Yes, the fact that he is not a licensed plumber disqualifies him from being called Joe the Plumber. But the Republicans are evidently so accustomed to accepting lies that a Republican candidate could recite Mein Kampf for all they care. They believe what they want to believe, and the facts be damned.

No... looks like "Joe the Plumber" has ditched McCain. "Joe the Plumber" almost tackled Barack Obama with his question. It proves what a narcissist he really is. He WANTED the attention and now that he got it he and Palin/McCain want to say the "investigation" of him is some kind of victimization.

Unlicensed. Claimed he was going to buy a business that was not for sale, and doesn't have the money for anyway. Domestic abuser. Doesn't pay taxes. Better off under Obama, regardless. Whines about all the attention, but keeps appearing in public, and now wants to be a celebrity.

Only in RepublicanLand can someone continue to avoid paying their taxes and yet afford to hire an agent to market themselves as a hero and spokemodel. The GOP has been taken over by the ultimate in welfare queens - those who unabashedly live in comfort while contributing nothing to society.
Joe the Opportunist naturally expects everyone else to pay for his children's education, for the roads he drives on, for the bridges he crosses - and now for his tenuous standing as the allegedly Carhartt wearing white male welfare queen on the payroll of the Republican Party. And yet the GOP can't figure out why the only people who relate to him are his fellow welfare queens and their golden parachutes at corporate headquarters and on Wall Street.

Joe the Plumber doesn't feel real to me. Eventually, I think we'll learn that it was a set up from the beginning. That he was a paid operative sent to confront Obama to open up a trajectory for the McCain campaign.
That the Joe the Plumber narrative doesn't make sense is precisely what makes it so scary. It apparently engages those who eschew facts and logic. Joe is some sort of everyman totem for people who believe they'll hit the jackpot in the next lottery.

Country has-been Aaron Tippin has inserted himself into "Joe the Plumber's 'career'"...
From Wikipedia:
In 2006, Tippin formed his own record label — Nippit Records, a joint partnership with Rust Nashville. His first release for the album, Aaron Tippin: Now & Then, produced the singles "Ready to Rock (In a Country Kind of Way)" and "He Believed", the latter of which peaked at #55 on the country charts, and the former failed to enter the country music charts. On September 9, 2007, Aaron released a new single called "Drill Here. Drill Now." which was inspired by the "Drill Here" movement led by Newt Gingrich at his American Solutions organization.

I watched McCain this morning and over the past few days, he is, IMO, coming on strong. He is sticking to issues, gone are the smear tactics, just the issues and quite honestly he is sounding better and better. Sure he still invokes Joe the Plumber but his overall speech is strong.

Yes, he is still trashing Obama but on the issues, lies sure, but all connected to issues. There is a different feel to his speeches over the last few days. Word is McCain is a strong closer and I think I am seeing that side of McCain. I could be wrong, I hope I am wrong.

I've mentioned this elsewhere but I don't mind repeating myself I don't mind repeating myself.
Joe the Plumber - as an "ideal" - represents a Republican wet-dream voter. He's the guy who knows voting for Obama is in his best interests, but he's STILL going to vote for McCain.
That's why the McCain campaign keeps trotting him out. He's the guy that tells you it's OK to be stupid. You say you don't know WHY you don't want to vote for Obama? That's OK. You don't HAVE to have a reason. Joe doesn't. You say you're not an educated voter? You don't HAVE to be! In fact, we recommend being as ignorant as Joe! You're better off. Who cares if McCain's economic & health care plans suck and he intends to keep us in Iraq indefinitely? You KNOW John McCain, just like you know ol' Joe the Plumber, and lots of guy just like 'em! Do the right thing. Do the Right thing. Do the White thing! Go like Joe and vote for McCain!

I also love the PROPAGANDA about how cruel Democrats were to pluck "Joe the Plumber" from his happy obscurity and thrust him into the glaring limelight and INVESTIGATE HIM simply for asking a good question! Uh huh... "Joe the Narcissist/Opportunist" hasn't skipped a beat. Everyone, including loser Republicans, know this was "Joe the supposed Plumber's" ticket to B-list stardom. You have to be a very sad individual to buy into the whole "Joe the Plumber" schlock. It REALLY says a lot about the paternalistic juvenile way Republican politicians treat and campaign to their voters.
Anyone catch John McThesuleh this morning LIVE on MSNBC campaigning with the very ABSENT "Joe the Plumber." Seems he created an INVISIBLE MONSTER! John introduced him and HE WASN'T THERE! He ended up having to say, "YOU are 'JOE THE PLUMBER!'" It was a very senior moment for him. So sad... so sad...

