AMERICAblog: Rove heavily involved in McCain's VP selection process

  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
    egad...

    just had a nasty thought.

how long after mccain apointed kkkarl rove as Sec. of State do you think it'd take before friendly countries started killing American tourists?
  • Sage24 · 1 year ago
Same policies, same gang of criminals, same dirty tactics, same failed ideas.
McCain does not have any self respect, or dignity. If he did he would not use vermin like Rove, who was responsible for all the dirty attacks against McCain and his family, during the 2000 rethuglican primaries.

    McCain = McSame.
  • ron071 · 1 year ago
McCain has " learned " how to love his captors. He's going for a reprise of his experiences of 40 years past. He is frighteningly the Manchurian Candidate.

------- ----- MORE OF THE SAME WITH McCAIN------------ -------
  • SarainKC · 1 year ago
Ype, that's how it works. Junior was a pickled drunk and drug addict with daddy and disappearing penis issues when the PNAC crowd got a hole of him and now they have a sad old man with one claim to fame from 40 years ago that he never came to terms with and serious delusions of granduer, garnered nt by anything that he has accomplished but by disgracing himself and marrying a family who could take care of him. He is so primed to be used by these guys.
  • 2008 · 1 year ago
Yeah, that explains it! McCain may seriously have Stockholm Syndrome and that's why he's loving Bush so much!!!!
  • SarainKC · 1 year ago
Cindy and her Dad calls the shots at home and the PNAC crowd now own his political career. Is Johnny Boy allpwed to take a piss by himself anymore?
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
it depends... if he's actually in public, he has to ask permission from his 'handlers'.

you might find this interesting: http://www.time.com/time/politics/article/0,859...

Lieberman or Romney (doesn't matter): the ventriloquist. McCain: the dummy.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
the religious right doesn't like either of them.

that pesky 'right to choose' issue.

John "I'm officially brainwashed" McCain. Gee, would it be weird if he got into office and started losing his mind so that his henchmen would have to do his job for him but we wouldn't know it because they kept him on a short leash?
  • BLOGGING BITCH! · 1 year ago
It worked for Reagan. You mention Iran-Contra and he'd drool and shit his pants while pretending to not know who the interviewer was.

Of course he racked up the first 5 Trillion Dollars worth of debt that we still can't pay.

Hey, anyone know how much the banks pay in taxes? Seems we Americans owe them a shitload of cash and the Feds are making sure that THE BANKS are getting even more than we owe them!

Whatever happened to Governor Plenty and that Good 'Ol Southern Baptist by the name of Romney?
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
    Southern Baptist?

    Romney?

    no... Romney's a moron.

    excuse me, MORMON...

    okay, he's both.

Cindy is so fragile. She's sure had that CAST on her SPRAINED wrist for a long time! And she's younfer than him? No wonder he just hugs Bush.
  • NinaKatarina · 1 year ago
It's so she doesn't have to actually touch the peasants.
  • SarainKC · 1 year ago
Well, "some people" are saying John's temper is responsible for Cindy's cast. I wonder if John McCain's 5 1/2 years as a homeless prisoner of war with no table or chair or anything turned him into a wife beater, that the cast on Cindys wrist reflects or maybe he always beat women. Did his torture turn him into a wife beater? He needs to come clean on this disturbing behavior "some people" say he has right away. The American people deserve to know...
  • SarainKC · 1 year ago
Plus, POW's or victims of torture are much more likely to become abusers themselves, usually picking victims unable to fight back. I think we need to get an expert on this type of behavior from POW's to help us understand why John McCain beats his wife.

Of course. Karl is trying soooooooooo hard to stay out of jail.

And McCain is his Get-Out-of-Jail Card.

Why do the media bother with him, why don't they point out this obvious conflict of interest?

    you've got to be kidding...

rove's already got a signed pardon in his office safe... he isn't going anywhere unless someone finds kiddie porn on his computer.

    he's never going to jail.
  • SarainKC · 1 year ago
Puh leeze- he's a republican. Kiddie porn is just the appetizer to the main course- an all expense paid (by the US tax payer, of course!) trip to the Marinara Islands featuring child sex slave camps. You aren't a republican if you haven't had your share of kiddie tang. Just ask Limpballs who was caught with a bunch of Viagra on his way there.

but... but... those belonged to rush's housekeeper!

errm... wait a minute... no, that was the painkillers.

it was a humanitarian trip! he was providing low-cost erectile dysfunctional drugs to the poor in the Marianas Islands!! Nothing sadder than a poor guy with a perpetual softy.

    yeah, that's it!

