"You're talking about running over the minority, putting them in cement and throwing them in the Chicago River."
Hadn't thought of it that way but works for me. Throw 'em in the river!

Wow, the Republicans finally came up with a useful idea.

Kinda like a cop I knew who told me how he got rid of people he didn't like. He was always confiscating weapons from kids and he would keep a few of them around to plant in cars of people he didn't like and then charge them with concealed weapons. He called it "flaking them."
As for the Republicans - "flake 'em"

This so called group of moderate democrats who are planning on holding back Obama's agenda on healthcare etc, led by Evan Bayh must be stopped, if healthcare does not pass it will be a big blow for the un insured. It is time for us to get busy!

Great news...The ONLY way to battle these failed fascists is with a scorched earth action plan...I wondered why pet cable seemed even more over the top with the "blame Obama" manner this morning while totally ignoring their own complicity with Wall Street via their ownership, the wall to wall brokerage and banking commercials and clueless in house business reporters. Rethug hirlings will surely copy Mr. Obama's winning themes as they have already to obscure ideological party bankruptcy. In addition to the polite manner and lovely ability to speak, Mr. Obama should continue referring to 'my first term" as I'm throughly enjoying the almost woodwind-like quality of tone as the phrase causes wind to whistle up microphone-ajacent Rethug assholes...

"That would be the Chicago approach to governing: Strong-arm it through," said Sen. Judd Gregg (R-N.H.), who briefly considered joining the Obama administration as commerce secretary. "You're talking about the exact opposite of bipartisan. You're talking about running over the minority, putting them in cement and throwing them in the Chicago River."
Just like the Pubs did to the Dems since '94

Let Obama do it! This is exactly what the rep did do the dems when Bush was in charged.
This country is in a mess and its the republicans fault. We put Obama in there to do a job now let him do it...let's get moving and change our country.

No. Sadly. Not if the Blue Dogs have their way. Those Rahm chosen Bastards will insure a renewal of Republican party obstructionism the likes of which they could only dream of.

Am glad President Obama is realizing that he will never get cooperation from the republicans. You would think with their popularity declining so they would realize the American people do not support their obstruction. Appears they really do not care about what they think or the future of our country.

GW Jr's idea of bipartisanship was "Y'all Democrats agree with me, that's bipartisanship!"
After so many years of the Republicans telling the Democrats that their opinions did not matter and NOW THEY WANT TO WHINE ABOUT BEING IGNORED?
Screw them (or let them screw themselves, which is what they have been so good at).

REPUBLICANS ARE THE ENEMY WITHIN
Republicans are practicing seditious DEMAGOGUERY and insurrectionary OBSTRUCTIONISM intended to destabilize our economy for purposes of political exploitation.
Republicans AREN’T making a sincere effort to STOP the bleeding THEIR incompetent leadership and failed policies created. Instead, they’re using conflicting economic theories as a smokescreen to conceal their subversive agenda, which is to cause President Obama and America to fail so they can blame Democrats for the consequences of THEIR calamitous mismanagement.
Republicans are preposterously professing that THEIR disgraceful political WHORING had nothing to do with the banking, real estate, stock market and employment catastrophes that resulted.
Republicans are trying to hamstring Democrats to prevent them from exposing the damage caused during a Republican presidency.
Republicans are offering controversial arguments they know no one can agree on to disrupt and prevent progressive change. They’d rather divide America and create political gridlock than endure the political consequences of effective Democratic governance. That’s how they gained power and that’s how they’re trying to retain it.
Republicans are not the LOYAL OPPOSITION. They are the ENEMY WITHIN whose personal priorities have eroded their moral and ethical standards to the point that treachery and betrayal are their preferred modus operandi.
It’s one thing to advocate their conservative beliefs; it’s another thing entirely to willfully sabotage America’s government because a successful Democratic presidency would not be vulnerable to the fears and hatreds that have produced and sustained the radical Republican corporatism and extremism that have poisoned and crippled America.

