AMERICAblog: Senate passes hate crimes bill

terrya · 4 months agoBut...the hate crimes bill was attached to a defense appropriation bill, right? One that Obama said he might veto. So, it's not a done deal yet. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Van · 4 months agoYou're not wrong. As long as the F-22 funding is in there, the president said he would indeed veto the bill. (He's said this for a while before the hate crimes bill was attached.)

SCLiberal · 4 months agoDoes the president not have line item veto? He has to veto the entire bill?

RitornaVincitor · 4 months agoCan our government really manage to pass a law that says it is illegal to commit hate crimes against gays? That's a pretty big step for these Neanderthals. Maybe we're expecting too much. Maybe we should have just limited the number of hate crimes against gays to, say, 25,000 per year, and then gradually fazed them out over the next forty years.

thedevil · 4 months agoI know this is a (potentially) great day, but why can't the stupid MSM get a coupla more details right? AP says here Matthew Shephard was murdered in 1968. Don't they have a fact-checker? Anyone not in a coma?
