AMERICAblog: People aren't bitter, they happy!

    Impressive.

Hell, I've been bitter since December of 2000. I got more bitter when Bush decided to launch an illegal invasion of another country with the help of the Democrats. The bitterness ratcheted up when I lost my job and couldn't get another one. Then, I got even more bitter when the Democrats took control of Congress and gave Bush a blow job that would have Monica blush.

I got even more bitter when I watched Hillary morph into Mitt Romney in a pant suit.

I get the snark with your headline " People aren't bitter, they happy" (btw shouldn't you have put "are" in there). Anyway, I wish you would have put a ? after the line instead of !.

Anybody who is happy and hopeful just isn't paying attention.

    panem et circenses

    Literally, "bread and circuses".

"From Juvenal, Satire X, line 81. Originally described all that was needed for emperors to placate the Roman mob. Today used to describe any entertainment used to distract public attention from more important matters." ( -src- )

Forget about Hillary's tax returns - WHERE ARE McCAIN'S MEDICAL RECORDS?????

That thing on his face/neck - is it lymphoma? A tumor? A goiter?

He doesn't look well - that needs to be pushed again and again - particularly as he picks a running mate, as that person will end up being president.

    Beer Bongs

    guns

You don't get it yet. She plans to offer McCain the vice-presidential spot on the Republican ticket. Makes me wonder how long before she demonstrates she can pee standing up and provides the medical records to prove Bill gave birth to Chelsea.

I just as soon get into that after the conventions, when the Repubs can't back out.

Right now, I still worry McCain's going to keel over and they'll give it to Romney.

(Remember, he "suspended" his campaign, didn't end it....)

So Hills has managed to turn the press away from her and Bill by twisting the comments of Obama. So far, Hillary has not said a damn thing worth listening too, she is only able to listen to her opponent and misconstrue his statements, yet her followers are blind to this. Makes me wonder about them.

From Drudge: "FLASHBACK: HILLARY 1999: Lobbies for Massive Gun Control..."

A lot of people have forgotten that Hillary tried to gut the second Amendment back in the 90's. If Barack can play this up, it will devastate her campaign. Billary is unbelievably unpopular in the South where gun rights are of prime importance. It's refreshing to see popular websites covering some of these issues that may have been forgotten. Shillary needs to be exposed for the fraud she is.

Give her a shotgun and see if Hillary can load it. Ask her what kind of ducks she apparently killed. Does she go outside her New York City condo and lie under the hedge and wait for ducks to land on the sidewalk? She will and has said anything to try and suck a vote out of America. Now she is doing shots and beer.
I am happy I haven't had more than a 2% raise in the last 4 years. I am thrilled that I can't quite afford to fill up the gas tank on my 19 year old pickup. I am ecstatic that my two kids have college loans (both graduated with honors) that they can't make a dent in because minimum wages are so generous. I skip laughingly down the lane knowing my kids don't have health care on $6 an hour. I cartwheel at the thought of trying to find the money for my property taxes. I give a cheer and high five hearing that Walmart are going to get a tax break by putting a super Walmart in town. But at night, at night, I lie in bed and wonder how this is all going to turn out. I make a little more than minimum wage and can't imagine how anyone can make it on $6 an hour. The PTSD being inflicted on poor and middle America will manifest itself in the coming years as money gets tighter, as food goes up, as heating costs go through the roof, as more and more people become homeless and have to rely on food kitchens and eating garbage behind the fast food restaurants.
Yeah---Be Happy for tomorrow may be a whole lot worse.

Wait just a damn minute, on Russert Mary Matlin is making the case that Obama is NOT the candidate because he cannot articulate accurately. WHAT! Clinton has "misspoke" how many times.? Once she even answered "I misspoke, I am human, okay" YET she and minions are going to make a point of Obama's use of the word "bitter". This is what they are basing his not being an electable candidate on? My god, Clinton outright lies, covers it with misspoke.

License and register all handgun sales
Hillary Rodham Clinton offered her support for a legislative proposal to license hand guns. The legislation, sponsored by Sen. Charles Schumer, would require anyone who wants to purchase a gun to obtain a state-issued photo gun license. “I stand in support of this common sense legislation to license everyone who wishes to purchase a gun,” Clinton said. “I also believe that every new handgun sale or transfer should be registered in a national registry, such as Chuck is proposing.” Source: CNN.com Jun 2, 2000

Guess you can be for and against gun control. You can be for and against NAFTA. You can be for and against going to Iraq. You can be for and against telling the truth.

Chris, you are on fire, what with this post and yesterday's notation on maintaining the lifestyle of Wall Street for the greater good of all.

