AMERICAblog: Planned Parenthood's new ad about rape kits

  • AngryOne · 1 year ago
Lost in the myriad accounts of Sarah Palin's jaw-dropping gaffes and mind-numbing misstatements in her interview with Katie Couric is Palin's all-too-familiar ploy when it comes to abortion. As in her chat with ABC's Charles Gibson, Palin passed off as merely a "personal" opinion her past calls for banning abortion even in cases of rape and incest. And it's not just Sarah Palin who wants to make that extremist view the law of the land; it's the stated platform of the Republican Party.

    For the details, see:
"Palin Dodges Draconian GOP Abortion Platform - Again - in Couric Interview."

TV ad? or just on internet?
  • truebluecoondog · 1 year ago
I've been WAITING for someone to track down some actual victims of this horrendous policy. I hope this runs on TV.

It took Planned Parenthood FOREVER to jump in on this, and that's all they came up with?
  • JETERFAN96 · 1 year ago
I expect the other shoe to drop when Joe lets Palin have it in the debate about the legislation he sponsored to end that practice.

Per TPM, this ad will be on television in WI, MN, and the northern Virginia markets. And bless Gwen for having the courage to show us the face of a woman who has been raped. I don't know Timmy, this may be a male/female thing because as a woman this ad enraged me all the more about Palin and McCain's treatment of women and broke my heart.

It could hit harder. And it should mention Biden. He sponsored that legislation. Otherwise, a good ad. Hopefully, it's a preview to a harder hitting ad. This is a winning issue for the Democrats. We should hit it hard. I mean, really, who's not going to support women who've been raped. Well, except for the McCain campaign, of course. But they're on the wrong side.

Don't shoot your wad all at once....save Joe for a later ad.

Fair enough. I'm with you as long as there's a later ad.

Can you imagine how much the Johnny Cat-Caribou Barbie campaign wishes they could run an ad like this about Senator Obama?

Excellent ad. Simple, direct, and personal.

There should be no rape kits at all. We all know that women are devious and cause these things to happen to them because of their own evilness. It should take four male witnesses before a man can be charged with rape. We all know that loose women will not cover their evil bodies and show flesh or face because they fail to wear burkah. No, the woman should be stoned for reporting the rape since it is obvious that she has been immoral.

I am Sarah Palin and I agree with this response.

Some awesome new Time/CNN battleground state polls to make you smile here

This is a very good ad that should have been jumped on sooner. The only problem that I saw with it was that they didn't credit Joe Biden with writing the legislation, which I would like to have seen. Otherwise, I thought it was hard hitting and to the point, and deffinately made people listen and think. It shows that these two individuals have no interest in protecting WOMENS rights.
