read, and it'll scare the hell out of him.

the Goldman Sachs junta of Paulson and Josh Bolten needs to be overthrown
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
It becomes harder and harder for me to justify being online. The trend is downward and people look at me crazy for pointing it out. I can save money dropping my internet for home use. So I think it makes more sense to move on. I wish you all the best.

Plain and simple, Hank Paulson is a dip shit. It's a good thing they closed the market early today. Time and time again when they do that on a day with bad news at the begining of trading, they wait till the close to drop the bomb as Bloomberg reported right after the market closed. It was bad enough that oil hit a new high today, the country lost another 66,000 jobs ( That's 440,000 lost this year alone ), the ISM index sunk below 50 to 48.9 meaning the country is in recession and Hank Paulson is rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. But not to worry because Hank "dip shit " Paulson says we have a strong dollar policy. Wow. That really makes me feel warm and fuzzy.

Moody's downgrades senior unsecured rating of Toll Brothers to junk status

NEW YORK (AP) -- Moody's Investors Service on Thursday cut the senior unsecured rating of homebuilder Toll Brothers Inc. to junk status, as homebuilding trends continue to weaken.

Moody's downgraded the Horsham, Pa.-based company's senior unsecured rating to "Ba1" from "Baa3." A rating of "Ba1" is one notch below investment grade. At the same time, Moody's confirmed the company's "Ba2" subordinated debt rating and assigned a corporate family rating of "Ba1."

As usual, the Bush Administration is out to lunch on reality.

Nothing beats being in someone's pocket (the Chimp's) and being obliged to pump propaganda. Guessing that this would be one of Mr. Twain's 'damned lies'.
