AMERICAblog: Sleep-deprived. That's the latest excuse for the Bosnia lies.

  • Dave of the Jungle · 1 year ago
When I get sleep deprived, I always make shit up about sniper fire.

    It's neurologically hard wired, probably.

See my forthcoming, "Sniper fire hallucinations in the veracity challenged sleep deprived population."

The other day, I was sleep deprived and said, "I had sex with my crystal meth dealer in Denver."

That was weird; especially since I haven't been to Denver in 15 years.

If sleep deprivation is a problem for Clinton, how does she propose running an effective general election campaign after Labor Day, and how would she fare as president?
  • Indigo · 1 year ago
Sleep deprivation is no excuse, she's fishing for a tactic just the way she fished for hair styles during the first Clinton administration. A cornered rat will bite and she is cornered by her own incompetence. The nomination was hers to loose. It looks like she lost it. I'm as guarded about her candidacy as I am about the ultra-lame middle school rating system is DISQUSt.

Hillary lie? What a surprise ... NOT! Back when Bill perjured himself in front of the American people, I honestly thought he should have been kicked out of office. He lied right to the face of everyone. And you know who backed him up and lied right along with him? Yep - Shillary herself. We need to send this mutt back to the doghouse. What a sleazy family of crooks.
  • GrantinHouston · 1 year ago
Hillary claims her Bosnia statement on St. Patrick's Day wasn't part of her prepared speech, just an off-the-cuff anecdote. The MSM isn't picking up much on the fact that she said the SAME thing nearly verbatim at THREE earlier campaign venues.

    http://www.newsweek.com/id/128977

She doesn't misspeak....she LIES! Hillary's whole life, even her autobiography, has been a stretch of her imagination. She seems to have something against telling the truth and laughs it off when caught red-handed in a lie as her remembered "memory"! She is a legend, a work of fiction, in her mind.
  • philip · 1 year ago
    Sleep-deprived my ass!

If Hillary needs sleep that badly, I hope she goes to sleep tonight and pulls a Rip Van Winkle and sleeps at least through November 4th.
  • sittenpretty · 1 year ago
this is so bizarre, all she had to say was, over her 8 years in the white house, she gleaned much information, and second hand experience, that led her to do her own reserch on policy...all this could have been avoided...they say she is smart...must have NO common sense!
  • Sage24 · 1 year ago
This is just BS and weak excuses. Hillary was quite alert, and in fact she said she remembers clearly the story she repeated (wearing the black/green scarf), to a naive audience. Well, if she was sleep deprived, and could not remember important events, she really is not qualified and able to be President.
She will be unable to keep up with such a busy schedule, and she will be lying to heads of nations, and maybe cause an international incident.
She was under the impression that she could get away with it, when she kept exaggerating and lying about her so called experience. The Clinton camp after playing dirty politics, and thrown the kitchen sink at someone from her own party, and endorsing the republican candidate, have even managed to convince their naive supporters, that it was the Obama camp that is attacking poor, defenseless Hillary.

The question now is, can we nominate a candidate who has impaired judgment (voting for Iraq), and who now is memory impaired.

    I think not.
  • GrantinHouston · 1 year ago
Hillary can split her time with Bill and Chelsea, each taking a work shift so she can get some sleep. Her campaign has been a three-front affair with Bill and Chelsea helping her cover every spot.

At Indiana University, Chelsea only attracted a crowd of 300 at a university of 40,000. That included having actor Sean Astin accompany her lately to help draw crowds. Seemed most at IU were most excited to see Astin and kept giving him a cheer of, "Rudy, Rudy, Rudy......" Chelsea got her first heckler of the campaign who asked her how she felt about Monica. Chelsea got pissed off, said in 70 colleges she has spoken before in the campaign, NOBODY had ever asked her such a question and she told him "it is none of your business!" Chelsea visits Butler U, Ball State, and Notre Dame tomorrow. Bill and Chelsea started their Hoosier trek on Monday at Dyngus Day (Polish "Mardi Gras") festivities in South Bend before Bill took off and hit several county seats between that city and Terre Haute. He was accompanied by former Gov. Kernan and was be met by Sen. Evan Bayh in Terre Haute and today was stumping in Kentucky. Bill Clinton isn't even filling Hoosier high school gyms but then Indiana is a red state, the only Midwestern State to go for Poppy Bush in 1992, NOT Bill Clinton.

You have your proper screen name back -- BRAVO!

In re flat versus intended replies, I don't believe that the indented variety will show up on the main comments page, but you can go into the so-called "Community Page" where across the top you will find a menu that lets you choose "flat" or "threaded"-- which I think means indented -- also, you can always go into your "view full profile" page and look for direct repllies to all of your comments.

