smells like a landslide. The more people hear about Obama the more they like him.
of course Obama can still screw it up (hillary as vp for example) and its a long time between now and election day, but its looking good.
of course, I'm sure the right wing are holding some kind of october surprise, and if they arent, they will make one up (osama tape anyone?)

Yeah, I bet Bush and Cheney regret getting rid of the fear color scale thing they used to use last time around. When ever they saw support slipping, it was code orange. Maybe they will bring that back.....I smell Duct Tape and plastic wrap in the air.......

I have a hunch that most Floridians, like Californians, do not want off-shore drilling of their state, and I notice that when McBush pushes it for FL, he says that the governor is for it. This could be a good issue for Obama in FL.

This is good news Joe, though it's still way early to know which way it'll go. I look forward to your poll analysis over the next few months.
And to anybody that wasn't around and hasn't seen Joe eat up polls and spit out great analysis, stick around. Joe knows his shit on this and does an awesome job.

Hold onto your enthusiasm...they've got Mister Diebold all set with new software.

That only really works if they can manufacture the appearance of closeness. At this point, if trends continue the way they are, Obama will be so heavily favored on election day that even diebold couldnt give this to McCain without more than a few raised eyebrows.

Zenn: The " appearance of closeness" to which you refer can be " manufactured" and may now be manufactured, BY THE POLLING RESULTS!! See my previous comment ( about two minutes ago ) regarding the efficacy of today's polling methodology and perhaps you will agree with my thesis.

Well perhaps but they did it very well in 2000. God knows what red states were actually Gore's that year. All the attention was on FL

McCain is losing ground by the minute... He'll be lucky to win ten states in the general when all is said and done... and nine of those will be courtesy of Diebold... The other state will be won by handing out cash at the ballot box. Gramps is toast... D.

I saw them, my gentle brothers and sisters. They now gather outside the gate with black dull eyes. I saw that vision. They mean us all harm. To murder us. I saw what they're thinking. It's very cold and calculating.

I saw them from the ones who suddenly appeared here. I can get a sense of them. They're operatives from the christianists.

OK, I'm crazy, but it stopped and I don't know why. About half is now gone from me toward them. Something else before it's finally all gone. This from a lifetime will all be theirs now and from all of those who've suffered.

OK, it picked up again and finished but I still don't know what it means. I sent out a lifetime of suffereing by my community to them. It still feels like more to come.. Yeah.

I still can't get rid of it all. I sit as perfectly still and let it flow out toward them. There is still much more. I will channel it. I don't speak for them but it's there.

As a Florida resident, and living in the 16th congressional district...I have donated to each and every ine of these great people, and also my own congressman who is a Democrat, but I wish he was more Progressive than he is...and get out of the Blue Dogs, as I have told him so on numerous occasions.

CAUTION! BEWARE THE POLLS! How can any telephone poll be accurate when LAND LINES ARE USED EXCLUSIVELY? 80% of telephone users today are using mobile phones so how are they registered in the polls? How do the demographics break when land line users are contrasted with mobile phone users? The answer to this question will reveal the trend and accuracy of the polling "results" being publicized.

Agreed, Ron. But with the demographics on cell-exclusive users dominated by the <35 set, Obama should have no worries there.

This post indicates that Kosmas is unopposed running for the Democratic Party nomination for the 24th District seat but I read BradBlog frequently and I see election-rigging whistleblower Clint Curtis is challenging Kosmas for the right to go up against crooked Tom Feeney. This is an excerpt from Clint Curtis's blog (http://clint-curtis.blogspot.com/) at his website, comparing himself with Kosmas:
"DIFFERENCES IN THE CANDIDATES (Susan Kosmas v. Clint Curtis)
I am a true progressive Democrat who represents todays political climate that is embracing real and meaningful change. Changes necessary to improve the lives and opportunities for all citizens. My wealth is in my tenacity and independence.
Most individuals run for public office because they are driven to make immediate changes, a few run in order to benefit themselves.
Ms. Kosmas describes herself as a conservative who has served in the state Legislature for eight years. What she fails to tell you is that in her first six years as a legislator, she did not sponsor or co-sponsor a single bill. In her last two years of office she co-sponsored the resolution supporting Bush and the Iraq War; she voted against working families and voted against the environment.
I am opposed to the war and have pledged to oppose continued funding. I am committed to bringing our troops home quickly and safely. And I will not vote for further war funding unless a withdrawal procedure is included.
In 2003, during the Republican PR run up to the war, when their war drums were being challenged by true patriots, Ms. Kosmas co-sponsored a bill supporting George Bush and the Iraq War. This was while I was writing books and speaking out in opposition to the war and addressing the lies leading up to the war. If elected, Ms. Kosmas would likely continue to fund the war with the rest of the Bush Democrats.
I fully endorse the Healthcare not Warfare platform of the Progressive Democrats of America. (Visit www.clintcurtis.com). Ms. Kosmas has no plan for Healthcare.
I have steadfastly championed election reform by speaking before the US Congress and numerous state commissions on election accountability and the right of every citizen to know that their vote will actually be counted. I have been successful in changing the election laws in over ten states and recently testified before the Election Commission of the Texas Legislature at their request. (Video to come!)
Most importantly, because I have refused to accept campaign contributions from special interest groups, the lobbyists for oil, pharmaceuticals, real estate, land developers and other special interest groups that buy their way into politics with campaign contributions, they do not own me. I have not sold my vote to the highest contributor. I will represent YOU!
In Ms. Kosmas, the Democratic national party offers up yet another a rich corporate democrat, who after having to persuade her to return to the political arena, has provided this multi- millionaire businesswoman with the monetary backing of out-of-district, high-dollar special interest groups and party-controlled political action funds.
Her voting record clearly shows her as the go-along-to-get-along politician who is unwilling to initiate change. She typifies the corporate Democrat by representing the established political tradition with its tired conventional approach to issues that have failed to produce any real change or challenge those who are presently wrecking our economy and undermining our Constitution.
These are a few of her votes that I would not of cast and will never support
During her 8 years in the legislature, Kosmas' record of voting in favor of special interest groups and contributors is very clear.
> She co-sponsored the resolution supporting George Bush and the Iraq War > She voted against the consumers by opposing Tax Holidays > She voted against working families by opposing Living Wage standards > She voted against the environment by opposing the Everglades Protection Act. > She opposes the Hometown Democracy Initiative.
This year the voters will have a chance to make positive and productive changes in the political arena by voting for Progressive candidates that have pledged to represent the interests of the citizens and not the corporations and their lobbyists.
You can help me get my message out. Please make a contribution today so we can let the district know There Is A Difference! Change will not happen when our Democrats continue to act like Republicans.
Help me get my message out. Please make a contribution today so we can let the district know There Is A Difference! Thanks, everyone!"
Everyone in Florida's 24th District, please vote for Clint Curtis (and support with your monetary contributions), a man of integrity!
i think all of this is just too much for him.
