AMERICAblog: Saudis tell Bush to go F himself, oil prices are just fine at $127/barrel

  • LawMichigander · 1 year ago
Okay this is seriously hurting Americans now. We really REALLY need to find a way to stop buying oil from the Middle East, those guys are total a-holes.
  • FNReedie · 1 year ago
Just remember .... its not just the foreign oil that is at $127 a barrel ... all the oil sold on the market is at $127 a barrel. This was just a show ... Bush and his oil men are are laughing their way to the bank.
  • jimfromthefoothills · 1 year ago
    Jimmy Carter was right.

    http://www.theonion.com/content/opinion/i_got_w...

I don't really give a crap about global warming in the future because foreign oil is bankrupting this country TODAY. We spend over $500 billion a year on foreign oil, in 2008 this will be $750 billion.

We need taxes on gross vehicle weight of passenger vehicles. We need laws on consumer packaging, we need higher energy taxes to promote conservation (either the US gets the money or the Saudis will).
  • doug · 1 year ago
SA couldn't pump more oil even if they wanted to. They are at full throttle now.
  • tbhull · 1 year ago
Let's invade Saudi Arabia, hang the royla family after a fair trial, rape their women, take their oil, shit in their mosques in Macca and Mdina, and wipr our ass with the Koran, in the name of god of course.
  • Jim Olson · 1 year ago
We should have been working to get off of foreign oil since the 1970's. I remember being in line for gas with my dad when I was a kid and he said so then.
  • bumpkis · 1 year ago
Bush and his oil men are are laughing their way to the bank.

I recently heard on some progressive talk radio that it is estimated that 60-70% of the price of oil increases comes from Wall St oil contract speculators.

Maybe we should NATIONALIZE their asses....

The end result of W's attempt at international diplomacy?

"Fill up your gas tanks now and don't plan any road trips this summer."

    Thanks, Georgie!

    Hey busboy

    You still out there?
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    Not a bad idea.
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
    Busboy

NO but I think a favorite troll is hitting everybody here. Did a little test last nite, mostly because I am pissed. Mr Troll was at 226 and got dropped to 78. Guess what, all of a sudden said troll bounced back to 130. Now that is just not possible because it was late at night.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    a refinery?

    ----

Refineries are at 85 percent capacity.

That's not an issue except for the Fox News/ Bush Butt Kisser crowd.
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
    Busboy

So Mr. Troll is probably using multiple identities to boost his "clout" ratings and what's worse brags about it while downgrading almost everyone who makes comments.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
These troll ratings don't mean much unless people start getting kicked off because of them.
  • jr · 1 year ago
    Bush is weak sauce
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
    Bush Bites

No they don't but it is not right that busboy and mirth are getting hit big time. It is not right that one asshole troll has figured out how to freep the system and yes, what happens is there if a limit and people start getting bounced? This is not right
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
Bus Boy has negative 3000 and he's still here.

    WTF?
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
How are they freeping the system?
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    BTW:

Funny seeing a banner for a "Free Newt" newsletter on A blog.

    Busboy

I don't think so, it took me a long time to reduce CDS2 down to 78 and the sob popped back this morning with a 130 rating. Then I noticed on the thread that he bragged about having a 156. You can get muliple identities in this stupid disqus and mark someone down several times. I just couldn't figure it out how anyone could drop a huge amount of points like boom. This is how he/they are doing it.
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
Little puzzles like this drive me nuts. So someone goes to your profile and if they want to downgrade you they follow each and every comment you made and mark it down. Then they go in with another identity and do it all over again.

I mean, isn't anyone wondering how CDS2 manages to have so many points over regular posters? What pisses me off that he brags about it.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
Ah well, I said this would happen when John started talking about adding rating systems.

Some of the blogs are more about gaming the system than they are about discussing issues.

I guess as long as they don't do anything with the negative ratings, it won't get that bad.

Once the negatives mean something, though. Watch out.

Sock puppets, gang troll-rating attacks...it can really become a mess.
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
    Busboy

It is not so much the points as someone deliberately screwing the system. Like hackers that cause havoc because "they can".
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
    Donot----

Trust me I am not busboy and I am sorry if I have spoiled your evening. I will leave you to your comments without interruption.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    Which one is CDS2?

Is that the lady who runs a photo of her and her dog?
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
    yep
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
Yeah, I wondered how a troll got such a high positive rating.

All she does is rip Dems all day, but her ratings are through the roof.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
I'll say this for Bus Boy.

At least he's an honest troll.
  • bumpkis · 1 year ago
I noticed I lost about 15 points over the course of 2 days that I did not post on here....so that means I don't get the the toaster I guess.
  • 57andFemale · 1 year ago
Astounding how ineffectual the Bush Administration has been.

