AMERICAblog: Shooting at Holocaust Museum in DC

  • cowboyneok · 5 months ago
I'm thinking since the guy is a white elderly male, we might have to have Janet Napolitano apologize for that report Right Wing wingnuts frothed at the mouth over, again. Looks like another one of those people she tried to warn us about then had to apologize to everyone over because Rush Limbaugh and Republicans got their feelers hurt.
  • cowboyneok · 5 months ago
"James Brunn has connections with White Supremacist organizations." Just reported on MSNBC. Janet Napolitano WARNED US about this and was forced by Rush Limbaugh and Republicans to apologize.
  • Zorba · 5 months ago
It doesn't surprise me in the least, if true. With all the hatred spewed from right-wing radio, the mouth-breathers are getting even more radicalized. He probably was inspired by the killing of Dr. Tiller, too, since Roeder has been elevated to sainthood by the right-wing nuts. This is domestic terrorism, just as was Tiller's murder.

GSW HEAD. Nice job Security Guard.
Janet Napolitano Director of Homeland Security was right, again.

HA! I just called that Capitol Switchboard number and asked to be connected to the Homeland Security Senate Committee. I asked about the wacked out old white man who was a skinhead who just shot some people at the Holcaust Museum. Asked when the rest of us non-white supremicst non-neo Nazi Americans who are law abiding citizens, and also military veterans can start worrying about the wacked out religious white freakazoids. Lady said "There's always going to be crazy people." I interrupted her and said "Yea, it just seems as though most of them are white religious freaks like the Homeland Security Committee said. I just want to know when us Red, White, and Blue Americans, atheists and agnostics can start worrying about these freaks. I told her to pass my message on to the Homeland Security Senate Committee.
  • BeccaMorn · 5 months ago
Yep, yep... no right-wing hate-group violence we need worry about. All that hubbub about violent revolution and shooting people -- it was just talk, right?

Yet another instance of domestic terrorism, which the right-wingers will justify, ignore, and obfuscate.
  • dodger · 5 months ago
I know! But maybe the gunman thought he was trying to do Obama a favor since Jews hate Obama so much?

    and Michael Savage.
  • PeteWa · 5 months ago
Well, actually Michael 'savage' Weiner is Jewish... so I doubt a racist as rabid as Von Brunn would listen to him.

What keeps getting lost about the DHS report is that it started in the Bush Administration!
  • Chaz · 5 months ago
Not suprised....we saw these nuts all fired up at the Palin/McCain rallys during the Presidential campaign
  • LawMichigander · 5 months ago
Wow this is crazy, these people were in charge of the country for eight years. So now that they destroyed everything and lost a few elections they are shooting and blowing up people they disagree with. These wrong wing nut jobs are terrorists that should be renditioned to endless performances of HairSpray and Cats for the rest of their lives.

I went to the Museum on my 8th grade field trip in 1994 and I remember everyone being concerned for safety then because people didn't know if the museum would be attacked. I had some scary things happen to be as a kid as well as being a student of history so I am fairly desensitized. Obviously I am against crimes against humanity and violating people's rights but the only exhibit to effect me emotionally was the boxcar shoes one. That really bothered me.

I don't know how people can deny what happened, the Nazi's documented it like crazy and even had IBM come up with a solution to implementing the final solution. There is a photo of the CEO of IBM International on a trip to Berlin shaking Hitler's hand, kind of hard to deny. I also never understood American citizen's having an attachment to the Nazi Germany and its ideals. The USA was in a huge war for its survival against Nazi Germany. You simply can not be a Nazi sympathizer and a patriotic American, this is one of those rare totally black and white things. There was nothing German about Nazi Germany either. I love the German culture, history, food, and nice people and there really is no comparison. Hitler was a dark haired, dark eyed, short, one balled, closeted bi/gay, Austrian, Jew-His grandmother was Jewish. He prolly had syphilis and took amphetamine injections. There really is no way around the truth.
  • scottinsf · 5 months ago
This is horrible and my thoughts are with the victims and their families. Now to veer off a bit.....

It would not surprise me at all to see the next domestic terrorist attack be against a gathering of LGBT people; be it a Pride celebration, a community center or a bar.

The hatred instilled into these terrorists by right-wing neo-nazi organizations, the Mormon cult, and other wacked-out groups is seeping to the surface. We need to shine a brighter light on the hatred that comes from some of these so-called "harmless" groups and "churches". From the Mormons to the skinheads to the Phelps church to Operation Rescue on and on. We are seeing more of the results of the hatred they foment each new day.

