    In the same vein, I wish everyone would stop using the term "gay marriage" and start consistently using the term "marriage equality". especially in the mainstream press.

    ...and it's not "new rights" it's enforcing existing provisions of the constitution. Equal simply means equal, it's not rocket science.

    Obama is so much like Bush. Bush used our soldiers as props when ever he needed a photo-op and then, did very little for them when they came home from multiple tours.
    Bush couldn't even serve one tour of duty yet, he pushed our soldiers into three, four and five tours. No wonder there are mental problems in our troops and that the suicide rates are rising. Obama is walking down the same path and that saddens me to watch this man repeating the same sins of his predecessor. If he has to continue reminding us that, " I am the president." I think I'm going to yell at the TV for him to shut up reminding us of our mistake.

    As a Gay vet it always breaks me up to see these dedicated professionals have their careers destroyed. Rachel has done a great job giving visability to this issue on her show. I would love to be a fly on the wall when the Prez and the LTC meet at the White House.
    BTW, my wallet is closed to the Democratic Party until I see some change I can believe in, on our issues.

    There has been no change on any issue. Healthcare? Still waiting. Government transparency? They won't talk about that. The wars? We have more troops deployed and are still employing blackwater. Financial accountability? Record bonuses for failed executives.

    Hopefully they will bring someone who has been denied visitation rights @ hospitals even though they had the "legal paperwork" to make decisions..Someone that has been a victim of hate crimes. Someone who has lost a job due to being gay...But then again as but then again as I saw one A-lister put it our Movement needs it's Top's as much as bottoms so with attitudes like that I highly doubt our A listers truly get it...

    What makes you think he'll be in attendance?

    Obama will drop by for a photo-op and then excuse to "work on" health care. I use the term "work on" loosely.

    I found it interesting that the letter supporting Lt. Col. Victor Fehrenbach referred to on Racheal's show was from someone who classified himself as a "Conservative Christian"

    I have been wondering how much the Fundie take-over of our Military has to do with the resistance to overturning DADT. Please, please, please read this whole article from Newsweek all the way to the end; maybe it's a clue to what may really be the issue:
