AMERICAblog: Rev. Hagee: "It's true that [John] McCain's campaign sought my endorsement"

  • Dave of the Jungle · 1 year ago
John "I was always really a Baptist" McCain knows he needs support from the lunatic fringe on the right.
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
But Hagee LOVES America! He's not anti-American! So it's not the same thing!!

Apparently, he does not love American principles. You're right. He's worse.

McCain advisor rips the religious right, calls movement a ’serious problem’
    Posted March 19th, 2008

Yesterday, representatives of the Clinton, Obama and McCain campaigns spoke before the United Jewish Communities in DC, and McCain sent campaign advisor Lawrence Eagleburger, deputy secretary of State under Bush I, to speak on his behalf.

Thankfully, Eagleburger went off-script when asked about McCain’s relationship with the religious right, a movement United Jewish Communities members are less than fond of.

“On the Christian hard right, I live in Charlottesville now and I can’t tell you I’m surrounded by it,” Eagleburger said. “I must tell you we fought it there, fought hard against it. There’s no question that in the Republican Party it is a serious problem…Among the hard-right conservatives in the Republican Party John McCain was, shall we say, less than enthusiastically received…What you see is what you get. You are not going to see him moving to assuage the concerns of these conservatives.

The WaPo posted a video of Eagleburger’s comments, along with some amusing snark from Dana Milbank.

This could get interesting given that its Lieberman behind most of McCain's fundraising....The US Senator from Israel.

I can't help but feel that McCain is just the straw candidate. Way too many holes, slips, senior moments, wetburns, temper tantrums, scandels, etc. Watch, he'll go down. There's also the chance Obama will run as an Independant.

Stay off DRUDGE at the moment...nasty add up on there that will not clear...ctrl alt delete if you get it....
  • bumpkis · 1 year ago
Apparently there is some sort of story breaking re unauthorized access to Obama's passport files at Dept of State. 2 people fired...I tried to read it on DRUDGE with his flashing red light, but that fricken ad is stuck on the main screen.

Uh oh. The next thing you know is we will get a listing of all the countries with large Muslum populations he visited. I have a feeling by the time this election is over, we will know even the brand of toilet paper the Obamas use. Thank you for listening.

Joe, I agree -- I hope we get the endless video loops of Rev. Hagee. In today's NPR letters, a listener took them to task for reporting every detail of the Rev. Wright issue while not reporting on the hate speech offered by right wing ministers. Thank you for listening.

HERE WE GO! Gay journalist Matt Drudge is headlining breaking news that Obama's passport data has been breached. Up to now, Drudge has been on our side exposing the sleazy side of Billary and her cadre of Democratic traitors. I don't know what Drudge has in mind, but he better report positively on Obama. We've got to keep up the meme that Hillary Clinton is a scary masculine woman who has no right to seek the Presidency. Gay men like Matt Drudge and Andrew Sullivan were right way back in the 90's when they targeted the Clintons as the corrupt politicians they turned out to be.

This 'Passport' story gives Obama support and sympathy. It's a good thing Martha.
  • Sanders · 1 year ago
Folks, we have no right to criticize Matt Drudge. He had the guts to be politically incorrect and report on Slick Willie back in the 90's when he and Hillary were trashing the White House. I'm monitoring Drudge's updates, but hopefully we can blame this new scandal on Shillary. We've got to keep on the offensive and keep emphasizing how the Clintons destroyed the Democrat Party in the 90's and especially let people know that they are the most homophobic cretins for engineering both DOMA and the new Constitutional Amenedent to disenfranchise glbt people. God I hate Billary!

As long as Grudge is at the blog Tea Party, I'll reserve the right to criticize him. Grudge is acceptable, considering all the damage he's caused?

Rabbit Hole! Black is White! Up is Down!

Nibble from a different corner of the mushroom Sanders. Sooner or later, you'll get just right. Alice did.

Having access to OBAMA's file could have been only given to vetted people. Contractors? Are they outside of our justice system too.

    Statement from Obama campaign:

"This is an outrageous breach of security and privacy, even from an Administration that has shown little regard for either over the last eight years. Our government's duty is to protect the private information of the American people, not use it for political purposes. This is a serious matter that merits a complete investigation, and we demand to know who looked at Senator Obama's passport file, for what purpose, and why it took so long for them to reveal this security breach.

OK. This if this it true this needs to be in the main stream media. Hagee has said FAR worse things than Wright. Double standard for sure. Yes, Obama knew Wright for 20 years, however to 'Seek' out Hagee's support? Abominable.
