John, when are you going to explain how everything you had predicted about what Hillary was going to do was all wrong?
And when are you going to explain how you can say this:
I just got a text message from Steve Hildebrand, the Deputy Campaign manager of the Obama campaign, and he asked me to thank all of you guys, our readers, for your support.....Classy people.
And this:
It's interesting to note that each comment has a "flag as offensive" button next to it, so that readers can inform the moderator that the comments are offensive. Either McCain's readers don't find any of this offensive, or McCain's staff was informed and didn't care.
But your blog is full of this:

Ok, you have listed several dead-on comments. Was there a point you wanted to make?

Yes yes and yes Chris. But are the Democrats and specifically Barak Obama capitalizing on this lousy economy and the weak dollar (and Phil Gramm) in any meaningful and devastatingly effective way??
I really hope they're just busy getting the media blitz organized right now and are not in fact just going to pass up the opportunity to hammer the Republicans with their own economy. So far today and yesterday, Obama failed to connect in any way the average American could appreciate.
Olbermann had the right idea. Just hammer away at the gas prices today VS when Bush came into office.

The likes of Henry Paulson and Ben Bernanke can jawbone the dollar all they want, but in the end, it will be to no avail. The real story is what is happening behind the scens that the MSM never seems to get around to telling us and folks, the news is not good. The US real estate market is going down the crapper and there are still billions in mortgages that are going under water. As there is nothing but hot air and bravado to back the dollar, stories like these are kept from view so as not to erode confidence in the American consumer any further. When countries quietly begin closing down their dollar reserves in favor of real money such as gold, you know the dollar is surving on life support. Oh my! Someone just came into the room and is ready to pull the plug on the ventilator that is the American economy.
Iran pulls assets out of Europe banks Mon, 09 Jun 2008, 21:27:09, Press TV Iran has withdrawn a huge sum of its foreign exchange reserves from European banks and has deposited some of it into Asian banks. "Based on a decision made by a government working group, Iran has switched to 'genuine' assets like gold and shares... We have decreased our foreign currency holdings in international banks," said Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs, Mohsen Talaei. "A portion of Iran's foreign exchange reserves, however, was moved to Asian banks," he added in his interview with Borna news agency published on Monday. According to the official, Iran keeps only the minimum currency it needs for its accounts to remain open in Europe but manages its accounts in Asia in a way that will allow trade transactions to continue. Iran has abandoned the dollar in oil trading in favor of the yen, citing the weakness of US currency for its decision. Iran has been selling nearly 700,000 barrels of crude oil to Japan on a daily basis in yen since mid-2007, Talaei concluded. The US has imposed sanctions against Iranian banks and continues to persuade countries to halt their business relations with Tehran. While some are of the opinion that sanctions have crippled Iran's economy, the refusal of financial institutions in Russia, China and Middle Eastern countries have proven such efforts futile. ran's annual international trade has reportedly exceeded 65 billion dollars and some foreign banks that had frozen Iranian assets have released the country's holdings.

If this keeps up, I will start a pool on what stage of loss they're at. I'm guessing stage 2:
2. Anger As the masking effects of denial and isolation begin to wear, reality and its pain re-emerge. We are not ready. The intense emotion is deflected from our vulnerable core, redirected and expressed instead as anger. The anger may be aimed at inanimate objects, complete strangers, friends or family. Anger may be directed at our dying or deceased loved one. Rationally, we know the person is not to be blamed. Emotionally, however, we may resent the person for causing us pain or for leaving us. We feel guilty for being angry, and this makes us more angry.
