AMERICAblog: Pelosi on McClellan

"I gave up golf several months after I pretended I did, what more do you want?"-43
  • bumpkis · 1 year ago
Uh Nancy...maybe he'd be in the Hague by now if you had not taken impeachment off the table....we had his ass....you needed Scottie's book to know that?
  • mf_roe · 1 year ago
So what's SHE done to correct it? Pelosi peddles as much snake oil as McClellan, at least HE more or less admits to being too dim to figure out things on his own.
  • 1billinnj2 · 1 year ago
this is what republicans are. i am glad i am a democrat.
  • BorninUSA · 1 year ago
What I am getting from all the hype about McClellan's book is that Rove, Cheney, Libbey and probably some others were the "brains" of the administration and knew that Bush was dim enough not to catch on what they were doing. Thus Bush's vacant look when McClellan asked him about certain things. They used McClellan to front for them to the media and kept what they were doing hidden from Bush and McClellan. Many people have always thought that Bush was only the patsy for Cheney. Bush wasn't smart enough to have thought of some of the dirty tricks they were pulling and he certainly wasn't smart enough to figure out he was being used. It has now come out that Libbey lied to Fitzgerald about Plame. And poor George was conned into pardoning Libbey! George was definitely a victim here but that doesn't let him off the hook for being dumb and agreeing to do whatever Cheney told him to do.

Those are strong comments from someone who said impeachment is off the table.
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
    Busboy

I got pissed off with this disquis commenting., Been lurking but haven't posted .
  • interlude · 1 year ago
she says its a big lie...the war was unnecessary....a grotesque mistake.
    but impeachment would be awkward?
getting rid of criminals is "off the table?"

this is the same DLC dem who said anti-war demonstrators were like inconvenient homeless people, right?

somebody find the woman a spine.
  • Bubbles · 1 year ago
Pelosi just called George Bush a liar.

    About time.
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
    Busboy

Take care. I still love your comments. I will be around, just not posting.
  • BorninUSA · 1 year ago
Just asking: what happened to GrantfromHouston, ChrisfromMaine? to name a couple of the old abloggers. Several of the old familiar names are no longer present. I know I had to change my name as ablog wouldn't let me use my old name. Maybe others ran into the same problem. John, how is the new format working out for you? Not the same as the old one and think people have found new homes to post at. It used to be buzzing every night when there was something as hot as McClellan's book or such. Now there are hardly any people on and it is pretty tame. Just wondering.
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
You are right. I know where some of those posters are posting and it's not here. Then too, some have change their names to prevent exactly what Busboy said in a different post " they start tagging your ass and then a + isn't that far from a minus. For instance I have not posted in days and I still got tagged. Who needs the aggravation?
  • mf_roe · 1 year ago
BusBoy at -3341 and last time I checked Mirth was about -1600, How does that work? BusBoy is our court jester but Mirth has valid and pithy comment which don't rate that kind of venom.
  • mf_roe · 1 year ago
Chris was here for a few short comments a couple of weeks ago, haven't seen Grant here since the new format. The new format DOES need more work. And yes it seems pretty dead most nights

Those of us who knew that the War was a grotesque mistake based on lies over 5 years ago can only sigh and shake our heads:

Bush Sought ‘Way’ To Invade Iraq? O'Neill Tells '60 Minutes' Iraq Was 'Topic A' 8 Months Before 9-11.
  • AdmNaismith · 1 year ago
Nancy, is impeachment still off the table? Really?
  • kl8n · 1 year ago
At least she voted no on the Iraq resolution, so she actually has the moral authority to call them on their bullshit. Too bad she's been in charge and in a position to do something about it for well over a year. But, I guess better late than never. Bandwagon Bush hating is better than buckling under. Thank goodness those days seem to be over.

    ???
    New leadership, please.
  • TomJoad · 1 year ago
That scumbag Mc Clellan has some chutzpah. Pu-leeze. Reread his mealy-mouthed tap-dancing answers to questions in the breifings. He HAD to know it was lies, to be able to be sure what he could and couldn't say. He chose his words carefully, sidestepped questions, direct ones, that if he HAD believed the "party line" he would have come out and said more directly...but he didn't. He sidestepped, obfuscated...things you don't need to do if you truly believe what you are saying.

Just reread what he said in answer to questions, pay attention particularly to what he DIDN'T say. There is where the rubber hits the road. He didn't defned, he pretended other questions were asked, he got cute in his answers for deniability. He knew...

Pelosi, you fool.... the pResident LIED the US into an illegal, immoral war, and you stand by and do nothing.
  • foolme1ns · 1 year ago
Isn't that sweet. Nancy Pelosi thinks the president lied us into war, but impeachment is still off the table.

I feel about Pelosi like I do McClellan's book. Yeah, thanks a lot for that. That really helps.
  • tofubo · 1 year ago
''I almost wonder how anybody associated with this war ... would not come to the conclusion that this war is a grotesque mistake, that it was misrepresented from the start, not prepared for correctly,'' said Pelosi.

i almost wonder how anybody associated with one branch of government that oversees the others ... would not come to the conclusion that this war was NOT a grotesque mistake, that is was planned for from 1999 (if not earlier), and that the only remedy for future presidents not to do the same would be to impeach the mother fucker already," said me.
  • via · 1 year ago
Gee, I almost thought that lying to Congress was an impeachable offense? Silly me. I could slap her for those comments. She essentially trivialized this illegal war, again, by saying, "So?".
  • annejohnson · 1 year ago
As Vincent Bugliosi would say, after Ms. Pelosi says that Bush lied us into war (I don't know about you but I've known this from the getgo), she'll just "go on to the next paragraph."

David Sirota is ready for the uprising. So am I.

IS SCOTTY GOING TO BE THE NEXT JOHN DEAN???? HOORAY FOR MC CLELLAN, FINALLY A REPUBLICAN HERO THAT CAN TELL THE TRUTH. I DON'T CARE HOW MANY YEARS IT TOOK FOR HIM TO REVEAL WHAT HE SAID IN HIS BOOK, HE DID COME OUT WITH THE TRUTH AND SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT. CAN PELOSI PUT IMPEACHMENT ON THE TABLE NOW OR IS SHE STILL GOING TO SUCK UP TO THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION???????????????????
  • woodroad34 · 1 year ago
Nancy Pelosi is the Condi Rice of the Democrats as far as I'm concerned...inept, facile, and should keep yer yap shut. If she feels Bush lied to us, then impeach the bastard like the murderer he is. Stop playing politics.
