AMERICAblog: Politico: Palin's a liar

  • grandma · 1 year ago
McCain/Palin/Rove don't care if it's truth or not....get the meme out there....repeat it often enough......til it sticks.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
There you go being sexist again, John.

    (snark)
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
Palin, meanwhile, has requested $3.2 million to be spent in part researching the “genetics of harbor seals,” in one of the state’s many requests for federal funding of research into Alaska’s fauna....

    That's pretty funny, actually.

    Why does she care?

She wants to kill all the state's animals anyway.
  • DonQ · 1 year ago
My guess on this one is that Palin wants to use federal funds for research to undermine the protection of these species. Anybody have any knowledge of the biological research Palin wants to fund? (Human/dinosaur tandem footprint studies?)
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    BTW:

Why didn't she request money for a study into why Alaska has the highest incidence of Rape and Incest in the nation?
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
Why would they want to know the answer?
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    So they can stop it.

They do want to stop it, don't they?

    (BTW:

I'm learning so much about Alaska these days.

Looks like Alabama finally has a state it can look down on.)
  • Rab · 1 year ago
Because she might just find out more about "the first dude" than she wants to know.
  • DonQ · 1 year ago
Because that might be seen as an attack on Small Town Values(TM).

    Palin's a liar.

In other news, the sky is blue.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
Maybe she wants the seals to proliferate so that they can be hunted down and their pelts used to smother PETA activists?? Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of Repub men and women.
I'd say as long as the election is about seals, then the Repubs win...
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
nice journalists need to go there because we are sunk if these jokers win this election.

do you want liars running this country or do you not?
do you see where we are after 8 years of liars running this country? come. on.

She may yet be ushered in as vp if things continue to go down the drain...

She's also lying about the "Surge" when she says it kept us from being defeated in Iraq by Al Queda.
  • An_American_Karol · 1 year ago
Again, McCain succeeded in getting Obama off target with this nonsense. MSM is loving it. It's much easier to talk about lipstick on pigs than to actually understand economics, policy, and the lead up to an unlawful, illilegal war.
    Way to go, McUnAmerican.

Among many things that Palin says about the bridge to nowhere that are ingenuous, perhaps the most ingenuous is her assertion that she told Congress "Thanks but no thanks." As if Congress were trying to force Alaska to take federal money against its wishes. Its truly silly to assert that the feds were trying to force Alaska to build the bridge without at least a little encouragement from Alaska, and much more likely some political stiff arming on the part of the state government and its Republican Congressional delegation.
  • MNUSA · 1 year ago
Thanks, but we will pay for our own bridge, but we'll keep the money nevertheless.

Sigh.. Half truths.. Of course.. what else should we expect from the party that doesnt want people to have to show ID's when voting.. since you are not intelligent enough to do it.. I will post the rest of the story...

Let's start with John McCain, who has a 100% approval rating on pork-barrel spending for the 2007 legislative season, according to Citizens against government waste. His lifetime score is 88%. What this basically means is that in 2007, John McCain voted with the taxpayers 100% of the time. This means that over his years in the Senate, John McCain voted with the taxpayers 88 out of every 100 votes. And when I say "with the taxpayers" I essentially mean he voted in a way that would allow taxpayers to keep their money, rather than spend it on frivolous government pork projects.

Just in case you weren't aware, Mr. Obama ... you scored a 10% rating in 2007 and an 18% lifetime rating. Oh and your running mate, Joe Biden, he actually managed to score a 0% rating in 2007. These really seem like a pair of guys that are trying to create change in Washington. These really look like the people who are looking out for you, the taxpayers.

When it comes to Sarah Palin, we've been through the specifics on this Bridge to Nowhere crap. In fact, the Democrat Party in Alaska acknowledges that it was Sarah Palin who finally scrapped the bridge. That website, by the way, disappeared for a while, until pressured to re-post the page (which they did, only at a different address). But just as a little side note ... guess who DID vote for the Bridge to Nowhere. Barack Obama and Joe Biden. Why doesn't the media bring THAT to your attention. Even when given a second chance to shift the funds to Katrina relief programs, Obama and Biden still voted for the Bridge to Nowhere. While John McCain did not end up voting on the amendment, he is on record opposing the earmark.

When it comes to Sarah Palin's record of reform ... let's just look at earmarks, since this is something that Palin and her Senate opponents have in common. Before Sarah Palin's time as governor, the state of Alaska used to request over 100 earmarks each year to be secured by Alaska's congressional delegation. When it came time for Sarah Palin to request her earmarks for the first time as governor ... she slashed that number by half, requesting 54 earmarks. The next year, Palin cut that number AGAIN down to just 31 earmarks. Of those 31 earmarks, 27 of these are continuous or were previously appropriated. When Palin entered the governor's office, the total amount of quests averaged $550 million a year. That number has been reduced to less than $200 million now that Palin is in office. And it would only continue to decline. One of Palin's stated goals as Governor is to ask Congress for no more than a dozen earmarks for her state. On top of all that, Palin insisted that each earmark requested by the state of Alaska demonstrate an important federal purpose and public support. Whenever possible, Palin wants to have earmarks only if they can be matched by state or local budgets. And her administration is currently re-examining previous decisions on transportation earmarks ... the Alaska Department of Transportation is conducting an audit to determine the status of every single one of its recent earmarks.