    Question for the GOP...

how can Americans trust Romney OR Lieberman?

    neither one were POWs.
  • EmGD · 1 year ago
I don't know what to think. Rove is steering McCain away from Lieberman, but towards Romney. What's this I'm feeling.....is it.....gratitude...towards Karl Rove? Deliver unto us Mittens, Karl, and all will be forgiven.

Or if McCain spurns you and goes with Lieberman that will also be funny. Either or, I'm not a picky man.

  • BLOGGING BITCH! · 1 year ago
Rove needs to quit calling McCain. It's tough for a former POW to hold the phone to his head. How cruel of Rove. Rove is a Republican, right?

Let's hope he doesn't pull a Cheney and declare himself the best VP he could find.

Here's classic McCain. Tomorrow is a very important anniversary and with another hurricane on the way, this picture says it all to me. http://dailykos.com/story/2008/8/28/105837/491/...
And this video of McCain trashing American workers is appalling. It's a must see. Actually I'll post two videos. The first one has more of the dialog but not as much showing McCain as he's saying it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpB9OoOU02M The second one cuts about halfway into it, but it shows McCain the whole time, you can tell how angry he really is. Bring it on old man. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWOZKeOauNI&eurl...

Will Hoyer and Pelosi allow Obama to investigate Bush, or will he have to end all the investigations like Bill Clinton did for Bush's Daddy?

Hope he touches on that tonight.

It's bad enough Biden is quoting the official line of Bullshit about 9/11. Where were the bodies at the crash site in Pennsylvania? Why weren't there any airliner parts found at The Pentagon?

Sounds like an insider might have been a bad choice.
  • Indigo · 1 year ago
An insider is an insider's choice. Obama's being handled too, we just haven't see the strings yet.

I really hope Biden and the rest of the Democrats show America McCain's temper, show the PNAC lobbyists running his campaign, and Karl Rove running the show. I know a lot of people who say they are voting for McCain, they think he is the McCain of the 90's. Just saying it's 4 more years of the same isn't enough. These voters HAVE to be shown the real McCain or he will be getting their votes. Americans are stupider than most give them credit for. At least here in my neck of the woods. But this no abortion, no gays, no blacks central.
  • ron071 · 1 year ago
ProgressiveTroll: How are the folks doing in your " neck of the woods"? Perhaps they need more pain or don't recognize their conditions due to a chemical intervention. In any event I'm sorry for your environment.
  • ProgressiveTroll · 1 year ago
Thanks, I'm a little over an hour directly south of St. Louis. Abortion is all that matters to these people. You see people driving crappy old vehicles with W 04 stickers all the time. Their economic conditions do not matter. They think they are going to hell if America allows abortions, there is nothing you can say or do to change it. The preacher said so and the the preacher only tells the direct word from God. And then you have the outright racists as well.

If it's Romney, won't the "Straight-Talk Express" be covered in dog shit like Romney's station wagon was?
  • BLOGGING BITCH! · 1 year ago
Rove said he's going to use The Hurricane as an excuse as to why Bush won't be at the convention. Last time, Bush stayed on vacation and played guitar.
  • ron071 · 1 year ago
The Bush hidden treasure syndrome reminds me of the "mother "in the movie Psycho. Let Bush out of the mansion and make a speech at the convention. Cheney will also be a highlight. They need to show pride in their work and then accountability will be forthcoming. McSame will continue in this grand tradition if only the American electorate can be fooled for a third time or if another election can be stolen.
  • BLOGGING BITCH! · 1 year ago
Fred Thompson was supposed to be the GOP Rock Star. However, the Dems were never to call him that because McCain is a former POW.
  • Sage24 · 1 year ago
The rethugs are criticizing Obama for using a "glamor" background for his acceptance speech.

Shouldn't the Dems ask them if Bush's "mission accomplished" background
was the most staged and dishonest?

when picking a spouse... there are rules...

you should find a good lover.
    a good friend.
    someone responsible.
    someone fun to be with.
and the biggest rule, make sure these people never meet each other.

It is beyond belief that the American voter would consider a man for high office who was run by Karl Rove. Just imagine what more of Rove will be. That's a really bad dream. Can Americans be duped for the third time?

