AMERICAblog: Right wing values voters line up to buy "Obama Waffles"

  • Bostonian_Queer_in_Dallas · 1 year ago
Oh I am quite sure that Jesus of Nazareth would buy one of those in a heartbeat.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
    Repeat this like a mantra:

"Jesus Christ was a community organizer.

Pontius Pilate was a governor, like Sarah Palin, with lots of responsibilities and executive experience."
  • Bostonian_Queer_in_Dallas · 1 year ago
Yup....he also talked a lot about feeding the hungry, healing the sick,
helping the needy...I don't remember Jesus talking about homah-seck-shuls.
Nor did he talk about illegal immigration, nor birth control, nor abortion.
But he did talk about feeding the hungry.

Joel Osteen would tell you that you have to feel good about yourself and that you all deserve to be millionaires no matter what you have to do to get there. By the way make sure you continue your monthly checks so I can live in the style that I choose.
  • vkobaya · 1 year ago
Jesus also didn't preach salvation by murder, theft, lying, corrupt government, bigotry, racism, stupidity or molesting pages in Congress. Yet, you would think so by the way the Religious Rights flocks to support the Republicans, Bush and McCain. Hmmm! You would also think that Jesus said that getting an education or being smart was one of the greatest sins that God hates. Truth is, the Religious Right is works for Satan, Bezelbub, Lucifer, the Devil, and they know it. They contracted out their souls long, long ago for "prosperity" Christianity, that is, heaven on earth.
  • BLOGGING BITCH! · 1 year ago
It's just strange to know that there are numerous people that would vote against their own interests because they can't get past the skin color. The GOP coddles the right to be stupid.

Maybe if they knew more about The Patriot Act?
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
Maybe if they KNEW MORE PERIOD they would come to our side. The low information voter is more likely to be Republican.
  • vkobaya · 1 year ago
    The low information voter is

It's one of the great successes of long term Republican election strategy and one of their proudest achievements. As much a key to their success as their much more ballyhooed Southern strategy. And a far, far more destructive strategy.

Back in 1970, in graduate school, we had several of third world students who had degrees from their home country. After taking the qualifying exams all of them had no more than the equivalent of a high school education. Today, that is the state of an American education. Most of those who graduate with a degree, don't know where Iraq or Iran is, couldn't locate them on a world map and think New Mexico is a foreign nation, couldn't spell the plural of potato, don't know current events such what the Bush Doctrine is, etc. The limit of their knowledge of current events is to tell you the latest gossip on Britany Spears or Paris Hilton. A reporter once paraphrased the Declaration of Independence to members of Congress and asked them to identify the document. Most thought it was Communist document. Can't you just hear Barbara Bush saying not to bother her beautiful mind?
  • foolme1ns · 1 year ago
HATEFUL CHRISTIANS. They have blasphemed the name and the teachings of Christ with their hatred and their fear.
  • gwpriester · 1 year ago
    You think?
  • FunMe · 1 year ago
They are not ChrIstians - they are RELIGOUS FANATICS.
  • political_correctness · 1 year ago
Damn, that is about racist as they come.
Why doesn't the GOP go ahead and drop the N-word while they are at it.
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
that maybe some of the "in box information" included with the mix.
  • FunMe · 1 year ago
OK, it now time for Obama to denounce this every day.

How can they let this RACIST box to go out, with no sound from the media or Obama, yet a stupid phrase like "lipstick on a pig" gets 24-7 coverage.

I am ready to FIGHT - but what are the Democratic "leaders" doing about this?

The DLC, DNC, and Democratic Party should be out there on Monday attacking the RACISM.

Sorry, but I am mad, and it is Sunday, but I still say f*** them and may they go to hell.

Did Whitlock and DeMoss get permission to use his name for their endeavor?
  • Wesinoregon · 1 year ago
AND, the top of the box has a picture of him wearing a Muslim hat too. They still cant' let go of that one.
  • ImpureScience · 1 year ago
From a now-scrubbed page on the http://obamawaffles.typepad.com website:

Lou Dobbs: "My wife will love this!"

Lou Dobbs kicked off the Value Voters Forum this morning in Washington, DC. Bob has the opportunity to serve Barackfast, er, Breakfast to Lou as he came off the stage.

