AMERICAblog: Sarah Palin's 18 lies tonight

  • evan_la · 1 year ago
I'll give her one on "McClellan". Simple slip of the tongue. The rest, though, inexcusable.
  • idunno · 1 year ago
No! She wants to be able to replace the Commander-in-Chief on a second's notice and she doesn't even know the names of the very people that serve under her? I think that was one of her bigger slip-ups of the whole campaign, if not the night. It's just as bad, if not worse than not being able to intelligently discuss U. S. Supreme Court decisions when she may be the one to nominate Supreme Court justices. Despite what our current president would have you believe, the smaller details DO count... and our president and VP should be doing crazy, weird things like, reading and learning and making intelligent, well thought out decisions. Ordinarily, the choice of VP wouldn't matter, but as the case of Theodore Roosevelt taught us, it could and it should, especially in when the presidential nominee has had remarkably poor health in the past and will only be getting older and more frail as he progresses through one of the world's most stressful jobs... should he succeed in getting it.

Biden lied all night, McCain did vote for the bill to give more funding to troups, and Biden lashed out at Obama for not supporting the troups. I will say Biden did a good job it must be tough defending a man that you previously said was wrong on most every issue, nevermind saying how rediculous his inexperiance really is. The fact is McCain was out front on Fannie and Freddie. Obama sued Fannie when he was a lawyer for Acorn for not providing enough of these sub-prime loans to lower income people who could not afford them. Obama claimed racism for not providing more, what a leader! The truth is Obama is a nightmare the worst we have seen, he talks like a dictator. The goverment should do everything take total control, and you idiots can't see that. Hope and change thats all I here from you, no one can give a reason why they support him. Obama will be the down fall of this country worse than Bush could ever dream of being. So to all you liberal morrons vote Obama the terrorists are counting on you.

go back to school. you're incoherent and illiterate. we hold our trolls to higher standards here.
  • Bostonian_Queer_in_Dallas · 1 year ago
Why can't you wingnuts spell? Rediculous should be ridiculous. Oh that's right...you people love ignorant Presidents and candidates. I guess it's all that ignorance you are so proud of.
  • Pangolin · 1 year ago
Please be nice to the stupid people. Even if you can't see the short bus they get off of it should be clear from the lack of complete sentences and logic who they are. If that doesn't work support for the GOP by the inarticulate should suffice.

Morons don't graduate from Colombia and Harvard Law School, silly person.

charlie rose spent an hour talking about the debate with 6 "experts". with the exception of the bbc journalist, not a single word about the issues. just vapid advice on how to rebrand yourself for the changing times.

I'm getting sick of the lies, and tired of the same old talking points. We get it already! Palin is just like us, so we'll forget about McCain's 11 houses and 13 cars. Actually, I think the "Joe six-pack" label Palin constantly uses is insulting to beer drinkers. It insinuates that "normal/regular" people slam a six-pack on a regular basis. I think the polls are telling the story.
  • unrepentant_expat · 1 year ago
A six-pack is not enough to numb the Palin.
  • LeeFromHamburgNY · 1 year ago
I thought she was talking about some guys' abdominal muscles...
  • Jodycue · 1 year ago
You are right Birdlady, Sarah might live in just one house, but she is worth millions. She has a lot of people taking care of things for her and her family. I don't. Give me some of that $700. million and maybe I can at least not worry that my Social Security check might not be here this month.

Have a look at the analysis I performed of the words used by Palin and Biden in tonight's debate. Just as for the 1st debate, I produced "bubble graphs" showing length and number of words and sentences and "word clouds" displaying which words were used more by each debater. You can find it all at my Word Face-Off blog: http://wordfaceoff.blogspot.com/2008/10/sarah-p....

Don't forget attributing John Winthrop's "City upon a hill" quote to Ronald Reagan. Bleh.

She was very well rehearsed. With a well written fiction of a script. Karl Rove's brilliance at his role as marionette and ventriloquist. Sadly many idiots will have thought she was very good last night. This is probably the only time they've seen Caribou Barbie at all, other than Tina Fey on SNL.