Shine the light on these scum.

Eighty-nine years old and the first graf still says he was president of his fraternity (which in those days excluded Jews, and for all I know, still does) and played varsity football? Lordy. Some folks never grow up, but they buy real guns.

The Right is really firing up the wackos.

I thought the 90's were bad..when they went after Clinton.....

they've taken it up a couple notches since Jan 20th.
  • LuZenMyMnd · 5 months ago
I honestly didn't think these rabid racists were THIS serious. But they are.
  • Jim Olson · 5 months ago
Oh, they're serious. Seriously NUTS. America is more dangerous, not less, because of the reaction of the Republican party to terrorism of any kind, foreign or domestic over the last eight years. These people have been pushed and pushed, and backed into a corner, and it is no wonder that this is how they react.
  • Õ¿Õ · 5 months ago
They've back themselves into their own corner.
  • LuZenMyMnd · 5 months ago
Yes, I Really am. This crap really went wild during McShame/Lipstick campaign. They were so eager to point out that "he's not like the rest of us."

They used identity politics, along w/FauxNewz and the rest of the hate-filled mongers. It really is frightening. It seems to me that some of these free-speakers would acknowledge their rights AND their Responsibilities.

OT but here is a little good news today. According to TMZ Miss California is getting fired.

    http://www.tmz.com/2009/06/10/carrie-prejean-fi...
  • kevin · 5 months ago
I Know this probably isnt the place for it..but good news on other fronts...

MISS CALFORNIA: MS. Carrie Prejean ...FIRED!!!!!!!

UPDATE: We learned Carrie just received her letter of termination. She is officially out.

We've learned "biblically correct" Carrie Prejean will lose her Miss California USA crown today because she doesn't play well with others.

Sources connected with the pageant tell us even Donald Trump has now had it with Carrie, because she's violating her contract by not getting clearance to do her extracurricular stuff.

We're also told Carrie has been a no-show for appearances she was supposed to make for the pageant organization.

The firing, we're told, is strictly based on Carrie breaching her contract. It's not based on her political and moral views.

Carrie is getting her walking papers this afternoon.

The new Miss California USA will be Miss Malibu Tami Farrell.
  • LuZenMyMnd · 5 months ago
I don't want to bash her because she was "biblically correct" She's free to have her opinion just as everyone else is. The fact that she went "political" and failed to represent "Ms California" is the issue.
  • threadmonitor · 5 months ago
  • GoBlue · 5 months ago
Well, you know the religious right is going to spin the firing as religious persecution anyway. I hope Miss Malibu has enough sense to open her mouth only to smile.

  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 5 months ago
that happens every other day in bashings worldwide... they don't consider it newsworthy.

  • Õ¿Õ · 5 months ago
All these families should sue Napolitano, Obama and DHS. There will soon be enough victims for a class-action lawsuit.
  • Õ¿Õ · 5 months ago
They're trying to instigate violent revolution. He's at the end of his life so he wants to martyr himself. Like the terrorists and their tactics. Expect to begin seeing alot more of this following his and the other's example. They want the 'govmint' to sweep in with even more draconian measures which will cause more people to act like that. I've been reading alot of the posts out there from different website and there's alot of economic anger. People are losing their jobs, healthcare, homes but it's all mostly ignorant and misguided. I expect them to turn on each other and us instead of the real culprits who are to blame.
  • ckg1 · 5 months ago
I'll make this short and sweet:

When it comes to people like this, our attitude should be that shown in the movie Lethal Weapon: "We bury the f***ers."

Opposing someone's policies is one thing.

    This is something else entirely.
  • Michelle · 5 months ago
We can only hope that the backlash against this and Dr. Tiller's murder will be so strong that this kind of hatred and violence will be smothered out. I totally get that we have the right to free speech and all that - you know, the blanket that these kinds of groups use to protect themselves, but their time has passed. We don't need to be afraid of gays getting married - we need to be afraid of right-wing nut jobs and religious fundamentalists.
  • ezpz · 5 months ago
Has Pat Buchanan offered up any of his famous gems of wisdom yet?

It's only a matter of time before MSNBC brings him out for comment as they always do when it comes to 'racialism' or any kind of bigotry. He is, after all, the expert, no?

The GOP has lost all hope of becoming the party of morals because they do nothing to mitigate their hate speech. Once they've yelled 'fire' and have incited people to violence they've also lost their 'right' to free speech. They are a lawless, violent, traitorous, villainous party. They are so disgusting, they make cigarettes and venereal disease look good.