    I know, I know...it's all so complicated.

    Speep deprivation -- really?

Sleep deprivation can cause a variety of symptoms -- mental and physical -- but lying and exaggerating and making up shit to pad a really thin résumé when running for president is not one of them.

Note to Hillary: There is a well-documented remedy for sleep deprivation -- remove yourself from the sources of strees, take a vacation, get lots of sleep, and talk to your doctor about sleep medication if necessary. And stop lying, because it only causes more stress when you get caught on tape.

We were all sleep deprived when serving on our submarine in the North Atlantic in the Cold War. Its awful scary to think the Commander in Chief wouldn't be able to distinguish reality from make believe if she just happened to be sleep deprived.
  • Sarah B. · 1 year ago
    cowboy -- BRAVO!

    Excellent point and deliciously well-stated!

We have had a Commander-in-Chief who can't distinguish reality from make believe for the past seven years and look at how well that worked out. The last thing we need is another fabricator in the White House.

The very notion that Hillary's eight years as First Lady would qualify her to be the President of the United States was always laughable on its face -- and if she had better judgment, she would have known that was the case. But lousy judgment is Hillary's tragic flaw.

David Brooks says in the NY Times that Hillary has only a 5% chance of winning at present....

Let’s take a look at what she’s going to put her party through for the sake of that 5 percent chance: The Democratic Party is probably going to have to endure another three months of daily sniping. For another three months, we’ll have the Carvilles likening the Obamaites to Judas and former generals accusing Clintonites of McCarthyism. For three months, we’ll have the daily round of résumé padding and sulfurous conference calls. We’ll have campaign aides blurting “blue dress” and only-because-he’s-black references as they let slip their private contempt.

    http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/25/opinion/25bro...

If Hillary was a REAL Democrat and cared about he party instead of herself, she would do as John Edwards and the rest....drop out.

Because John McCain, and his buddies Joe Lieberman and Lindsay Graham say Iraq is such a success:

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080326/ap_on_re_mi...

"US, Iraqi troops battle Shiite militia By ROBERT H. REID, Associated Press Writer
    4 minutes ago

Iraq's leaders faced their gravest challenge in months Tuesday as Shiite militiamen loyal to anti-American cleric Muqtada al-Sadr battled government forces for control of the southern oil capital, fought U.S. and Iraqi troops in Baghdad and unleashed rockets on the Green Zone.

Armed Mahdi Army militiamen appeared on some Baghdad streets for the first time in more than six months, as al-Sadr's followers announced a nationwide campaign of strikes and demonstrations to protest a government crackdown on their movement. Merchants shuttered their shops in commercial districts in several Baghdad neighborhoods.

U.S. and Iraqi troops backed by helicopters fought Shiite militiamen in Baghdad's Sadr City district after the local office of Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki's Dawa Party came under attack, the U.S. said. Residents of the area reported intermittent explosions and gunfire in the area late Tuesday."

    That makes two of us!

Reid: “Things are being done to end the Dem Primary before the Convention.”

What's up with this elitist over-lord shit, anyway, where the Party elders will "take care of everything" behind the scenes? Note the passive voice -- "things are being done" -- it's like when someone says, "Mistakes were made." It's the first sign of incoming bullshit!

"Things are being done"....WTF? Okay, but what exactly is "being done" and by whom?

And when do the rest of us -- the voters -- get to know what our wise Superdelegate elders have decided for us. Wasn't it these very same elitist Democratic Party officials who got us into this primary/caucus mess in the first place? Please!

It's beginning to feel like a Laurel and Hardy movie when Oliver Hardy says, "This is another fine mess you've gotten us into."

Why do I have the sinking feeling that Harry Reid would like to see Hillary Clinton in the White House? Is it because they are both DINOs?

Still, when someone in a position of authority delivers a cryptic statement like "Things are being done"...I become very nervous, not to mention suspicious -- especially, when the speaker is Harry Reid. I don't trust him and with damned good reason. Harry likes to play games.

    Sarah,

No matter what Reid may want personally, I don't think he is willing to decimate the Democratic Party on a whim. Sit tight, I think they will have some kind of small convention that forces the delegates to vote in the open and what comes from that will be the party line.

Mrs. Clinton needs to immediately cease her lying about her travels as first lady as well as her dispicable racist and religious attacks on Obama and apoligize. She did not misspeak; she was not sleep deprived; she LIED. Her slimy advisor Wolfson knows she did not misspeak and he lies when he suggests that she did.
She would be much better served by attempting to explain to the public at large why Ann Lewis, described as a top Clinton aide, and thus presumably speaking for Mrs. Clinton made the following statement to a United Jewish Communities group on March 18, 2008: "The role of the presidents of the United States is to support decisions made by the people of Israel."

