AMERICAblog: Running for third term, McBush attacks Obama -- as another Repub. mocks Obama as Jesus

  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
Limpballs routinely calls Obama, Messiah, in his most derogatory tone. It really magnifies his lisp.
  • cwazilla · 1 year ago
Im just tryin to figure out if bush was bein ironic or moronic.......damm george carlin would have had a whole routine on this one
  • kevinbgoode · 1 year ago
How ironic that the man who invented the sheep-like "Dittohead" label to describe his own blind followers would call someone else a "messiah."
  • Rob Mule · 1 year ago
Was this event preceded by the footage shown on Countdown last night of Bush waving to two men who didn't wave back? Bush stops and gives an even bigger, more theatrical (sarcastic?) wave but the men ignore him, Marine 1 and the entourage.
If it wasn’t so sad it would be funny.
Of course, Bush is a master of the doorway/jetway wave to an empty, unvideotaped airport….he’s so elitist or McCainist, as I like to say.

relax, it's a bad attempt at humor...everyone except GOPpers and hardline Hillaryites will see it for what is.

we need some real humor in this race...people are much too serious.

Anderson Cooper's show last night was disgusting with Gloria Borger and the Tom Forman report sucking up to McCain. They don't care how sleazy Carol McCain's abandoner gets with his attacks on Obama
  • Rob Mule · 1 year ago
For the few seconds I watched the morning cable clowns, the "elitist" syllogism seemed to be on hyper drive...CNN's repulsive exCBS anchor was big on CNN's excuse for McCain's alleged internet awareness: "Do you want a world leader or a guy who Googles all day?" One might imagine anyone uttering such foolishness would wink or wiggle an eyebrow to telegraph a tongue held firmly in cheek...but not CNN's baleful male spokesmodel. This sock puppet poltroon seemed that canned utterly sincere anchors must learn in the cradle.

PS-Will Tweety mingle and mix Obama and certain terror leader for a 3rd time this week during tonight's alleged broadcast???

I think it is strange that Republicans would take this avenue of attack. After all, weren't we repeatedly told during the Bush campaign of 2000 that he was annointed by God to lead this nation?

And its too bad we have no Democrats with access to editorial pages or the mass media. This really presents a perfect opportunity to remind the public - and the GOP - that they are the party of Rev. Moon, who not only claims to be the Messiah, but the monarch of America.

Of course, our right-wing-operated media would never remind the public about Moon's involvement with Bush and the GOP. We can't even get a Democratic candidate to point that out.

I didn't know Jesus was eligible to run for President.

Of course, if Jesus were to return to Earth, the Bushies would have declared Him an terrorist and shipped him off to Gitmo.

    Plastic Jesus, Plastic Jesus
Riding on the dashboard of my car
Though the sun shines on his back
Makes him peel, chip, and crack
A little patching keeps him up to par
  • Bostonian_Queer_in_Dallas · 1 year ago
I don't care if it rains or freezes,
Long as I got my plastic Jesus,
Ridin' on the dashboard of my car.

I'm afraid he'll have to go,
    His magnets ruin my radio,
And if I have a crash, he'll leave a scar.
  • gwpriester · 1 year ago
What a friend we have in cheeses.

    Sorry, I could not resist.

I was reading last year that there is NO EVIDENCE whatsoever that Jesus of
Nazareth even existed. The only evidence is the Gospels....bunch of scrolls
written with errata. There is, however, evidence that Moses existed because
his name appears in heiroglyphs in Egypt. But no evidence of the Christ. And
apparently the texts of the Gospels are a disaster of language problems. In
fact the early Roman Catholic church summarily dumped many gospels it did
    not like.

It is appalling that we've allowed rapturous idiots to run the show in the
    USA this long.

My plastic Jeebus has been made into a sacrilicious pendant - he now stands perched on top of a pair of souvenir Mardi Gras beads featuring naked breasts. :-)

I should upload photos when I wear it to "church" this weekend in Toledo.

The republicans are grasping at anything right now. Today McShame and Rove had coordinating messages. They want to portray Obama as an elite (of course) selfish man who doesn't love his country as much as himself. yawn.
  • catty · 1 year ago
I've heard it said that Bush's approval is close to the legal drinking age by two points.
They are looking at the polls and see the septuagenarin fossil ,Mccain is polling badly.People don't worship Obama, they just want CHANGE

I find it really hard to believe that 325 people would come out to hear Bush speak. Have they no shame?
  • Your_Uncle_Bastard · 1 year ago
Sweeetheart, there are always idiotic wealthy Republicans from Oakland County MI clamoring to suck off one or another of their criminal political brethren.

These are the last 325 people in Michigan still able to afford the gas to drive to see The. Worst. President. EVAH!
  • warsaw · 1 year ago
Re: the moronic 'no room at the inn' comment.
When Obama was born, it was common for innkeepers to tell mixed race couples that there were no rooms available. So, yes, the fake piety of his biblical reference was literally true at that time. No one on the left would use a manger analogy in a political context or fail to discern the historical truism of a 'no room at the inn' in reference to Obama. The wingnuts love these idiotic religious throwaway lines. They thought they were funny when their grandfathers used them 60 years ago.
  • LasloPratt · 1 year ago
I'm not any kind of an expert on the end times fixation of some folks, and I don't know if Cox is one of them. But I would venture a guess that what's really being suggested here is not that Obama is being treated too reverently, but that Obama is the anti-Christ.
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
or a rock star with one damn huge bunch of groupies, or a cult leader with millions of brainwashed followers...

according to Pastor Hagee the anti-christ will be a fierce-looking homosexual Jew...i haven't heard that one leveled at Obama....yet.
  • LasloPratt · 1 year ago
Well, it seems to vary from loony to loony. On some level the birth and life of the anti-christ is supposed to mirror that of Jesus, sorta like Bizarro and Superman. So, born in a manger...

