Why are you Joe and John so blataly anti-Hilary.?

It makes me want to log on to your site less and less.

I have been a loyal reader and financial contributer and a Michelangelo Signorile listener who turned me on to Johh Aravosis' blog.

For the past few months I have notce a great bias an animosity towrads Hilary Clinton. Even your ads are bias.

Can't you be more neutral and cater to all democrats? Who are you to predict or tell me what the best choice is for me. Both candidates are good and the convention will decide. I am a Florida voter and want my vote counted.

    Torture Memo Released by Pentagon
By LARA JAKES JORDAN – 1 hour ago

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Pentagon has released a now-defunct legal memo that approved the use of harsh interrogation techniques against terror suspects.

The newly declassified memo says President Bush's wartime powers trump any international treaties banning torture.

The memo was written by Justice Department lawyer John Yoo in March 2003. He has since left the agency.

Yoo's memo to top Pentagon lawyer William J. Haynes outlines legal reasons why military interrogators could use harsh tactics against al-Qaida and Taliban detainees. Yoo wrote that the techniques could be used as long the interrogators did not specifically intend to torture their captors.

The memo was rescinded in December 2003, about nine months after Yoo sent it to the Pentagon.

Pelosi asks Bush to consider boycott of opening ceremony

    Okay, let's get this straight:

Nancy Pelosi asks Bush to consider a boycott of the Olympics opening ceremony to protest China's brutal crackdown on Tibet -- but, she refuses consider introducing an inquiry on articles of impeachment in the House to investigate Bush's brutal destruction of Iraq.

I detect the onset of an irony alert....

if Bush did that, with one phone call the American economy would crash and possibly never recover.

"Pelosi asks Bush to consider boycott of opening ceremony "

Yeah, and I asked Pelosi to consider impeaching Bush. Guess we're both SOL...
  • Chris From Maine · 1 year ago
    the headline should read :

Pelosi petitions King George to put it to his conscience if his Royal Majesty would consdier boycott the upcoming opening ceremony.

    or something like that.

Bush is hollow. Just a few weeks ago, he gave the Medal of Honor to the Dalai Lama, most likely with no idea whatsoever who the Dalai Lama is or what he stands for. Now he wants to go to a banquet in China so he can show the Chinese Overlords and Bankers that he knows how to eat with chopsticks. It's reasonable to assume that he has no idea what the issue is about or how the Chinese systematically attack human rights on many fronts. Bush is hollow like one of those pottery soldiers that guard the ancient tombs.

I'm with you on everything but the chopsticks -- Bush couldn't possibly handle chopsticks -- their usage requires more skill and coordination than he could ever hope to muster. This is the same man who did battle with a pretzel and lost!

You will recall that on his last visit to China, Bush couldn't even find his way off the stage without revealing his inner and outer buffoon.

Trust me, Bush will be much safer using a fork -- or a large spoon -- and he doesn't even do that very well.

But, Bush will overlook China's deplorable human rights record just as he violates human rights here at home -- and when he returns to Washington, he will probably award himself the Medal of Honor.

Still, if Bush does decide to try eating with chopsticks while in China, I just hope that someone has a video camera at hand -- it would be a sensation on YouTube!

The US is the greatest country on the planet. There are more free people walking this earth than in any time in history. Most of which is due to to the sacrifises of the USA. Compared with almost every nation on earth the US has a great track record when it comes to human rights. They have made mistakes along the way. Everyone has. The US is not a perfect society, but show me one that is. The US does not torture the world. You are apparently brain washed and your accusations are pathetically over the top. The free world to this day owes the US a debt of grattitude it could never repay.

We should listen to both sides of the story regarding the Tibet incident. On one hand I believe the Chinese government is trying to prevent Tibet from separation from China; on the other hand, Chinese citizens are getting killed by the Tibetans (some of them are burnt to dead), and I believe the Chinese Government needs to take some tough actions to protect the citizens. Remember the Rodney King riots? The LAPD didn't take any actions and it got out of hand real fast. As for the Olympics, I think the western countries are trying to take advantage of the situation, it's all political. Don't forget the Dalai lama is a personal friend of Pelosi and she is obviously on his side.