Uh...so, by saying that places the First Lady go are too poor, too small, or too dangerous, and assuming that no one would actually send their spouse into the line of fire given the choice, doesn't it follow that everything on Hillary's recently released schedule B-list material unworthy of the President's attention?

So, in essence, Hillary's Presidential experience is touring a bunch of podunk locations she's sent to make America seem interested in their wellbeing.

Not only is this not presidential experience, it's beneath the rather limited bar usually set by the vice-president of B-list funerals, no?

What a catastrophic argument to repeat over and over and over again.

When did the word "misspoke" become part of our vocabulary? The last time I remember a politician saying he "misspoke" was when Gonzales was caught in a lie in his testimony before Congress. Saying you "misspoke" is a way of avoiding having to admit you out-and-out lied. How do you "misspoke" (on four different occasions, no less) about whether or not you were shot at? It irks me that the MSM do not challenge the term "misspoke" and call it for what it is... a bald-faced lie.

Now today, I heard Hillary say it was really just a "joke" and that everybody should "lighten up" about it (her words). Well, what is it--- misspeaking, or a joke? They are not the same thing? And what's the joke in saying you were under sniper fire? And how is it a "joke" if you're describing it as if it seriously happened?

I've lost all respect for Hillary.
  • pcvirginiabeach · 1 year ago
Hillary has lied multiple times during this primary. This one is big because it is bold faced and the press is on it because it involves combat, and her credibility for claiming she had a major role in things as first lady....
Making an assertation that they sent her somewhere when "it was too dangerous for the President" to go, simply does not pass the irst glance honesty test. Why does she feel that insecure about her role as first lady that she constantly needs to lie about it... that she needs to lie about the very essence of it?

Here are some major things Hillary has told bold face lies about.

She lied about her involvment in SCHIP. She did not sponsor it.
She lied about her involvement in the Northern Ireland peace accords.
She lied about her previous positions on NAFTA.
She lied about her support for the Invasion of Iraq. She flat out supported the invasion, and used evidence from her husbands time in office to further justify an attack. She was one of the biggest hawks on Iraq, Her assertations that she "thought Bush would use diplomacy first" are a flat out lie. You do not have to take my word for it, anyone with a computor can watch her floor speech on the vote on youtube.

She has lied multiple times about her opponent.

She lied about Obamas position on NAFTA.
She lied about Obamas posiiton on Choice.

This latest lie is nothing new. She has continually lied throughout this campaign. Anyone who cares to add more examples, feel free.
  • lynchie · 1 year ago
See its the lying that is the problem. You have to have a perfect memory if you are going to lie repeatedly. Hillary is a patholocial liar. She just can't stop herself and when confronted makes the lie bigger. I guess being co president with BillO did teach her something and that was to lie. If you keep repeating the lie you have to start believing it so it is easier to repeat.
We need to stop all this fussing. Hillary has to go away. The effort being expended to catch Senator Obama in some kind of mistake which she thinks will then make the delegates switch to her is unbelievable. BillO yesterday claiming that the regular delegates already committed to Senator Obama do not have vote fpr him is beyond lunacy. This campaign makes the Dems look like some banana repupublic at the same time acting like a spoiled kid who was promised something and didn't get it. Hillary you have been exposed, you are a mean, deceitful person. A person who is blindly following what you deem to be your destiny in spite of the fact the majority don't want you. In some ways I wish Gore and Kerry had shown some of your greed for the position, maybe we wouldn't be watching Chimpy continue to stagger through his Presidency.
Liars have no place in the Whitehouse we have had a Presidency for 16 years filled with liars.
  • Zoe_Brain · 1 year ago
It's just Swiftboating. Sure, there's videos of her, but Kerry's tale involved actual geographic dislocation of countries. Just use the same tactics now as then, and by the time of the election, it's the military and other eyewitnesses who will be regarded as the liars.
  • pcvirginiabeach · 1 year ago
Kerry never told a tale. Kerry actually was in combat in Vietnam. Kerry has a silver star. Kerry most certainly traveled cross boarder into Cambodia to support raids as did almost every other Riverine boat Commander there at that time. On its face, Kerry's assertation that he took his boat across boarder rings true... there is no tape or record disproving Kerry's statements. unless you beleive that the special forces he was carrying were limited to operations in Vietnam? If you believe that, I have some ocean front property in AZ for sale.

One last point, Hillary Clinton did not hold a security clearnace during her time as first lady. All these claims she is making about Bill Clintons experience being hers, cannot be true. She was not read in on the details of anything that was classified.

There is NO WAY in hell, she "misspoke" 4 separate times -- reading from a prepared speech, in the manner in which she did.... just look at her little smirk/laugh -- reminds me eerily of another smirking chimp...
