Joe, in the book The Rise of the Vulcans, it reveals the founding Zogby (I think his name is George?) started skewing polls for his college buddy Wolfowitz when Nixon was in trouble w/Watergate. Zogby has been compromised for decades.

    Good morning!
Nice poem, the plums were delicious, fresh and cold.
We're going to see a whole lot of credibility adjustments in the next few months and then again after the inauguration in late January. Zogby polls swing right, McCain's fabulous wealthy wife supports her ne'er-do-well hunk-hubby, Laura Bush hosts the Today show (coming up next week), Jet Li sinks to new lows in "Forbidden Kingdom," and even AmBlog changed its face with the new posting mechanism. Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose. Sometimes.

Firebrnd, I envy you- I would have loved to be there!

    Good decision, Joe.

I still hesitate to give realclearpolitics.com any clicks, because they were started by a couple of Wingnuts and are now owned by Forbes, I believe.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
Pollster.com seems to have the same numbers, minus the links to right wing columns.

    Good morning

Gary Wills says speeches link Obama and Lincoln

For the May 1 New York Review of Books, Gary Wills compares Barack Obama's speech on race last month to Abraham Lincoln's famous Cooper Union address in which Lincoln, while seeking the Republican nomination for president in 1860, disputed the Supreme Court's Dred Scott decision.

Heady stuff, but before Wills gets to that, he rattles off some neat Lincoln-Obama parallels that put the old Lincoln-Kennedy coincidences to shame.

    Busboy
Realclearpolitics just compiles the various polls and publishes them.

    ----

    I didn't say anything different.

I just said they were started by a couple wingnuts and are now owned by forbes, so I don't go to their site.

Indeed, since leaving the White House, the former president, according to a review of his records, has earned $1.25 million for six speaking engagements from Chinese businesses and forums. Three of these events were hosted by a Hong Kong-based private investment firm, one by a private real estate company, another by a spirits manufacturer, and another by a group that facilitates business-leader dialogue. On several occasions, according to the Clinton Foundation website, Bill Clinton touted the benefits of an open economic relationship between American and China.

    GOBAMA!

Just sent another C-note to Obama.

I can do this 4 more times by the election before I've maxed.
Not even in Bill's wet dreams can his wife have that kind of funding potential from regular voters!

    She is poison.
    Dump her.

ongress Quietly Repeals Martial Law Provision

April 17, 2008 in News by James Bovard | 53 comments

In late 2006, Congress revised the Posse Comitatus Act and the Insurrection Act to make it far easier for a president to declare martial law. Those changes were repealed at the end of this January as part of Public Law 110-181 (HR 4986), the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2008 (signed into law by President Bush on January 28, 2008).

Senator Patrick Leahy (D-Vt), who championed the opposition to the original law, was also the hero of the repeal. It helped that all the nation’s governors opposed the 2006 law.

Boise State Professor Charlotte Twight, the author of the excellent Dependent on DC, alerted me to the change last night. I checked on Nexis and the only news coverage I found regarding the repeal was a 322-word Gannett News wire story from February 1 that focused on how the repeal made governors happy.

What a shock when checking out the link brings one to the books they are hawking: Ann Coulter, Glen Beck, Bill-O, and Pat Buchanan, among others.
I don't need to look any further to know Joe hit the nail on the head: RIGHT-WING WACKOS!! Thanks Joe.

I just checked out News.max, and it's scarry! Seriously scarry! There's something wrong with the folks on the "right". Thanks for the head up.

Zogby used to poll me quite a lot. And let me say, I am middle-aged, and as liberal as you'll ever get. It made sense to me that Zogbt was inaccurate -- my whole life, I have always been outside the mainstream, so I wasn't surprised that a pollster that used ME would be, too.

I had wondered, however, why I hadn't heard from Zogby lately ... now I know.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
Realclearpolitics just compiles the various polls and publishes them. Zogby has Clinton up by 4 in PA and Rasmussen has her up by 3. However, none of the polls are taking in the "operation Chaos" factor which may give Clinton an extra 3% or more.
