Thanksgiving is next week, and President Bush could make it a really special holiday by resigning.
In happier days, Bush may have nurtured hopes of making it into the list of America’s mediocre presidents, but somewhere between Iraq and Katrina, that goal became a mountain too high.
If Bush gives up doing nothing by giving up his job, it’s possible that someday history might elevate him to the ranks of the below average.
“Doing nothing is almost the worst thing a president can do,” said the historian Michael Beschloss.
Due to budgetary concerns, the weather has been cancelled.

Tuned in Conan last night as Rachel Maddow was to be a guest. Don't watch Conan as a rule because he is terrible. Last night he did a "bit" about the Clintons that was very offensive and IMO completely out of line. I am not a huge fan of the Clintons but this was way over the top. Not funny. Couldn't stay long enough to see Rachel. Sorry about that. And NBC is replacing Leno with who????

Meanwhile, it was 16 degrees here in the mild Piedmont of NC...doubtless, many suffered last night and the power went out before dawn for thousands of people. Why can't the power companies fix their grids so this doesn't happen when we're in the grip of a 2 week hell frozen over period?

Apparently, we haven't seen the last of her. Sounds to me like she will certainly run in 2012.

My partner, son, and I just received notices from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama that our insurance is going up by $30.00 per month each....why? One reason is that we are not allowed to have a "family "plan with BC/BS. We had to purchase three individual policies.....do not tell me "seperate but equal" can work !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is Obama Screwing the Netroots?
When it comes to the netroots, Barack Obama has the long arm-short arm syndrome.
When I was first sworn into the bar, I had the good fortune of being mentored by an experienced and wise senior partner. One of the first things that he taught me in dealing with other parties was to be aware of the long arm-short arm syndrome. This is where a person has a long arm for taking, and a short arm for giving.
When it comes to the netroots, Barack Obama has the long arm-short arm syndrome. He has taken much from us in terms of support, voice, momentum, money, footwork and energy. Obama has given little, if anything, in return to the netroots. Unless you count disdain and scorn. And pokes in the eye with a blunt stick.