"Supply and demand are in balance today."

I don't know if this is correct or nor BUT I do know that Americans use waaaaaay too much oil/gas. It is probably worse here, since I live in California, but when I drive on the freeway, going either to work or out of town, the vast majority of cars have one person in the car. Why do people do this, when it increases your commute by 30 minutes, an hour, 2 hours -- whatever? Beats me, but they won't ride light rail or carpool. No wonder the Saudis won't lower their prices -- Americans will pay whatever price they demand for oil.

It is time for Americans to GROW UP. No, just because you are American does not mean you can have whatever you want, when you want it. (Americans' absolute refusal to accept universal health care is a great example.) "I have mine -- screw you!"

Is anyone REALLY surprised that the rest of the world hates us/mocks us?
  • blackwolf · 1 year ago
You hit the nail on the head. America is spoiled and selfish. We think bigger and more is better. What you see in the economy is the pendulum starting to swing in the other direction. We'll go through a change, but the result will be how Americans will start thking with respect to wasting the world's resources.

We're fat, out of shape, reluctant to save money, and out of touch with reality. We don't really broadcast it, but other countries are ahead of us in technology and education. We're fast on the way to becoming a third world country.
  • Asterix · 1 year ago
Very apropos to your comment, fat people are bad for the world.
  • bumpkis · 1 year ago
Well Busboy, you must be very close to that Prius. Having a rating system in place reminds me very much of another site I consider a gathering of lemmings, but we won't go there tonight.

I guess I sort of miss HELL-O-SCAN and glasses guy.
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
I am for giving Busboy the Prius. I never laughed so hard as the one night he said he was a pinatta?, everybody takes swings. . And yes Busboy, I don't always agree with you but I still like your conversation.

"Seriously, why do we defend these people," indeed.

This is funny John. Bush went over there thinking he could play cowboy, and they told him supply is alread meeting demand.....haha. So, we block $1.4 billion in arms sales, the Saudis find a new source, and we're forced to find a new buyer...lol. This world is Fuc*ed. Big time Texas oil man..BS.

When are Americans going to realize that the deliberately devalued dollar is the key to high prices. Why should Saudi Arabia or any ohter nation sell their products for less (the dollar is worth almost 40% less in the last few years). Soon we will all need wheel barrows full of them just to buy gasoline for our cars.
  • DCinDC · 1 year ago
Get on your knees and Beg little Bush, American slave!
  • RobertCMH · 1 year ago
The reason why the Saudis won't increase their production is because they can't. Along with Mexico (another top-3 supplier) their oil fields are in decline. They have to pump in tons of seawater into the fields just to continue extracting what they get now. The world's now in post-peak oil.
  • Gorgonzola · 1 year ago
I heard the MSM prostitutes dredge up the old canard that the U.S. lacks sufficient refinery capacity because no new ones have been built due to environmental concerns. Can you see Bush/Cheney deny the oil companies anything? They would let Exxon/Mobil build an atom bomb factory in Manhatten if they wanted it.
  • benb · 1 year ago
Why did bush go over to Sauda Arabia and beg..and then be rejected? The White House must'v know what what going down in advance of the trip, If true, then what's the point of the trip,,,see our President get humiliated in from of an oil minister?
  • lynchie · 1 year ago
I understand that Bush and King Abdullah had a wild tongue fight, Abduallah smacked him on the ass and all was well in the land of Curious George.
  • heathwood · 1 year ago
Unfortunately the Saudis don't control the price of oil. They could produce more but we would just consume more. The high price of oil is due to the weak dollar.. Crude is priced in US dollars. Its been a bargain for every other currency holder. Bad news is that the price of crude will proably only go down during the next election month.

"High energy prices are going to cause countries like mine to accelerate our move to alternative energy," President Bush said he told the king. Is it Bad or good?
  • itsabouttime · 1 year ago
Its about time to put OPEC on the Terrorist Organization list. They are a imminent threat to the people of America, they're way of life, and are really ruining our economy. It's about time Bush did his job and declare OPEC a Terrorist Organization.

AQ-2, I think the site monitors really control the points. Being of the "tainted membrane" species; they use their limited powers bestowed upon them by "JOHN", to manipulate the points. So, just ignore the points, and, be your happy prescient self with the gifts that have been given.

AQ-2, I'd like to say that you have incredible political instincts and foresight for being so young; but, then the riffraff would just treat you like me.... Please, I like you better as an enemy..... Just like Bumpkiss; a guy who doesn't even live in this country who thinks he knows what's best for you and me....
