There was an article on firedoglake a while back saying there was evidence that as some insurance companies had pretty much successfully culled their rolls of people who actually were sick, they began looking for other ways of saving money and were combing through women's medical records and dropping them if it looked like they might try to become pregnant -- for instance, if they STOPPED taking birth control pills.

When we finally get to the table to discuss universal health care, we need to "uninvite" the insurance companies. They have no business playing the middle man between the government and the people. We do not need these people for us to have health care. Why, Obama thinks they need to be at the table will continue their business of drawing money from the people or the government. Why do we continue to put up with these blood suckers? Time to shut their lobbists down by putting the House of Representatives and the Senate on notice regarding accepting money from this group. We need the insurance companies out of the health care business. They went too far when they usurp the doctors orders with denied insurance claims.

insurance companies lobbied for the Medicare payment cut for doctors. They're the scum of the earth

Technically, that was a nail gun, not a staple gun.
If only I had known that the insurance company had been playing Calvinball this whole time.

If it wasn't so accurate, it would be funny.

My specific beef is with dermatologists. Nothing is covered because everything is considered cosmetic. These guys have a racket going.

"Insurance?" "Insurance?" What's that word mean? I vaguely remember hearing that word about three years ago when I lost my job. If anyone wants to know how to pull a tooth safely, let me know--I had to learn how to do that. Just remember to boil your pliers first.

Didn't anyone ever read (or see) John Grisham's The Rainmaker? Even with Matt Damon as the idealistic lawyer hero - it told the truth about how insurance companies operate.
If only I had known that the insurance company had been playing Calvinball this whole time.