Lou smiled and said, "My wife will love this."

If we were liberal journalists playing fast and loose with quotes, we might write that Lou said, "Every woman in America needs a box."

Of course, we think they do!

Its time to roll out the Sarah Palin Rape and Cindy McCain Drug Kits. This kind of crap should not go unanswered. The Bush / McCain / Palin ticket has ACTUAL scandals versus "engineered / fake" shit like "Obama is a muslim." The scandals, like Sarah Palin, as mayor of Wasilla, making victims pay for rape kits, needs to be exploited in the same "purple heart band-aid" "Obama Waffle mix" fashion. We need to keep hitting them until they can no longer get back up! Hell, if I had the resources I'd do it myself. I would market a rape kit that made fun of Palin and would consist of a black ski mask, duct tape, and a receipt book charging the victim for the rape and $500,000.00 to raise the baby! The Cindy McCain drug kit would be filled with bottles of candy oxycontin and vicadin and a receipt book charging taxpayers for her drug habit. Even if the rape or drug kits aren't physically made, we should run a big spoof of it!
  • red_dwarf · 1 year ago
Fight fire with fire but don't get in the ditch with 'em. I think you may be right cowboy about the rape kits, Cindy drug paraphernalia, etc. That's fighting fire with fire - and that's ok. Let's just stay out of the bigoted, racist ditch that rePIGs love to squander in. The rePIGs hand us plenty of material to work with, we don't need to, like them, lie, or play on homophobic, bigoted, racist fears, etc.

On the other hand it just may be that the 5% of the knuckleheads that haven't made up their mind yet (the ignorant Americans that pull the election one way or the other) just might "catch on" to all the lies, etc of the rePIGs. Of course, that would require a Press doing their job - and an assurance the next election is not rigged. They stole the 2000 and 2004 election, why wouldn't they steal the 2008? They have to cover up a lot of criminal activity - and also they want to start a war with Iran, etc. So, it just might be a toss up. Embrace sanity in hopes that just once sanity rules the day, or get ready to, as one young actor said yesterday, to live out a bad Disney movie.

Here's a scandal. Michelle Obama worked for the University of Chicago hospital. When Barack got elected to US Senate, they made Michelle the VP of Community Affairs and raised her salary from $100k+ to $300k+.

Then, to help pay her salary, Barack requested (but didn't get) a $1.1 million earmark for the hospital.

Eventually, Michelle resigned from the VP position, to campaign for Barack. The hospital has not sought to fill the position.

I'd love to see reporters question Barack Obama about this.

Obviously, McCain and Palin have their share of scandals -- but Obama is no better. He's a crook -- but a more eloquent and charismatic crook than most.
  • lynchie · 1 year ago
You my right wing friend are a LIAR.
  • FunMe · 1 year ago
    Yawn.
Another rove $4.25/hour ignorant dittohead accomplishing nothing.
But there is something awaiting that never fails - bad karma.
    Enjoy!

These are the same twisted nut jobs that were at the 2004 convention showing off their cute little purple heart band aids to reinforce the swiftb oating of John Kerry. And these are the same twisted morons who listen to Michael Savage, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and the rest of those hate jocks and think all liberals are evil.

I do not like these people very much.

One of the standarders that the American people are going to have to use this election cycle is ... "HAVE WE, AS A PEOPLE, OUT GROW THE FASCIST,HATEFULL AND RASIST WAY OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY?"

    Hopefully "YES"

Another is... " IN OUR DAILY LIVES, DO WE REWARD FAILURE AMOUNG OUR CHRIDEN, LOVED ONES, FRIENDS AND CO-WORKERS?"

I would hope the answer was "NO"

Those that agree should and must vote for Obama.

Those that agree but do not vote for Obama will have pay a high price for the loss of their freedoms...
  • therepguy · 1 year ago
Today the rest of the world see the nature of the American goverment and it's power struclure as "STRONGLY LEANING FASCIST"!

When will the Amerian people come to that conclustion?

And when will the American Press report on the true conduction of our polical conduction?

The American Facist Movement under the direction of the New Republican Fascist Party, i.e. the Republican party under the control of bush and now john mccain.