Regarding Michigan's AG, Cox is your typical right-wing Rethug: Cox pushed the anti-gay marriage Proposal in 2004 that has now eliminated non-married partner benefits for ALL persons regardless of orientation; Cox publicly called Kevokian's attorney Geoffrey Fieger guilty of crimes in a public press conference AFTER a special prosecutor declined to file charges; Cox urged and facilitated the massive anti-Democratic Party witch-hunt against Democrat Fieger by the Bush DOJ for allegedly illegal campaign contributions to John Edwards in 2004 (80 FBI agents raided his law office, his home, and about 25 other people - and Fieger was acquitted, with the help of legenday attorney Gerry Spence); and Cox carried on a long-term affair with another woman while married to the mother of his children.

Yep, this is now "business as usual" for the public lawyers in this state. E.g., the gang of 4 Rethugs on the 7-member Supreme Court has all but eliminated lawsuits against businesses for any cause of action; the Oakland County Prosecutor (the wealthiest and most Republican of Michigan's 83 counties, north of metro Detroit) is under serious ethical investigations for abuse of his discretion (always seeing sexual predators where they don't exist) and using criminal databases for illegal political purposes; and Detroit City attorneys colluded with Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick to hide his long-term affair with his female chief of staff that led to the illegal firing of several city officials at the cost of almost $9 million to the City. Kilpatrick and his former Chief of Staff are now each under indictment for multiple felonies; the Chief of Staff had the decency to resign almost immediately, but Kilpatrick is fighting tooth and nail to stay in office with very ugly tactics and further besmirchment of the City's reputation.

I don't know what has become of this great state... it feels like we have become Mississippi or Louisiana economically, ethically, and quality of life. Damn.

P.S. I don't mean to offend the fine people Mississippi and Louisiana who have struggled for decades and even centuries from discrimination, poor leadership and few economic opportunites. I use them to illustrate just how far Michigan has fallen in terms of economics, social justice, and quality of life due to the deliberate outsourcing of jobs, elimination of social safety net, and impoverishment of the human condition. All thanks to the Lying.Fucking.Bastards in the Rethug Party and their enablers... especially in the C.C.C.P. - the Compliant Complicit Corporate Press.

P.P.S. Thanks for letting me vent just a little bit. I've been out of work for going on 4 years now (been living with several different relatives for 3+ years now). And yes, I am more than a little "bitter," Sen. Clinton!!
  • Your_Uncle_Bastard · 1 year ago
ARRGH! Reading this very well written litany of the absolute criminality of the Michigan Rethug cabal just makes me want to throw something at the screen.

Could NOT stop laughing when Fieger was acquitted - and can't stop crying that Kwame refuses to go...
  • gwpriester · 1 year ago
These republican attack statements, raising taxes, etc. are successful because our democratic leadership never challenges them. Rather than point out the obvious, that someone has to pay for all this incredible debt that G.W. Bush and his republican enablers have run up after blowing through (perhaps a poor word choice) that budget surplus that "tax and spend" liberal Bill Clinton left Bush and congress a pretty huge surplus,

But do we respond to their lies with the truth?
  • JamesR · 1 year ago
Well if he were Jesus he's make the first Jewish President too -
  • Your_Uncle_Bastard · 1 year ago
Mike Cox is nothing but a hateful fucking ASSHOLE. He's one of the major reasons I and my LGBT community members are now personae non grata according to the Michigan Constitution.

Likewise, he was at the forefront to strip domestic partners of hard-won benefits, and his constant lobbying on this front ended up with the Michigan Supreme Court telling us all that miraculously, if we have employer-provided health benefits, then we are de facto married (WTF??!). Can't have that!!

There is nothing that would please me more to see than this bigoted race baiter thrown the fuck out on his pasty fat stupid ass for making Michigan the test case for anti-gay bigots around the country.

I just can't say it loudly or often enough: FUCK YOU MIKE COX!!!! DOUCHEBAG!!!!!
  • AnalyticalLiberal · 1 year ago
Amen (see my rant about Cox a few comments above)!
  • KISSman · 1 year ago
This whole Jesus depiction really comes from their frustration. They can't stand that Obama withstands all of the normal slimey attacks that normally help sink a Democratic candidate.

I occasionally listen to Sean Hannity when I'm in the car (because there is no progressive talk around here and I get desperate the hear political talk -- even if it's laughably bad) and this guy has nothing. It's all Rev. Wright, Father Flager, Weather Underground, Michelle Obama's comments about "America being a mean country" and "never being proud of her country", etc. He rants about this stuff everyday and makes up things like "Obama is going to raise your taxes".

Now he adopted the new "arrogant" label to go along with his "elitist" attack thanks to Karl Rove. Yesterday, Hannity was saying, "You know, I was searching for the right word and I couldn't think of it, but Karl Rove nailed it. Barack Obama is 'arrogant'."

I believe that even they know they're screwed this time around and they can't stand that they're normal smears aren't gaining any traction.
  • warsaw · 1 year ago
The idea of Hannity "searching' for a common word like arrogant until he hears it from Karl Rove makes me ROTFL because it's so telling. It shows the level of discourse and phonyness on this brand of hate radio. They lie about struggling to find a word like arrogant when it's a word they are called every day all over the net. It's a tricky word to learn. It has three syllables. It's a hard word to grasp the meaning of because it sounds like so many other words. (It doesn't? Never mind) Nobody there ever passed third grade. "Karl Rove nailed it." Words suitable for the political coffin of Georgie W. Bush.
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
yeah, Hannity is scraping bottom these days...he's out to stop the Radical Obama Express!!!

it's hard to listen to him, but so fun when he starts screeching in frustration.
