Terrific editorial! And right on the mark. As an older white woman, I would put all my eggs in the youth basket. After all, they're going to inherit years of their neglect by their elders, and they won't be as punitive as the old codgers who have been running the country.

Give them the best gift there is: a future.

Oklahoma superdelegate Reggie Whitten, the state party’s finance chairman, came out in support of Mr. Obama. Mr. Whitten joins two representatives from North Carolina and a House member from Indiana who endorsed Mr. Obama Wednesday.

Wow! This is a really well articulated endorsement. I love "unminced" commentary such as this.

I agree, was going to say the same as Patriot. Straighforward, and especially brings to the forefront the importance of "grace under fire" as well as the efficiency, and ESPECIALLY that at the end...we've had enough of "leader" that don't ever listen, or question themselves.

The "no flip-flopper" folk, do a disservice. It's one thing to be willy-nilly, or weakly decisive, that is not desirable, but to be stuck in a path even while having to ignore new information that refutes earlier assumptions...we've had more than enough of THAT, thanks.

"The liberal Philadelphia Daily News wants black people to rule over you"-Hillary in Scranton

Wow here too! That was very well thought out, well argued. I think this is the kind of article that should be forwarded around about Barack instead of "he doesn't wear a flag pin"/ "he's secretly going to take over the world" crap that floats around out there.

Oh but wait, this is logical and based on facts, I guess that's the difference...

An Obama administration would be freer of the the corrupting influence of big-money donors and corporate interests:

Wow. This was a very well articulated and supported editorial. I'm not used to the intelligence of journalists being so impressively demonstrated. Perhaps these people should have written the questions for the two ABC bozos last night.

I see one problem with your commentary. I'll grant that the media and the corporations, plus Hillary have stooped to the lowest levels to attack, even trash, or even more accurate Swiftboat Obama. I even fear that given that his campaign is 50% funded by the grassroots, the power eite will decide he is too much of a loose cannon threat that they are obligated to assassinate him. Yes, based on the opposition, he looks very good. When looking at Obama himself, I see a very intelligent, articulate, even-tempered, capable candidate. However, what I have yet to see is any clear indication of his real political agenda, in fact, most of the real evidence is that he is a corporate candidate like Hillary, McCain and even Bush. The corporations and power elite may well feel he is too dangerous and must be assassinated, but it still tells us nothing about the real Obama. Please don't make a saint out of him based only on what his enemies say. Obama is running on “change” and we are supposed to assume that he intends to go in the opposite direction of Bush, but perhaps the only thing he means is that it will be Obama instead of Bush signing the corrupt non-bid contracts to all the corporations. Worse, from what I've seen of his real position on the war, he has no intention of leaving Iraq any more than do Bush or Clinton.

That is one hell of an editorial.
