Keith is treading on thin ice tonight. It's one thing to point out how bat-shit crazy the sect that Palin follows is, it's quite another to mock them. It can create a far worse backlash.

Of COURSE I am watching it! I met the man who was to become my husband because of Unfiltered! (long story... we met online because of Unfiltered)

When Unfiltered was cancelled... They gave away UF t-shirts, my friend Connor got the last one... we decided that as a group of bloggers, we wanted closure,,, so Connor said he would be willing to have everyone sign his short. I figured out a way to do it. Basically, we had a *community* based t-shirt tour... fans of the show mailed the shirt to each other after they signed it.. It went to pretty much every shore of the country. PEople like Rachel MAddow, Lizz and Chuck made that happen... I never left her. She is a gift to the progressive movement.

BTW... Rach was one of the people on the list to sign that shirt. She is a wonderful person.

Gov. Sarah Palin will not be subpoenaed as part of the Trooper-Gate investigation. Rep. Jay Ramras, a Republican on the committee overseeing the Troopergate probe said that issuing a subpoena for a vice-presidential candidate "would be disrespectful, inappropriate and bad form."

Who knows? Who's gonna pay for the test? Certainly the municipality won't. It's Alaska, the State won't. I would imagine the've legislated HIV from insurance coverage. Probably have a lot of untested people. If tested, may become outcasts. Kinda scary.

This is a public health question. How did Sarah's town deal with HIV when she was mayor? Was HIV addressed in anyway in that town's public health policies? Is testing available??? Considering the fact that unprotected sex is seems to be a problem there....

Buchanan is an employee of NBC, I think, so they place him wherever they want him and, very probably, RM has nothing to say about it. But did you notice what they named his 'segment'? "It's Pat!"

Isn't that what Julia Sweeney's SNL character "Pat's" segment was also called? Do you remember him/her? The androgynous one?

I wonder if they did it on purpose? Ya' think?

Rachel rocks! (And this gay boy think she looked fabulous, if anyone cares.) Her show was pretty understated, considering that much of it was a reprisal of the Obama interview from the hour before -- and I wish they'd actually had Obama do the interview with Rachel instead of Keith, because that would have made for a great debut. But she probably had enough to deal with without working on that, too.

And I expect we'll see Fake Uncle Pat as a regular on her show. They both obviously enjoy the back-and-forth they've developed on the MSNBC election night panel. I don't mind that, because she manages to show him up and he knows it, but he enjoys getting to play his role and she gets to win the arguments. A win-win for them both.

Pat actually knows better-- his magazine, The American Conservative, is very good and has had some of the best ongoing criticism of Bush and the Iraq war. Pat is playing the role of the Republican antagonist on those shows; sometimes the mask slips and you can tell he kind of likes Obama.
