AMERICAblog: Rice warns China on Olympic security

  • fostert · 1 year ago
I would be skeptical about any statement from Rice, but coming from Helen Clark, it carries some weight. Helen is a competent leader and she has some serious brass balls. She may lead a small country, but she doesn't take shit from anyone. As for China, they're losing their ability to really suppress dissent. At the risk of sounding like Cheney, their intolerance of dissent is in its last throes. The Chinese people are just too fast for the government to keep up. It will take ten years, but the Chinese government will simply have to learn how to cope with an informed populace. Hopefully, they can do it gracefully.

Are you aware that China has more people online than the US has population?

Word does get out...and you can bet that some geniuses over there are already writing software that will bypass any govt restrictions to be in touch with the rest of the world, while we sit here and take the spying by the WH.

These games do not belong in this place to begin with. Any nation with such an oppressive regime should not be allowed a TV PR vehicle to send out their propaganda to the world over satellite..."look how progressive we are!" Read much about gay life there? Sorta like gay life with the Taliban or Saudis. How about the murdering of female babies?
  • OlderAndWiser · 1 year ago
Right. The WH has Fux News to deal with its propaganda in this country. At least most people agree that China is at least upfront with it, it's pretty transparent there.
  • OlderAndWiser · 1 year ago
Rice is the last person I'd listen to about dissent...or anyone else out of this criminal regime.
  • Bostonian_Queer_in_Dallas · 1 year ago
Way way OT but what the fuck is this? Karl Rove threatening IT GOP vote fraud folks? Currently working for McSame? Hello ABLOG what is this shit???
    http://www.bradblog.com/?p=6214
  • OlderAndWiser · 1 year ago
And Rove no longer works for the WH--officially that is--so he can't claim "executive privilege" anymore...

I want to see that criminal in stripes.
  • Bostonian_Queer_in_Dallas · 1 year ago
Is Rove still out of the country? Cute if he never returns. But no one will
know because the MSM won't say a fucking word about it.
  • OlderAndWiser · 1 year ago
Anyone speak Swedish? Apparently KKKarl is giving the Swedes tips on infiltrating blogs...

Oh so he's in Sweden now. Mmm this vacation seems a tad long. Is someone
    avoiding frog marching?
  • Bostonian_Queer_in_Dallas · 1 year ago
I think this new Rove thing may be the straw for the camel. What kind
of threats is he making on this guy and his wife?
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
Well, think about it. If he's telling the guy to "take the fall" and do jail time, then it must be something like having him killed. So I'm sure it was something like, take the fall, spend some time in prison, when you get out, you'll be back in our GOP crime family like all the others. We're loyal to our own with wingnut welfare.

I'm absolutely convinced now that Rove is behind most of the trolls online, too.
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
Rove told him either do that, or you know how dangerous I can be... as he slowly stroked his cat.
  • SouthernYankee · 1 year ago
I wish there was a petition we all could sign on the internet to have Rove the criminal arrested. It would be great to see him do a perk walk to jail in handcuffs. I don't think this country could really heel if someone in this administration isnt held to pay for everything that has gone wrong in the justice system.

Good morning! Not to aggrivate the Chinese communists but I'm just back from a 5 day seminar with HHDL [ His Holiness the Dalai Lama]. He emphasized developing bodhicitta (the intention to become spiritually enlightened) and made the point that altruism is the basis of growing into a calm and clear mind that perceives dependent origination as the doorway into understanding emptiness. Happiness for everyone!
  • OlderAndWiser · 1 year ago
Oh please...I put him in the same category as the pope. First, you must develop a conscience, for crying out loud. Isn't it amazing that any religion or spiritual movement has a man as its head? Nothing ever changes in that realm, so as a woman, I'd rather not listen. Piety is not something I admire--it quickly turns into sanctimonious bullshit.

Maybe when men can create life and nurture it, as women do, I will listen...sadly, too many women are listening to men and trying to act like them. Therein lies a huge problem.

    Don't hurt yourself.
  • interlude · 1 year ago
ok Indigo, what's the point? how does that experience speak to the issue at hand?
as a person who practices buddhist meditation & ethics, i am at a loss as to how this relates to the topic.
you might want to check into socially engaged buddhism.
  • Indigo · 1 year ago
You seem upset for someone who claims to practice "buddhist medition and ethics."

"Leave China Alone!"-Wal Mart CEO Lee Scott
  • Bostonian_Queer_in_Dallas · 1 year ago
Absolutely right! Has anyone bought a fucking cheap piece o' shit product lately made in China? Jesus the last three things we bought that needed assembly at home are total crap. Parts missing, nothing fits, all made of soft crappy aluminum, plastic parts seemed to be out of the wrong mold.
  • SouthernYankee · 1 year ago
Wal Mart family are not more than a bunch of greedy whores. They paved the way to show how a company can ruin a country in a few short years. Did you know that the family members are billionaires. I say a documentary the other day it showed each family member is worth at least 18 billion dollars. Don't get me wrong am not against making money but you should treat your employees fairly. I am happy to see that some cities ban Wal Mart stores because they ruin all the other business in the area.

Do as I say, and not as I do eh?

The Bush administration which includes Rice, have made lose our moral authority in the world, and we do not have a leg to stand on, when it comes to admonishing other rogue nations. Ms. Rice should just keep her mouth shut and enjoy her trip to see the Olympics, which we are paying for.

  • bob915 · 1 year ago
You know.....she'd have a point if it weren't for her absolute ZERO credibilty quotient. I got news forya lady-------SECURITY SHOULD NOT BECOME IN ANY WAY A COVER FOR THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION'S WIRETAPPING, TORTURE, JUSTICE DEPT. HUBRIS, AND DEFECATING ON THE US CONSTITUTION UNFORTUNATE DOESN'T EVEN BEGIN TO DESCRIBE THAT

    pot calls kettle black?
  • SouthernYankee · 1 year ago
Hmmm very interesting. I am beginning to think our country is acting like China. If the world just would boycott China maybe they'll get it. Of course Bush has to be there because we owe them so much money now. Way to go Bush.
  • kl8n · 1 year ago
The headline for this should be "American pot calls Chinese kettle black." BushCo has been using the issue of security as an excuse to stifle dissent in this country for years.
