AMERICAblog: Pelosi & Reid: Debate should go ahead

  • AdrianBrowne · 1 year ago
    Would you say John McCain's decision to suspend his campaign inspires faith in his ability to lead or has the last vestige of any confidence you had in the guy just evaporated into the thin blue air?

    Oh Johnny, they don't need you in Washington and you have to show up for your ass beating on Friday. I can imagine how far off he will be during this debate. It is like calling in sick for work and then the boss tells you if you don't show up your'e fired. You show up to save your job but you need to cough all day to make it look like its real even though every one knows your'e full of shit.

    "Ten Homes" McCain is as needed in Washington now as he was in New Orleans during Hurricane Gustav. All he can do there is get in the way and fuck things up.

    The Obama Campaign needs to say they agree with John McCain that we should come together as Americans to work this out, which is why Obama called to issue a joint statement. Unfortunately, McCain's idea of coming together as Americans involves consulting with the CEOs who created this mess and then scurrying back to DC to hide beneath the paperwork. Obama's idea of coming together as Americans actually engages everyone, including a debate which is crucial in the decision of electing a President. We've had behind the doors politics for 8 years, McCain is suggesting more of the same.

    Now it would be funny as hell to have Bush and Cheney come out saying McCain is needed in Washington to save the nation from sure ruin.
    That's all McCain needs to sink his campaign for good.

    DAMN RIGHT it should go on. There is no reason on earth to let McCain weasel out of this. McCain KNOWS he will lose the election for sure if he debates on Friday. Waaa waaa waaaa!! Bloody COWARD!

    Drudge reports only 4 repub house members support Paulson plan. TPM reports it appears Treasury has caved on all the revisions requested and these revisions will be in any bill passed. These revisions include:

    * Government taking equity in companies taking government money for
    their toxic assets;

    * Government and court oversight;

    * Limits on exec comp;

    * Perhaps installments much less than $1,800,000,000,000 hand out;

    * Homeowner mortgage relief; and,

    * Bankruptcy promissory note relief

    If correct: Will Obama vote yes?

    McCain?

    Lastly, which, if any add-ons, will trigger a veto from our idiot in chief.

    This is exactly Obamas plan.

    He also wants job creation ie infrastructure projects and drafting of regulations to start in January.

    How long's the debate? An hour or so? Schedule it for DC, then. Maybe McCains not too good at "multitasking"....

    McCain joins the ranks of the fire-alarm pullers during college exam-time. These are the people who won't study for their exam no matter how much time they buy for themselves and end up failing no matter what. All they succeed in is wasting everyone else's time. Can't stand the heat, Mr. McCain? Then get out of the way. We don't have time for you.

    Vote quick vote on CNN:

    John McCain's request to delay campaigning and this week's debate is:

    An effort to help the economy 26% (21242)

    A political gimmick 69% (56283)

    Something else 5% (4019)

    Get thee to the debate, Goody McCain.
  • twostepcub · 1 year ago
    (probably was said many times before.....)

    Why don't they just change the name of the friday debate to a "town hall meeting".

    I'm sure McCain will drop everything for that.

    Oh and PS where has he been the last three days and what ideas is he bringing to the bailout plan?

    Yea, everyone is waiting for McCain (I really don't know much about the economy) to come back and negotiate the solution. He really does think we are all stupid!

    vote.

    Once again, Obama handles this like a champion. This stunt will only serve to further tie McCain to Bush even more. When the nation watches Bush tonight, they will only see McCain as a continuation of the last eight years.

    Both Repubs, and Dems agree on certain points of the bailout, -protect tax payers, do not reward CEO's. If these things are not met, and McCain agrees to them, McCain loses (tie with bush, vote against people's wishes)

    If McCain votes against Bush, he looks like an obstructionist.

    This is a lose, lose loser for McGrumpy Pants.

    I loved Obama's comment just now when he said, basically, we can multi task, we can have the debates, and still be of assistance if need be.
