AMERICAblog: Polls show voters losing trust in Clinton

OT: just lost my dinner watching Katie Couric interview Colin Powell. He is chairing some bullshit group trying to raise money for education of kids. There he was did she ask him why he lied about the run up to the war, did she ask him why he never showed remorse and quit earlier, did she ask him anything about the Trillions being pissed away in Iraq. No not our Katie girl. She just nodded and listened to him talk about having to compete with China and Asia for jobs. What a total failure as a human being. We are mired in a war in which he is complicit and he is talking about money to educate kids. Well Colon we would have money for education if you had not decided that you would lie and send our young men and women to Iraq so they could be killed and mutilated. What about them you assblanket. Another example of how the media just doesn't get it. We need a trip to Basra with Katie, Wolf, Hannity, O'Reilly, Limbaugh, Russert, Mathews, Carlson, Clinton, McCain all the drum beaters for this war. Put them on the front line for 15 months and then let them tell us if pursuing a war in Iraq is good for this nation and for our men and women.

"Hillary and the Hillbots" better start looking around for a recording contract because the election is OVER for them.

The thing that's sad for Hillary is that in the last month I have been hearing on the radio and around the reality-based community from may who voted for Hhillary who are now regretting it.
She really needs to put aside her ego.
America is not going to for another ego-centered president.
Someone needs to tell Hillary that the 90s are over. And so are her chances of winning.

Clinton lied about Bosnia, and it's not going away. It's overshadowed the Jeremiah Wright controversy; after all, Obama didn't say those things, his pastor did.
But Clinton outright LIED. And people don't like candidates who LIE, and the Clintons already have some experience at this...

I can't imagine what its like for Bill to be around her now, they both know its over and she must be crushing his grapes every night. The self-appointed president isn't going to be president and on top of that she has to go back to a congress for the most part didn't want her to be president. YES.

Rev. Wright is a key topic in this campaign. As much as people want to reduce it to a few soundbytes, it is bigger than that. You are so quick to ding Clinton for her Bosnia comments, yet those are one moment in time recalled incorrectly. Obama sat and listened to this man and his rhetoric over and over and over. Then he decided he was so inspired that he would write a book and launch his campaign. This is about judgement. Repeated demonstrations of poor judgement from Obama. He didn't know what the anti-gay minister was like. He didn't know what the anti-American minister was like. (oops, he did it again!)
If you think that string of bad judgements will hold up against a few McCain "senior moments" you are mistaken. It is a "key topic" and should be a key topic. Right up there with the Obama campaigns need to block the votes in Michigan and Florida.

Bosnia is one moment in time recalled incorrectly?????? she repeated the story at least 4 times!!!!!! Error in recall would be saying the wrong year or wrong city, she made up a story! then she and her flunkies defended the story saying it did happen that way. It was not until the video came out she tried to say it was a 'mistake'. The pilot and the girl have come out to refute her story. You are calling a Marine with 3 Presidential citations 'anti- American'???? We don't need a president with 'a few senior moments', we don't need a president with 'memory impairment' or 'sleep deprivation' or senile. The choice is obvious, get used to saying President Obama ( or you can call him President Hussein if you like)

NAFTA is, yes, another thing that came up, and there's proof she was all for it, as well as her lie about SCHIP (with which she did absolutely nothing), proof there as well. The fact is, Clinton is trying to cash in on Bill's presidency, and it's not going to wash. She can puff up her resume all she wants, but being in the public eye for those 8 years in DC, well, there will be video, the written word, etc., etc. Obviously, she underestimates evidence.

you're an idiot.
"Obama sat and listened to this man and his rhetoric over and over and over. Then he decided he was so inspired that he would write a book and launch his campaign. This is about judgement."- YOU'VE been listening to soundbytes that the MSM has dug up on Wright. Funny, if his rhetoric has been that HATEFUL for YEARS as you suggest... why did hillary and bill invite him to the WHITE HOUSE???!?! love to hear an answer on that one.
moving on...
"If you think that string of bad judgements will hold up against a few McCain "senior moments" you are mistaken. It is a "key topic" and should be a key topic. if hillary wasn't on the ballot in Michigan or Florida... would you want to count all the votes as FOR OBAMA??
he wasn't on the ballots... how can you count the votes in a primary where one of the TWO NOMINEES isn't EVEN ON THE FRICKING BALLOT!
I'd be ALL for a re-vote in BOTH states... you want to know why? SHE CAN'T WIN THEM!
fricking idiot.
now, national polls are showing that REPUBLICANS are saying that Obama has a better chance beating mccain than hillary does.
would you rather have mcSAME for four more years? are you as self-centered as hillary seems to be? because that's what SHE seems to want.

