AMERICAblog: Privatization fails over and over in the UK

  • Butch1 · 4 months ago
Privatization is designed by the rich to make the rich richer. Is it any wonder why we are up against the biggest insurance lobbyists fighting against us regarding health care in this country? They do not want to lose their fortunes and if they have to compete with a "not for profit" single payer national health care system, they know they will lose. We need to keep on our so-called representatives and senators.

if only we could learn that in the U.S.

Yeah, we all know that privatization of just about everything is a colossal failure.

Can we get back to the fact that the UK transport secretary is called "LORD ADONIS?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!"

Seriously. A man who isn't in charge of the Thunderdome is happy to be called Lord Adonis.

    OK, then.

You get on with your nasty self, Lord Adonis.

    Lord. Adonis. Sheesh.

A lot of it is the failure to see the forest through the trees. Its just the people who see the forest are called Cassandra and cast out or denounced as negative nellies.

I was in a paint store, and they have these plastic lids now which according to the girl mixing the paint is some sort of environmental thing. If it was an "environmental thing," I imagine its to prevent rust on the edge of the lid so the paint doesn't seep out if its just left in a garage, shed, or basement, but the answer to that is to create more plastic, decreasing worldwide petroleum reserves, instead of using a reusable material. Now those plastic tops are uselss and will degrade poisoning the environment for centuries. I'm sure some legislator is patting himself on the back for his great idea.

Privatization has only one out come: to make it more expensive.

It is mathematically impossible for private business to offer a service for less than a government entity.

What has America come to when right-wing ripoff artists are allowed on the air to recite obvious lies without any refutation or rebuttal with reality?

All the while ignoring the one massive state-owned enterprise that could be privatised with no customer impact whatsoever: the Church of England.
Of course, it would have been better to do it before the value of all the real estate the church has tied up with empty churches crashed.
I'd like to see bishops realising that they can be replaced by someone from eastern europe who'll do the same job for half the pay.