WANT MORE PAIN??? VOTE McCAIN !!!!!!!!
  • ProgressiveTroll · 1 year ago
Yes, Americans can be duped. Just listen to the phone calls coming in to CSpan. They are all over the place here in Missouri. Abortion is all that matters to them. It doesn't matter how many innocent people we blow up or how much gas and food costs. They are going to hell if America allows abortions. They are all brainwashed.
  • BLOGGING BITCH! · 1 year ago
Makes one wonder why McCain doesn't pick Larry Craig....he'll be at the airport anyways.
  • ProgressiveTroll · 1 year ago
I read somewhere that ol. Wide Stance will be one of the many "no shows". Not surprising, but it would be a hoot to see him there.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
they'd have to post Secret Servicemen outside the Men's room while he's in there... just to thwart any toe-tapping issues.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
I was listening to some of the calls coming into CSpan last night...

one caller, 78, Korean war Vet... was afraid of Obama's experience. Said something like "He wants to go over there and TALK to these crazies! That tells me he doesn't have experience" (I'm yelling at my TV saying "Its called diplomacy and foreign policy!")

the reporter then asks "well, is there anything Biden can say in his upcoming speech that might change your mind?"

the caller responds "no... VP's don't have any power... they just go to state funerals and parties, open shopping malls... that sort of thing. He can't do anything."

to which I was shouting at my TV... "HELLO!! CHENEY DIDN'T HAVE ANY POWER?!?!?! where does this idiot think ALL policy decisions were made for this administration!?!?!?"

the idiots can vote... there really should be a law, if you are detached from what's going on in the US and abroad, you shouldn't be able to vote.
  • ProgressiveTroll · 1 year ago
I've been yelling at the teevee as well. I can only stand it for a few minutes and then I have to move on, for my own sanity and that of my husband's! I'm amazed at the number of people, especially Dems, who are watching this on CNN instead of CSpan. They've missed some amazing speeches.

  • aravir · 1 year ago
I have to honestly say that if I was Rove, I would want Romney as well. Why?
Well, he probably doesn't help in Massachussets, but he might in Michigan. And, more importantly, he helps in some key mountain and western states. Why? He's Mormon. That helps in Nevada, Arizona, Oregon and Washington, and can't hurt in Colorado and Wyoming. Remember the Rove strategy: to target and turn out disproportionately high numbers in groups which support you. And the Mormons are already organized.
Not to mention that Romney was the Bush candidate. (Don't forget that he gave his so-called "Faith in America" speech at George HW Bush's presidential library.
  • okojo · 1 year ago
I think Romney's strengths in Nevada and especially Oregon are way over exaggerated. The Mormon strength in Oregon is in Eastern Oregon, ie the empty part, Western Oregon and around Portland is heavily Democratic. Wyoming, Idaho and Utah are probably the most Republican States in the US, it is better off aiming for states like Ohio and Florida, especially Ohio.
  • aravir · 1 year ago
We're talking 4-5% of the population in Oregon. In a close battle, that's a critical segment. In Nevada, it's roughly 8%. Again, in a battleground state, not insignificant.

I don't think it will be Romney, My guess it will be Portman or Crist. Romney can offer only tangible support in Michigan, and the places he is popular (Utah and Idaho) are going to vote for McCain anyway.
  • Rob Mule · 1 year ago
    Rob Portman!?!?!?!?!?

  • DCinDC · 1 year ago
Rove is totally involved with the McCain Camp. He has to make sure McCain is elected to make sure he stays out of jail. Now that is motivation. Rove is motivated and he has all of his people working for McCain. McCain will sell his sole to the devil if it means being president. This is all obvious.

  • 2008 · 1 year ago
He's like a cockroach, I guess. Actually, cockroaches don't deserve that rap. They're innocent bugs.

Rove is still in contempt of Congress for dodging that subpoena by the investigatory committee on the US Atty. political firings. He can't go under oath because it would prove violations of federal law. And provide more hard evidence as to how Bush stole 2 elections.
  • sconset · 1 year ago
Karl's only motive is to make the Bush clan happy--Romney was their default choice because of Chimps damage to Jeb's chances. Many members of the Bush family had big jobs with Romney's campaign--in the family's eyes Mitt has the same "pedigree" as they have--tons of money, and grabbing any way that they can.

My take is that they can't stand McCain but have to suck it up and with their toady, Romney in the role of VP the status quo will prevail--also, they will fight like hell against subpoenas and investigations into the criminality of the 8 years of the Bush team.

Romney was governor of my state and he left us with sky high deficits, a Turnpike Authority that is broke and broken, and most insultingly, spent the last 300+ days of his term racing around the country badmouthing the very people who put him in office. God help this country if they put him on the ticket--I don't want to even think of what a McCain/Romney gig would be like.

McClatchy's terrific report runs rings around the rovist Post story...

Anybody want to lay odds on who'll go after Scarborough next? As MSNBC increasingly brands itself as the lefty alternative in cable news -- the net just hired Air American vet Rachel Maddow to host a 9 p.m. show following Olberman's Countdown -- Scarborough looks out of place. Unless you think of him as a pinata.

The tremendous applause from off set onlookers that greets every mention of Rachel's name has to be irritating some of the peckish egos...
