AMERICAblog: "Payday loans" on the increase

  • Andrew · 1 year ago
As if pay day loans weren't bad enough, how much more insane a suggestion could Clinton come up with as in floating the idea of having Greenspan oversee anything other than the geriatric set palying shuffle board in Miami?
What we are witnessing, through the now-failing obscene use of derivatives, is the entrails of the prolonging of failed fiat money system which began its decay when the world was forced onto a pure fiat money system with President Nixon’s revocation of the Gold Standard in 1971.
ALL FIAT CURRENCIES COLLAPSE, because the debt that they represent grows exponentially, eventually overwhelming the ability of any economy to even pay the interest on the debt. This is why interest rates are declining towards zero. Eventually, even interest rates of .1% will be too high to pay and the defaults will implode the financial system. Notice that I did not say the defaults would implode the economy. That will still stagger on, because that is operated by people whole trade real goods and services. It’s the financial system that will disappear and be replaced by honest money.
Clearly the system is collapsing now. Last week’s drop of 12% in gold is a sign of instability in the paper system, not a vote of non-confidence in real money. The sell off was contrived by the monetary interests and I expect it will have unintended consequences. For example, taking gold down, means that the perceived value of the US dollar and other paper currencies are raised. But, the problem with taking the price of gold down by raising margin hugely is that the powers that be may have forced any number of hedge funds [or dealers that behave like hedge funds] that were long gold and silver towards bankruptcy.
To save themselves these hedge funds may be forced to sell CDO’s and other derivatives that are already illiquid. The values of these derivatives which had been in limbo will be exposed as worthless, and that in turn may expose banks who hold this stuff on their balance sheet as visibly insolvent. It is the rule of unintended consequences biting the manipulators on the butt. Nobody out there understands the complexity of the derivative markets. It’s an immense financial domino system, and the plunge protection team may have just tipped dozens of dominoes over. Their collapse is doing to spread and widen until it reaches right back onto the balance sheets of the money center banks. The Fed is going to have to monetize trillions of this crap to stop the dominoes of failure and that’s going to kill the dollar and the rest of the fake money out there.
All fiat money is debt. Debt charges a percentage interest rate. All percentage rates generate exponential increase. In time even the smallest percentage interest will exceed the entire economy’s ability to pay.
In our world banks create the money we use out of thin air and charge us 5% per year to use it. Eventually the banks end up owning everything and the people are universally bankrupt. It’s a form of slavery.

I'm truly saddened by the ease with which Obama supporters have adopted the most vile personal attacks against Hillary Clinton (and now Bill Clinton too). Ten years ago, you would have been thought crazy if you predicted that Democrats themselves would be talking about Hillary as a corrupt Whitewater whore, Hillary as a vicious psycho attacking Vince Foster, Bill Clinton as a rabid racist hated by African-Americans, and on and on and on.

Mark my words, McCain will win this election by a large margin. The zeal of the Obamaniacs to tear to shreds anything in their way has destroyed the Democratic Party. You're nuts if you think Hillary supporters are going to vote for Obama after she's been called every sick GOP name in the book (by fellow Dems!). I'm ashamed to be a Democrat (and yes I will be donating the max $2300 to McCain). God help us as we descend directly into Hell.

. . . floating the idea of having Greenspan oversee anything other than the geriatric set palying shuffle board in Miami . . .
That would be God's Waiting Room, also known as Sarasota. Miami is for Cubans.

Only someone stupid enough to fall for WMD in Iraq and Mission Accomplished will fall for Republican economics. Not very reassuring, is it?

This unfortunately is descriptive of a large population of the US considering Bush was, sort of, elected twice.

I have read that more people are using credit cards to pay everyday costs as well. Between this and payday loans can the overseers, that would be Congress it appears anyway, not see that the engine that makes America run, the American people are in trouble??

Probably a resounding, SO, will be the response, like Cheney recently proclaimed about the will of the majority of American that are against his designs for the world.

I now wonder why sometimes America can be called a constitutional republic, a democracy or even vaguely mentioned as being governed by the will of the American people.

    "Payday loans" on the increase

Payday Loan(s) = Bear Stearns Bailout by the Fed

Was it W. C. Fields who said, "There's a sucker born every minute" -- or was it Mae West?

Oh, well, the meaning is still the same when referring to the American taxpayer, aka Wall Street's bailout banker of last resort.

    Ben Bernanke = America's Proctologist
    :(

The GOP is a joke...every aspect of government in this country has been contaminated if not outright ruined...there is no way another GOPer wins the presidential race unless it's rigged...and if Obama is the nominee, the landslide will swamp any rig job. So Hillary, for once, do the right thing. Bow out gracefully and let's get this show on the road.

It's unfortunate that you are sad, but you have got to try and understand why many Democrats are mad at Hillary. She is not blameless in all this.
Go back a few months, and you will see that these Democrats were neutral, and open. Once Hillary started throwing the kitchen sink (their words) at Obama, putting out a picture of Obama in tribal gear, bringing race into it, openly admiring, and endorsing McCain, the republican, over Obama her fellow democrat, and even saying that both McCain and she are the only experienced candidates, people started seeing the Clintons for who they really are. They are power hungry, and will resort to Rove like politics, trying to win the WH at any cost, even bringing down a potential nominee like Obama.
They are hell bent on bringing even the party down. They are losing any chance the party has had to win this election. Do you think it is loyal and classy to endorse your republican opponent, over a fellow democrat?
Don't you see anything wrong with that? Can you not understand the anger and frustration many democrats feel over the way Hillary has run her campaign? She has now been caught lying for the third time about her so called foreign policy experience. Do you see anything wrong with that?
You have every right to contribute to any candidate you choose, but don't let
blind loyalty prevent you from seeing the whole picture.

You've hit it right on the head Sage24. Some people just can't stand to hear the truth. Hillary IS a liar. No telling how much other "padding" she has tried to put in her risible attempts to define her "experience." Both she and whoremonger hubby Bill ARE racists and some sort of tax cheats as her reluctance to release tax info. But I wouldn't count on too much from these even if they are released. SO much of the FirstLady schedules were redacted (blacked-out). The question I have is simply how damning can it be to have met with an American first lady that identities need to be concealed?

I wonder how corporations get away with usurious loan practices & more. When bookies, loan sharks & the rest of categories of "criminal'" activity placed on the little people go to prison years for the same thing.

Like the conspiracy thing only applies to little but not people who work for the government. To point any wrong thing or allege criminal activity by government officials is to labeled a conspiracy nut from some quarters.

I guess if Boosh & Cheney say the earth is flat again the MSM will broadcast that as absolute truth too.

Whats next the POTUS is declared divine or from the lineage of the Gods & decreed to be worshiped and must have absolute power over every aspect of life??

People who take out "payday loans" are usually in dire circumstances. If you factor in "late fees", "bounced check fees" (from banks and "legitimate" creditors), possible repossession of your vehicle, mortgage foreclosure - even the worst of the "payday loans" start to look almost cost effective. And that is the real shame.

Sadly the usurious Payday Loan industry preys upon our nation's poor and often least educated. But the bank/bankcard lobby is most strong.

I first brought this topic up on this very blog over three years ago. One of the saddest sights I've seen first hand here in America in the past five years is not the blight I've seen walking through West Oakland although that was sad. Seeing the immediate area around Fort Lewis outside Tacoma, WA where it is block after block after block of pawn shops and payday loanshark stores was actually sadder.
