Why do the Republicans always seem to have their conventions after the Democrats? It seems clear that the one who goes last has advantages. Why doesn't the Democratic Party schedule its convention after the Republicans'?

The best thing we can do is all chip in and get John McCain a gift certificate for a Hoveround power chair from the Scooter Store. McCain looks feeble. And he promotes himself as though he is of an entirely different political party than the GOP. It is surreal to hear McCain promote change. McCain and the Republicans are what we need a change from. If McCain is elected and dies of face cancer or old age before he takes office, does that mean Palin gets sworn in as president?
