Why is this person still alive and why hasn't someone overthrown him by now? The UN reminds me of the democrats just standing around wringing their hands and whining to Mugabe to be nice. All despots should be watching their backs when they oppress their own people like this sociopath has done.

I'll never understand people's fascination for diamonds. Lumps of carbon; same composition as a piece of coal, only different morphology. Not particularly rare and can be synthetically produced since the 1950's. Cold, colorless and useful primarily as an industrial abrasive. But I don't see people wearing hunks of silicon carbide on their pinkies...
My take is that the insane valuation of diamonds is that it's rooted in human superstition...