BETWEEN THE DEVIL AND THE DEEP BLUE SEA
In order to gain the political control they’ve enjoyed over the last ten years, Republican moderates and Reagan conservatives made a pact with the devil (faux Christians, bigots and misanthropes) to achieve the numbers they needed to defeat Democrats. They made a strategic decision to manipulate and exploit the ignorance, fears and hatreds of dysfunctional and vulnerable voters in order to win elections rather than lose them by being intellectually and morally honest.
Today, those who conspired with the devil are caught between wanting to disassociate themselves with and or casting out the devil they empowered and the karmic reality that they don’t have the numbers to hold on to or regain power without continuing to accept and "advocate" the immoral values, hypocrisies and corruptions that are dividing and destroying their party.
The survival of today's shrinking Republican Party has become so dependent on extremism that they have no significant power left WITH or WITHOUT the support of America’s increasingly pernicious lunatic fringe.
The idiom about choosing between the devil and the deep blue sea is certainly appropriate as Republicans are facing the dilemma of choosing between two equally undesirable alternatives that both result in Republican impotence in mainstream American politics. They are suffering the consequences of their treachery.
Their irresponsible propping up of George W. Bush cost them their credibility, and their disgraceful and shameless licking of Rush Limbaugh’s storm trooper boots is costing them their viability.

A farmer was teaching his son the art of plowing a field with a plow drawn by a mule.
"Son, you must always treat the animal with respect and kindness," the farmer told the boy before gathering up the reins and commanding the mule to move forward.
The mule didn't budge.
The farmer went to the edge of the field, picked up a stout tree branch, and slammed the mule between the eyes. He took up the reins again, calmly repeated the command to go forward, and the mule moved on, pulling the plow along very nicely.
"But Pa, I thought you said to be kind and respectful to the mule."
"Son, you can be as kind and respectful as all git out once you get he mule's attention."

Obama is responding in the only way possible to succeed in moving forward with his platform. He attempted the bipartisan method which was his choice (and realistically the best for the country)and has been met with only overwhelming, intentful obstuctionism. This left him with no other alternative. Persons who voted for him were beginning to become disgruntled, uneasy and disappointed in their choice. If the Republicans prefer to show their strength by working toward an Obama failure, let it be known they are tightening their own noose!

WASHINGTON (AP) — A former Bush White House aide was sentenced to 30 months in prison for stealing nearly $600,000 from a government program that promotes democracy in Cuba. Felipe Sixto apologized Wednesday for stealing from the Center for a Free Cuba. He had pleaded guilty Dec. 19 to theft. U.S. District Judge Reggie Walton sentenced him to 30 months in prison, three years supervised release and fined him $10,000. http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2009-03...

Matt Ortega of GQ says of Michael Steele the head of the RNC:
"Steele claims President Obama and the Democrats are not being very bipartisan, and then turns around and says, well, bipartisanship doesn’t work."
So hell with them!

"Obama went to the White House with a vow to change the way things are done."
Barry went to the White House to change America...from Capitalism to Socialism. He occupies the Oval Office because he embraced "the way things are done"
You can't talk about obstructionist without bringing up the democrats during both Bush adminstrations.
Well guess what, the republicians had control of the capitol building for how many years, now the roles are reversed and it serves them right if he just that, bulldoze then out of the way. America is one of the biggest power houses of the world, and if obama wants to make sure it stays there them they should watch out because a 'train is coming through.' It's not just the Rethugs blocking change. It is the Democraps. In particular, Evan Bayh is forming a group of conservative Democrapic Senators with marching orders to scuttle change. Obama will need to go around the 60 vote bullshit to get around Blue Dog(shit) Dems as well as Rethugs.

I agree with your posting about the Republicans and their need to whine anytiime someone figures out how to get something done without all the time it takes that party. There has been too much time spent allowing the congress and the senate to hold up getting the job down in this country. I know every proposal will not be perfect . But I am glad to have a president in office who is at least willing to try and fix some of this mess in this country. Obama you keep pushing forward and don't slow down. We need more young blood in office to get this country back on track.