These past weeks, since she was nominated, remind me of John Guare's brilliant play "House of Blue Leaves". There is a character named Bunny, played exquisitely on Broadway by a young Christine Baransky, who is watching TV and is having trouble distinguishing reality from fantasy when JFK and the Pope arrive in NYC at the same time. The point of Guare's play is that America is in decline because the average person is being thrown enough images to ignore the actual substance of what the images are saying.

Caribou Barbie is actually not too bad an actor. Because what you saw last night was an act. A scripted play to manipulate the citizens to allow more of the getting fucked we've come to expect since 2000.

i find it hilarious that you list 18 "lies" and cite cnn as your source. really?!? i find it ironic that anyone with a molecule of intelligence can stand behind obama, especially in a time when we have access to unlimited information at the click of a button. you bitch about mccain having seven houses when barrack's own house was a gift from a convicted realtor. what about the elite private school he attended? hmmm. silent on that too, huh? i thought so.
and the whole "race" issue? i wish someone would please admit that he has more white in him than black. and by the way, that's not just my opinion-it's a biological fact.

i can forgive some misgivings, but the fact that you support a PRESIDENTIAL canidate who believes we have 58, i'll say it again, 58 states tells me all i need to know about you.

i'm filled with glee just thinking about the townhall debate!!!!

Jesus the trolls are really invading this blog of late.

Please don't remove the comments of us good Chriiist'ans... we want everyone to see how much more than you atheist homosexicals we know and how much better than you we are... no seriously, I don't think these comments should be removed or censored so that the rest of us can see the hypocrisy and idiocy of Sarah Palin's strongest source of support.
  • Bostonian_Queer_in_Dallas · 1 year ago
ROFLMAO...I just ADORE correcting their grammar, spelling, and syntax!
    Yeah...let the trolls drool here!!!

"There you go again"........I thought I was going to puke when she said that. I'm sure she was told to throw that in somewhere and the crowd would go wild.
  • LeeFromHamburgNY · 1 year ago
I almost fell off the couch when she said that Mac knows how to "win" a war and that he is the only candidate that has fought for us. I'm wondering what war he was in that we won??? We did not win in Viet Nam. Nixon withdrew our troops under intense political pressure and campaign promises...

Palin seems unable to comprehend that there are other sources of energy than oil and gas. Even worse she can't comprehend that the oil she promotes is increasing climate change and destroying her state FIRST. Never once did she mention Alaska's large geothermal resource.

Who's an energy expert? Not Sara Palin.
  • kirkaracha · 1 year ago
"She knows more about energy than probably anyone else in the United States of America." -- John McCain
  • markjoseph · 1 year ago
I really hate the "Palin is strong on energy" line of bull. No, she isn't. She is governor of Alaska. Alaska gets most of it's money from oil, even the citizens get like $3000 a year each from oil. It is in her and her state's best interest to keep oil prices high. If America is energy independent, oil prices sink and Alaska loses out.

Right on Mark...thanks for the tip on Morning Whiskey....there's a great flowchart out there today about the "Sara Palin Debate Flowchart"! If you need a good laugh today.

PS. Did anyone catch Biden's sound bite about another bridge to nowhere??
  • c1 · 1 year ago
Anyone notice most of Palin's lies were outright lies, whereas the the missteps by Biden were merely giving McCain too much credit for actually getting his ass in and voting on the issues in question?
  • PatO · 1 year ago
The lies were on Biden's side but he lied very well. It almost seemed that he believed that McCain voted against more funding for troops when he knows that is not true. I did think Biden did a great job and this is the reason, imagine you spent a year telling the nation Obama is dangerous, uninformed and unqualified to be President, now you have to defend him. Defending Obama is a very tough job because he is an marxist idiot who thinks he is running to be president of Russia. Did Biden actually say he is going to pay down peoples mortgages with tax payer dollars? Where are we? Is Obama rubbing off on Biden? I knew he was a socialist but that is closer to communism. How many payments do I have to miss for Biden to pay my mortgage? Is this a joke? No thanks Obama and Biden I have my own mortgage to pay, I don't want to pay for everyone elses. To the thought that high prices on gas favor Alaska , you idiot if our energy is coming from Alaska in record volume they will make more money, more money stays in US and prices drop. Supply and demand simple concept.
  • Gridlock · 1 year ago
Alaska accounts for 2% of the US energy supply.