You need to get your facts right. Biden and Obama di vote for the bill in the beginning because there were other thing in the bill that were about the needs of the American people. They did not vote on the second bill which would have seen money to New Olean because there were other things added to the bill by Republican which would have cost the tax payer more. The Katrina issue should have been a different thing. Not in a loaded bill by the Republican. bY The way Congress kill the bridge to know where not Gov. Palin. Some funds were sent to Alaska but not all the money for this bridge. A far as her not asking for earmarks she has gotten more money than any other state base on population. By those standards she has gotten a ton of earmark money. Get you fact right before you write about it Knowledge is power and not having to knowledge makes you powerless just as a lot of voter who will vote for the Republican party because a women is on the ticket. There are plenty of Rebublican Women who are more qualified than she is.

Wow!!!!!!!! You define why America is falling quickly... If you knew what you were talking about as much as you sound like you know it would be amazing. I think you need to go back and do your reserch again because its WRONG. When you use specific numbers and quotes you had better be right or you are no better than Bin ladin, for our country please find the correct information and make a educated not opinionated decision you fool or just find another country to live in and help them screw it up.
  • paige · 1 year ago
The thing of it is, I'm sure the seal study is a valuable one: I;m sure I'd fully support it as a useful outlay of taxpayer dollars. The health of Alaska's wildlife is important to all Americans, whether they realize it or not. So why act like it's an outrage? The bridge to nowhere was an obvious outrage. Just a way for high-ranking government officials to line their and their corporate cronies pockets with taxpayer dollars- kind of like Iraq. Truth is, the only kind of government spending Republicans like is the wasteful kind. Let's spend $400 million to build a bridge serving 50 people while bridges serving millions collapse into rivers.

Campaign Message #1: They Attack Because They Have No Ideas. The Obama campaign did an excellent job with that message in the couple of days following the RNCC, but they've lost it in the past few days. They need to get back to it.

Too bad we can't demand psychological testing for our candidates. She's beginning to sound like a sociopath. Anyone who finds it so easy to lie worries me.

Please help me understand the wisdom behind John McCain's selection of Sarah Palin:

He only met her twice before picking her.

Her executive experience consists of firing Walter Monegan for not firing her ex-brother-in-law and raising more than $25M in earmarks for Wasilla and more than $500M in earmarks for Alaska (the highest per capita in the country).

Her national security experience consists of "heading up" the Alaskan National Guard for which she's never made a major decision for and she hunts Moose.

Her foreign policy experience consists of knowing that hers is the closest state to Russia.

She is such a fierce reformer that she can take on the Establishment in Alaska and later on in Washington but she can't take on an interview with the biased left-wing media nor speak directly with voters.

If this is the person John McCain has selected to be a heartbeat and a 5th battle with cancer away from becoming America's next president, then I have a shorter one for you:

    McCain's INSANE!

    Sarah Palin: Fantasy to Nowhere.

Why is it that ABC has the breaking news about Alaska's fired Police Chief and CNN doesn't have it? Because they are Palin Lovers. She is going to go down in a flame of fire, and probably won't even have the Governor's position when it is all said and done. But CNN praises her like she has already won the vice-presidency! It is disgusting and beneath any news network.

Some repoter should ask since she says shes a very devote christian if she lives by the ten commandments and if she says yes I belive those are god's laws ask her what happens when you blatantly break one or more of these laws if she says your soul is to burn for all eternity in hell then ask her if that includes thuo shalt not bear false witness..i.e blatntly lie would love to see that interveiw... not tomeantion goin out in a plane and slaughtering animals for nothing more than blood lust and sport..isnt that against her pro life stance or is it her choice to do somethin like that
  • cmccbald · 1 year ago
You quote: "Palin requested millions of federal dollars for everything from improving recreational halibut fishing to studying the mating habits of crabs and the DNA of harbor seals."

Let me see if I've got this straight. John McCain thinks it was wrong of Barack Obama to support a program to help children deal with sexual predators, but he thinks Palin is right to have government promote the mating habits of crabs.
Which means, I guess, that crabs are more important than kids.

    OK.

Is this a great nation or what?
  • pitts_eugene · 1 year ago
To go in detail about her lies would be a waste of time. She is typical Republican, do anything to get into office. Ladies of America if you don't see that you are being use as a pawn in the game of lies I feel sorry for our country. You were fooled by Bush and look what it cost all of us . Are you going to be fool again. It will be more of the same if McCain is elected. For eight years all of us have suffered and now they are trying to blame the Democratic Congress for this mess. Remember it was the Republican Congress that gave The President a blank check. The Democrates had very little power at that time. For what I have read and fresearch about Palin she has just as much mess with her as the President. Women of America don't be fooled.
  • pitts_eugene · 1 year ago
John is right she has lied not once but many times just as Bush has. These people will continue to lie if know one call them on it. The American people need people to be honest. These people are very dishonest. The thing that get me when people have been ask question about her and their answer were all good. These were white women and minorities. Ask a minority about her and sure your answer would be different. These women I'm sorry they have children and it's those children who will have to pay for this mess and possibly their children. Ladies wake up, get over the feel good feeling you are feeling. A good feeling is not going to make your children better in the future. Remember that you children have friend of many other races and live in a world that is the same way. Don't let your pass deprive your children from have a better like because you feel good about a women being on the ticket. Sure it's great to have a women on the ticket.. I'm a retired Army soldier that say that with know reservation because 3 great women raise me. Their were better choices and she wasn't one of them. Senator Clinton was a good choice. Gov. Palin is know Hilary Clinton. Wise up soccer mom.