The reputation of all the Clintons is devastated. More and more is coming out about their utter corruption during the 90's. You may be too young to remember the daily scandals and indictments that rocked their Administration. Billary almost bankrupt the economy. Now most people identify these adulterers with the 'blue dress'. Thank God for reporters like Matt Drudge who had the guts to be politically incorrect and expose these slime.

It's worth saying again, the nomination was hers to loose and she did. How did she do something that dumb? It's a tough question to ask but the answer is almost transparent, Hillary has very bad advisors. Poor thing. Imagine Hillary in the Oval Office with the same set of advisors she thinks can snag the nomination for her? Eeek! No, Hillary! No!
Mike_H
I really see the moment she lost the campaign as Bill's fault. His first attacks on Barack Obama in South Carolina were a real turning point in both Hillary's campaign and in Barack's.
Before that point, Hillary had run a nearly flawless campaign and was positioning herself against the GOP. After that point, Barack started to gain steam and her team failed to adjust to the new dynamic, and has been making mis-step after mis-step.
It's one of those things that can't be planned for, a zeitgeist that didn't fall her way, her husband, the supposed asset, turning into her Achilles' heel. And I think her advisors have been trying to convince her that it's still winnable and that she's the better candidate against the GOP than Obama. And I think it's incredibly hard for her -- or for any candidate that got so far -- to think differently.
When you think about the historic nature of her campaign, and the countless women inspired by her chance at breaking the ultimate glass ceiling, and all the feminist hopes riding on her shoulders... it really is about more than just her, and it's really really hard to let that go.
The same is/would be true about Barack and the black community were their situations reversed. We're making it all very personal but forgetting the humanity of the people involved.

Obama, Clinton deadlock-breaker: 'Breakfast club"
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer wants to see the race for the Democratic presidential nomination wrapped up before the national convention this summer. And he has an idea of how to do it.
I won't be voting in November 'cause I hate them all. They're all the same.
Sarah B.
alexa
You're perfectly welcome to "hate them all" -- but all presidential candidates are not the same.
One of the presidential candidates, if elected, will appoint clones of right-wing conservatives Roberts, Scalia, Thomas, Kennedy, and Alito to the United States Supreme Court.
And one of the presidential candidates, if elected, will appoint Justices like Ginsburg, Stevens, Breyer, and Souter. And that candidate would be my choice.
If you want right-wing wackjobs on the high court, then stay home and increase the likelihood that McCain will win.
One candidate has stated his desire to bomb Iran and to keep U.S. soldiers in Iraq for the next 100 years.
The other presidential candidate(s) have advocated for the timely withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq in a responsible manner by a date certain.
Is that what you really want? I'm not willing to take that chance.

Murdoch’s Daughter Hosts Obama Fund-Raiser
Ms. Murdoch is one of a slew of “event chairs,” which also includes Gwyneth Paltrow, for the April 28 event at Ms. Murdoch’s home in Notting Hill. David Blood, who runs an investment fund with former Vice President Al Gore that specializes in environmentally-friendly companies, is also listed as an “event host.”
She is married to Matthew Freud—great-grandson of Sigmund Freud—a prominent public relations executive in London.
BINGO!! I agree with you. The longer this goes on the more I learn about the Clintons and I expect to learn a great deal more in the next few months.

Polls show voters losing trust in Clinton
Presidential campaigns in America are about winning the hearts and minds of the majority -- or even a plurality -- of Americans, and Hillary has failed miserably on both counts.
Barack Obama is running an inclusive "We, Us, Our" campaign, while Hillary is running an exclusive "I, Me, Mine" campaign, and the public clearly prefers the "We" message over the "I" message.

Sarah B, Aq2, Mirth...look what TPM picked up on ....
I responded to your link regarding the Jerry Zeifman interview on the thread below, and I must say that it's impressive because of its emphasis on Hillary's pattern of lying and exaggerating and dishonesty and incompetence over decades.
It shouldn't be too difficult for the MSM to follow up on this story -- and even do on-air interviews with Zeifman -- if only they weren't so lazy.
Still, Josh Marshall is one of the most highly-respected bloogers on the internets -- and the MSM types do pay attention to him -- so maybe if they see the Zeifman story posted at TPM, they will summon the energy to take it to the next level...cable news and progressive talk radio!
I hope so, because it's a very newsworthy story and the public would benefit from exposure to the information.

Your statements on Wright are inflammatory, these were sound bites taken from selected speeches over 20 years and in the speeches I read, these comments were NOT meant to be inflammatory. Clinton's own minister has praised Wright, scholars have praised Wright so what is your problem---that Obama attended regular church services? Clinton's own religious practices leave some doubt in my mind, but I judge her on everything but her faith.
