AMERICAblog: Rachel Maddow is thankful that George Bush and Dick Cheney are leaving

  • hawkseye · 12 months ago
Rachel is a sweetheart and an antidote to the poison of the far right.
  • dad · 12 months ago
thankful for all that and Rachel, too.

If I were religious I would say Amen. Who else but Rachel could we count on to do the hard work to compile such a list?

You know, we have to invent a new word for atheists and agnostics who want to express an "Amen" without saying it.
    Any ideas?

You could try "So be it" which is what "amen" means in Hebrew.

Terrible, terrible content. But brilliant presentation. Hopefully more like Rachel will surface in the future.

I think about how much better the world would be if George Bush and Dick Chenet had never been born.

Wow. So did any ethical people manage to slip by the Bush radar and do anything worthwhile for our country the past 8 years?
  • triple7s · 12 months ago
Only OUTSIDE of the bush administration.

Don't you just LOVE it? Rachel is able to spend 5 minutes rattling off a list of Bush Administration scandals. I counted 27 names of administration officials who had to resign in disgrace. A list of scandals that takes five minutes to read, and yet it still doesn't include Cheney or Bush, their failure to get Bin Laden, the lies that got us into their phony war, Katrina, nor any of the other disasters they have inflicted upon us. What a national disgrace Bushco has been!

And then take a look at Barak and Michelle on Barbara Walters. No bozo that can't put a complete sentence together. No rigid matron with a frozen smile. The contrast to George and Laura couldn't be more striking. As we watched Barak and Michelle last night we kept commenting on how wonderful it is going to be to actually look forward to watching the First Family on the news.

Oh, and just for George and Sarah, now that you're going to have some time on your hands, try sounding it out. Think of two words you already know. Think of the words "new" and "clear". It's "nuclear", not "new - kya - ler". OK? Work on it.

We should not let this be the first and only drumbeat...good for RM!

I just can't believe that so many let so many criminal activities go on for so long...oh wait, it's just changed venue, hasn't it? From DC to Wall St.

It will be interesting to see if there's just a "forgive and forget" mentality in DC come Jan. 20, 2009.

I'd be far more thankful if they were both leaving in handcuffs.
  • stefanzo · 12 months ago
I'd be even more thankful is they left NOW - the handcuffs would be bonus.

    Something to ask Santa for!
  • curlytoes79 · 12 months ago
Maybe they'll cuff them once they walk out of the White House for the last time, like those pedophiles in "To Catch a Predator."

Just after the elections, George W. and Laura Bush sat for an interview for the “National Day of Listening” sponsored by StoryCorp. The questioning was put forth by, incredibly, Bush’s own sister, Doro. Bush’s whiney, defensive answers to perfectly innocuous questions put forth by his own sister is only the least of what has to be the most perfect delineation of Bush’s psychopathology and complete, messy divorce from reality.

So sit back and witness the disintegration of a human mind in this "Interview With Big Brother."

She didn't mention Michael Brown of FEMA fame who resigned after allegations that he falsified his resume or Kyle Sampson and Monica Goodling who resigned after the DoJ scandal. I'm not complaining---just more to be thankful for.

I call on George W Bush and Dick Cheney to resign, without delay.

Is all that written down somewhere? I'd like to send it to my right wing friends.