I wonder with all the publicity, how Joe's doing plumber-wise. Has it hurt him or helped him? Would people be hiring him because he's a loutish, no-nothing Republican (a guy you could go plumbing with) or are they avoiding him because he's so stupid they're afraid to have him fool around with their pipes?
cowboyneok
Joe will never pick up a wrench again. McCain has given him a ticket out of plumbing without a license so that he can now launch his country music career. Then again, he is so multi-talented and doesn't know anything about policy so he will probably become a successful Republican politician. I am hoping that when he gets paid for his country music that he starts paying his taxes.

Joe is purely a manufactured personality: A gimmick....Kind of reminds me of "the Old Shoe in wag the dog" The hero in that movie story of a US marine caught behind enemy lines, However, they use a picture picture of a little known murderer. To create the character. The public bought it! The Old Shoe" is "created" and played on the radio, dedicating it to Sergeant Schumacher, making it a massive hit! Then he creates the story of how some people are expressing their solidarity to the war hero by throwing their old shoes onto tree tops. Soon all of America is throwing their old shoes onto tree tops! Life imitating art!

Every time I hear them give those ridiculous lists of names and occupations in their stump speeches, I shake my head. It makes no sense. I'm willing to bet that the great majority of the people they are referring to would be better off financially under Obama. And if that's true, what's the point of the whole exercise? They seem to be using it as shorthand for people who don't like the concept of "spreading the wealth around" even though they apparently have no idea what that really means, or that our country has been doing exactly what Obama proposes for many many years.

There is enough tape from the day after the debate to cancel any plans Joe had of running for Congress in Ohio. He stated that he grew up in the south and was upset to find out he was a "yankee" at the age of 18. How could you not know where you were born before you turned 18? Ohio is also a "yankee" state!

The fact that they want this phony to so desperately be their savior says a whole lot about the fragile mental state of McCain campaign. Hopefully Joe's not too deep into recording that country album so he can do a few campaign spots for the man who foisted his non plumbing ass on a beleaguered nation.
There was a Samuel J. Wurzelbacher stationed in Alaska in the A/F who got a few speeding tickets back in the early 90s. Also someone with the same name who lived on Keating Ave. in Tucson, AZ., also in trouble with the law. And a domestic violence case involving Kimberly W. whose name is on the deed at Samuel J. Wurzelbacher's address in Holland, OH.
All of this is available online...and if the Rethugs' "Joe the Plumber" was born in 1973, it's probably the same guy. At least several sites believe they're all connected.
But what puzzles me is, why does he have custody of his son? Needs the tax deduction?

I can't believe Joe got an agent...and has hopes for Congress- that's just ABSURD!
The GOP's obsession with Joe I think is hurting them more and more. At first the phenomena was good for marketing and made everyday Americans connect with McCain. This is a brilliant move on the part of the McCain campaign. In his current tax bracket, Joe the Plumber would do better under Obama's policies. So what do they do? They move him into a tax bracket that would do better under McCain.

Joe the Plumber for Congress '10!
I think he'd be great. Qualifications:
Real elite -- doesn't sully his hands with any plumbing. At least not any licensed plumbing. Has thoughts on the world situation, doesn't keep them to himself regardless of whether they're right. Refuses to answer substantive questions, leaving them as an exercise to the reader. Doesn't pay taxes -- just like many Congressmen. Lies about everything.
There are plenty of Republican-represented districts in the country whose representation would improve with this guy. Come on, Sam or Joe or whatever your name is, you can do it! The Democrats won't stand a chance with you on the ballot! Just make sure the seat you run for was held by a Republican, so you can get the extra treat of denying the Democrats a pickup opportunity. There's no way ::wink:: a Democrat can beat you!

I can't help but feel the "Joe the plumber" has been working with the Mccain campaign from the beginning and was planted to ask Obama the question about taxes. I heard one report a few days ago that this guy elbowed his way to the front to meet Obama, as if he was on some kind of mission - my take from the questioning of Obama was that he was prepared with pre-planned questions. But then this is the moment that Obama said "Spread the wealth" and so its hard to say. At any rate, Joe the Plumber is a loser, just like the GOP.
And the good news? Palin will come out of the smoke as their leader. The GOP is history, for a long time to come.
