AMERICAblog: Senate Republicans Worry About 2010

  • okojo · 11 months ago
The Republicans have some expensive states to get seats like Ohio and Florida.. They also have to deal with possible contentious states like New Hampshire, David Vitter isn't going to have a fun re-election campaign, Richard Burr has to learn not to do the Liddy Dole treatment in running for re-election, (I think he will get re-elected) Lisa Murkowski may have a tough time if the right dem candidate appears. (I am not worried about Gov. Palin) Jim Bunning is vulnerable, he will probably retire

However, the Dems may not have a fun time either, they have worry about replacement Senate Seats like NY, MA when Senator Kennedy dies, and CO. Senator Boxer may have the fight of her life, if Meg Whitman or Gov Schwarzenegger runs for the Senate Seat.

Ah-nold is too Bushlike to want a Senate seat. Bushes don't negotiate and compromise, they dictate. That's why Jeb and Shrub chose to become governors in states with Republican-dominated legislatures that rubber-stamped whatever the governor proposed. A senator is not a star, he (or she) is one of 100. Schwarzenegger's ego couldn't take it.

Add to that, that all the GOP accepts now is extreme Right Wingers and, well, they be dead. =)

And, of course, they'll have to deal with they're living in the Al Franken decade.

The difficult path before the Republicans is a Republican creation. They set a passle of reich wingers forward as their ideologists, pushed aside the young and the forward thinking nwith trash talk and now they have nothing but old farts on tap. Funny.

Go ahead, filibuster and stonewall all you want...What a bunch of freakin' morons. The way the Senate Republicans are going, by November 2010 there will be maybe 35 Republican Senators left....keep at it fellas...

Cannot see any indication of the republicans changing their ways or putting party, egos aside to try to save our country.
Have not seen them admitting or facing up to the horrendous mistakes they have made these last eight years.
They are now blaming Bush totally for our problems, a man who they supported thoroughly, loyally and blindly.
The American people voted for change and hope.
The republicans MUST unify for the survival of our once great nation.

Boxer is the only senator we have that's worth a crap.

Feinstein is a worthless corrupt piece of shit.

I don't think I've ever heard a negative word about Boxer.

The Repubs have to face up to the fact that it's difficult to win elections when they appeal to CEOs, the religious right and racists. Isn't it amazing that Eisenhower had the fortitude and vision to implement the federal highway system? I doubt if he would be endorsed by the Repub party of today - too liberal (progressive and reasonable).

Say "bye bye" to Senator "Wide-Stance" Larry Craig.
I see a fine pick-up opportunity for Dems in ID and LA.
