UPDATED: OBAMA +5 Gallup, +6 superdelegates, 1.5 million donors - Cinco Celebration

Mon May 05, 2008 at 10:39:22 AM PDT
Barack Obama has wiped away almost 1/3 of Clinton's superdelegate lead in one day.

He just picked up endorsements from Maryland superdelegates Michael Cryor and Lauren Dugas Glover.

Earlier today, Kalyn Free, DNC and organizer of the Indigenous Democratic Network (INDN List), endorsed Obama

"Today, I am casting my support for a new kind of leadership and a new possibility of what America can be. Barack Obama is a once-in-a-generation kind of leader and the best hope the American people have to rebuild the erosion our collective foundation has endured the last eight years. In 2008, we must elect a President who will restore our faith in the possibilities of each and every American, including the First Americans."
Obama is also about to formally pick up 3 more superdelegates from Illinois around 2pm today: Barbara Flynn Currie, Todd Stroger and Richard Daley. (I thought he got these yesterday, but the formal announcement comes after the meeting today).

BANGALORE (Reuters) - Bank of America Corp (BAC.N: Quote, Profile, Research) will likely lower its purchase price for Countrywide Financial Corp (CFC.N: Quote, Profile, Research), at least two analysts said, with Friedman, Billings Ramsey saying the bank may cut its price to the $0 to $2 level or even walk away from the deal.

Shares of Countrywide, the largest U.S. mortgage lender, fell nearly 16 percent to $5.04 in afternoon trade on the New York Stock Exchange after Friedman downgraded Countrywide to "underperform" from "market perform."

A-bloggers, while you're donating to Scott Kleeb, won't you help make a difference in FL-12?

Ya know Adam Putnam? Third-ranking Republitard in the House?

Well, he has a committed, qualified progressive opponent this year.

    Doug Tudor.
    Retired Navy Master Chief.
    Flagwriter for three CENTCOM commanders.
Thirty visits to Iraq, Afghanistan and the Horn of Africa.
    Man of the people.
    Advocate of peace.

    More info at www.teamtudor.org

    You can donate at https://secure.actblue.com/contribute/entity/19447

And PLEASE petition John to include Doug on Americablog. I guess my emails as a volunteer aren't getting his attention. Thanks!

Is it incredibly shallow of me to point out that Scott Kleeb is a stud?
  • John Aravosis · 1 year ago
It may be shallow, but he is. And I've met him in person :-)
  • graymatter · 1 year ago
Hi, John. Any chance of getting your support for Doug Tudor in FL-12? I know you'd like to see Adam Putnam sent home to Redneck Corners. Please help.

Don't get me wrong. Scott Kleeb would make a great U. S. Senator (even if he does show poor judgment in supporting Obama) and would have made a great U. S. Congressman. But taking on -- and scaring the hell out of -- an empty suit Republican in a race for an open congresional seat does not quite measure up to running against a popular two-term Republican Governor.

If Scott Kleeb makes it through the Democratic primary (and that's not a given) it would take a miracle (and then some) for him to beat Mike Johannes, who gave up the governorship to serve as Secretary of Agriculture until the Senate seat opened up when Chuck Hagel decided not to seek a third term. I'd love to see Scott Kleeb win but I don't believe in miracles.

I got a postcard from Tom Allen just today. Not begging for any money but just thanking me for the donation I gave a month or so ago.Time to pony back up for Kleeb again. He's running against a DINO in the primary. Fuck that. GO KLEEB!

And what was up with Human Rights Campaign endorsing Susan Collins? What a pathetic bunch HRC has become.
