I've been sitting on subdued joy all night and probably the full impact won't hit me till tomorrow.
I am wearing my lucky Obama tshirt and boy, it was lucky tonight.
Yes -- if Obama is the nominee, then by the time the GOP is done with him, he will carry 4 states and DC in November.
Get on your knees and swallow the certain fact that Obama will be the dem nominee, for denying the obvious will in time make it far more humilating and painful than it should be. Yes you can.

If current trends continue in Lake County, Obama should pick up ~47,625 votes, putting him in the lead (he's currently behind by 20,667). This is totally based on in my head math but can't be that far off, ... if you assume Lake County 28% of precincts is 28% of the population, and just scale up the numbers, Obama will get an additional 47,625 votes. Add in Monroe County (which Obama is also wining by a large margin) ... and consider Union County (which Hillary will win) is smaller than either Monroe or Lake by a large margin (likely only to have 7000 votes or so i'd guess based on the counties around it).
In my opinion, it looks like Obama has won IL! Hillary will HAVE to drop out now!

Though it's admittedly a small sample, I've talked to two people (lifelong Democrats) who openly admit they are switching to GOP because they will NEVER vote for a black man.
And for every one that admits it, there's probably 5 who won't admit it, but will vote for McCain.
Listen closely, you might hear a little squeak.
You know part of what you say is right, there will be people who will never vote for Obama, but judging from the way he has conducted his campaign I think people will decide that a 3rd term of Bush would be worse than a black man being president. Could be wrong but that is what I think.