    Thanks for the outrage!

I'm wondering if the Clintons have a lawn jockey on their estate in NY they enjoy while sipping their mint juleps and whistling "Dixie?"

And if Hillary is doing such a great job in upstate NY, why are so many coming down here to NC from Buffalo, Corning, etc?
  • nicho · 1 year ago
A great article on what the Clinton presidency would look like

    http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/du...

    Money quote:

A long-time associate of the Clintons, with whom Hillary has consulted in their quest to return to the White House, said early in her campaign: “She has a very plausible case for president. She had an eight-year super-graduate course in the presidency, a progressive platform…” He paused, and added: “ I’m not sure I want the circus back in town.”

That is what the Hillary for President campaign has become: the whole Clinton three-ring circus, with little evidence that moving back to the White House will alter that most basic fact.

    Good post.

I find myself entertained by the possibilities here. Hillary doing shots in Pennsylvania. What else might she be persuaded to do in her quest to prove that she is "regular folks"?

  • OlderAndWiser · 1 year ago
She was taught "to shoot" by a Rethug daddy as a little girl? Did he have to pull the trigger? Was there any recoil whatsoever? Did she do it in her Sunday best? Does she know the difference in guns? Was it a rifle or a shotgun? A hand gun? What kind? A machine gun? A gun is not just a gun is not just a gun...
  • lauren1959 · 1 year ago
Clinton his such a regular blue collar person. Good thing her father taught her to shoot as a child, I'm sure it came in handy when she had to return that fictitious sniper fire.

    Should we be concerned?

Hillary is describing Obama and his family as "elitist." Yes, Chris' post is PERFECT in describing how totally outrageous it is to try to exploit a simple mispeak into something that is so obviously not true. Imagine, Hillary Clinton who was lucky enough to have lived in the White House as First Lady describing an AFRICAN AMERICAN family, Barack Obama and his wife Michelle, as ELITIST? That is just laughable.

"Obama elitist and Clinton average, common man"

Ha! What a joke that is.

This lie is backfiring because its pointing out just how elitist, and establishment, the Clinton's have become.
  • misquetofarmer · 1 year ago
Hey you know what like it or not . Maybe a poor choice of words the bottom line is that Obama is right! I fully admit and embrace the fact that I am bitter. does it extend to racism? NO. I just happen to be one of a few that understands exactly what and why I am bitter at a fascist state of our government. Chris is on the money. Especially when he discusses the plight of those with no food. scary part is that while it is certainly worse in many countries its actually happening right here in America. Obama's remarks were not elitist as much as Hillary would like them to be and no matter how much flag she wraps her comments in it doesn't change the fact the some even Many people who have become hurt, bitter and disillusioned by the state of middle class economics. For many they in fact do lash out at others that are different then they. I have lost count of how many times I have heard working class people blame the joblessness on minorities. When given the facts they quickly realize, its not those struggling also, its those real elitist who have continued to stoke our dependency on foreign oil. and driven our national debt to nearly double what it has been. While it would be very comforting to think that this America that Hillary speaks of is real.. its JUST not reality. I do regret that Obama had not been more articulate. That hardly makes him an elitist.
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
no, no one's bitter or fed up or disgusted with how the GOPers have run this country into the ground ...
and people are sick of all the bush-bashing too...oh, and cheney is brilliant.
    riiiiiight.

Not only am I always happy, I'm really f*cking thrilled -- always. LOL

The sad thing is that some of these folks will now think, "That guy is slamming us by calling us 'bitter'." They'd prefer not to own up to the reality of the situation as they sit back in a broken down chair in their house they can barely afford the mortgage payements on who happen to be working two low paying jobs just to make ends meet. But, yeah, that guy doesn't know them. He's dead wrong.

No, they'll now vote for the woman whose husband deposited a $800,000 check -- more money than some of these folks will earn in their lifetime -- into their joint account that he earned for speaking in favor of trade agreements that took their former job away all because Obama said they're not the happy, shiney people that they are.

I dont give a damn about his lying face, I am much more interested in a full-blown psychiatric evaluation by impartial experts. I think Insane McCain's mental capacity is seriously depleted. In any case I wouldn't be voting for him, even if hell did freeze over. I wouldn't be voting for the white-trash bitch and corporate whore either, even if she does manage to steal the nomination. In that sad case I will be writing in the name of BARACK OBAMA!!!

    OT

    OldHippieChick,

At first I made the same mistake as you in creating a gravatar, with the same scrambled results.

On the "Some Tips For Making The New Comments Work" thread, I left instructions on how to do it right.

    Good luck.