Don't agree... you have no feather to look thasn in john mccain choose of VP!
  • lynchie · 1 year ago
Americans don't know what a fascist is. Most think that you are a fascist if you have a My Face web page.
  • red_dwarf · 1 year ago
rePIGs are racist scumbags. I wouldn't give the rat bastards the time of day.

OT: Try and catch the interview on CSPAN with TomDispatch (saw it yesterday). These guys have it going on pretty good. They detail the slaughter and massacre of the Iraqi's as the GOP plan to take over the oil fields - thank GOD (or Allah, Jah, whatever) that the Iraqi's are fighting back.

Over 1 million innocent Iraqis (mainly women and children) have paid with their lives - yet the Iraqi's understand that the primary goal of the US is to steal their oil and provide permanent bases (58 at last count) as a platform to widen the war to Iran, etc. The period of the Bush administration will surely go down as the darkest days in American history. People in the future will be "blown" away by the ignorance of our country.

Like I said, dittoheads are racist rat bastards, I wouldn't give 'em the time of day.
  • lynchie · 1 year ago
If McCain and Palin are elected we may well not have a future. To threaten to start a war with Russia says all you need to know about the GOP. The never face the consequences of any of their policies or actions.
  • lynchie · 1 year ago
Frankly Obama should sue for use of his name and likeness. Every time they sell a box they have to pay him and he can put the money into his campaign.
  • WDemDem · 1 year ago
But if course if he claims it is his likeness, the McSame ads will rip him and say that Obama himself said he was a Muslim and an Aunt Jemima.

But I agree with you - a lawsuit should be forthcoming.

We're at the same place that Germany was in the 1930's. It wasn't stopped in Germany, and we're not going to stop it here. One out of every three Americans (about 100 million) is a Christian Fundamentalist, and they're all drinking the same kool-aid and preaching hate 24/7 over the public airwaves.

At some point those of us on the left will have to come face to face with the same choices that German Jews in the 1930's had to face. Do they stay and continue to believe that their beloved country, one of great culture and literature, would eventually wake up and see what was happening, or do they get the hell out. How many Germans would have voted for Hitler if he had campaigned on a promise of exterminating their neighbors in gas chambers, starting a world war, and nearly destroying Germany?

Sinclair Lewis wrote in the 30's, "When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the American flag and carrying a cross."

We all talk about this being a crucial election, but we frame it in terms of jobs, the economy, the environment. Maybe we should start telling the truth - that it's an election between fascism and democracy. Vote for Obama and the Democrats and you're voting to continue democracy. Vote for McCain and the Republicans and you're voting for fascism.

They say that alcoholics have to reach the very bottom before they do something about it. Maybe that's true for countries too.
  • MotorCityBadBoy · 1 year ago
They can only hide their racism for so long. It just oozes out... It's who they are. If Shallow Hal could look out onto the floor of the Republican convention, he'd think he was at a rally for the klan. It's sad really, but all you can do is pray for them.
  • lynchie · 1 year ago
I will offer no prayer for racists or bigots. They constantly wrap the bible around themselves as protection yet are the most non-religious group of all. the evangelists who pray for money, who wear the best of clothes, who fly around in personal jets, limos, multi homes will get none of my prayers. Like the current Pope who wants us to give up our worldly possessions but requires all parishoners to tith the church with a percentage of our incomes while hiding the pedophiles and molesters and giving cover to the priests and allowing them to continue unchecked. No, no prayers for them. Regardless of what version of religion they follow it is all about amassing wealth and power not about helping people.
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
a full-length article was in the local Sunday paper about this shit, including a picture of the box.

shows the Christianist right wingers for the hateful, lying bigots they are.

THE REPUBLICANS RETURN TO AUNT JEMIMA!!!!!

Is there no limit to slime from the right? This racist tactic says it all. Waffles or pancakes are purely Republicans with no decency. How many Americans will be taken in for the THIRD TIME?????
  • bronco214 · 1 year ago
What got to me was the Value Voters spokesman saying that after they heard about the mix being offensive, they made the vendor remove the display. When was this? Half an hour after the conference closed? I thought I had heard that they sold out! But that's what they do-fish gotta swim, birds gotta fly and liars..well you know.
