AMERICAblog: Sorry Cliff Clavin, but democracy did not originate in America

I give Clavin credit for knowing that Socialism does not refer to people who like to hang out with friends a lot. He's a step ahead of the herd.

Morn Idiots, Clowns and the new word Buffoons. Further proof why the right is always wrong.
Here is a recommendation I have been handing out for years to anyone that is going to College, pick a country you always dreamed of or wanted to visit, now make sure you are solid in your Major, start studying the Language of the Country you are going to visit, now your Senior year apply to finish at a University in that country.
This part is very important, purchase two tickets, one round trip and one one way, use the round trip to come home, visit family and friends enjoy the food you missed plan on staying the summer (bet you don't make it pass 45 days), now use the one to return and you will probably never come back here, Yes it is that good.
America may be one of the best Nations but unless you step and and compare you will never know.

According to Wikipedia...
Ratzenberger was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, the son of Bertha (née Grohowski) and Deszo Alexander Ratzenberger.[11] He attended St. Ann's School in Bridgeport and Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut.[1] He moved to London in 1971, living there for ten years.[1] Ratzenberger has two children from a 19-year marriage. Ratzenberger was a tractor operator at the Woodstock Festival.[12]
Really - he was at Woodstock? But I'm sure he didn't get high, right? Oh, wait - I'll bet he took the brown acid and that's what happened to his brain.

I'm sure it's wonderful Chris. Did you know that in Britain they just passed a law that says you are allowed to pay for a private physician out of your own pocket if you can't see your doctor for 18 weeks? H1N1? 18 weeks? you're dead, pardner...

Did you know that in the US there are 46 million people who can't see a doctor at all -- never mind 18 weeks? They don't have one. If they do decide to pay out of their pockets -- assuming they have the $250 for an office visit -- they will have to wait up to nine months because they are not a current patient.
Oh wait, the can go to the ER -- and the few hours there will only cost them $750 to $1,000.

"Woodstock Democrats." I like it! I identify as "Casually Marxist" on Facebook but I can change. ☺

It's the new "San Francisco Values" meme - so I guess my "Hendrix Hippy" status can remain intact as well.

Every time I see the phrase "San Francisco Values" I get a mental picture of the episode on South Park when Stan took up anti-polution as a lifestyle and moved to SF where his newly fashionable cronies and he gathered for sniffing parties, farting into a wine glass and then sniffing it in smug satisfaction. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but the imagery is disturbing. I'll stay with Woodstock Democrats altough Hendrix Hippy works too.

I AM a Woodstock Democrat......shortly after that I spent a considerable amount of time in Europe, winding up working in a kibbutz in Northern Israel. Both socialist experiences were exceptionable. Take your quasi-hijacking attempt at the American flag and shove it.

Its a little known fact that the architecture in D.C. is part of a paradox. In fact, not a lot of people know this, but D.C. was copied from Greco-Roman sources. Now future time travelers from Europe copied those designs from modern Washington and gave them to ancient Greeks who built the buildings which inspired Washington D.C.
Clearly I'm not a writer, but here is a real Cliff Clavin saying which should improve everyone's day:
"Well ya see, Norm, it's like this. A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members. In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, as we know, kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers." "

Would Cliff Clavin had been as lovable if he made these type of comments on Cheers? Ratzenberger seriously doesn't understand the concept of making intelligent comments.
Fans just love it when actors go around making bigoted comments that translate to "I don't care about any of you, your health, or your family's health and finances because I'm a greedy jerk who puts his own wallet ahead of his humanity.".
Yes, its a long translation...but that's what they're saying whenever they speak. Ratzenberger joins the long list of conservative celebrities who decided to go public and ruin our memories. This includes Bo Derek, Fred Savage, and Chuck "advises others to be responsible, but didn't pay his child support" Norris.

From what I can see...the teabaggers and the Repugs have no concept the difference between socialism and communism. The continue to preach the failures of social programs and call them socialism failures.....In my mind the rape that occurs each time a congressman retires is a communist program...they have a program that the rest of us only dream of and refuse to pass it on to the "little undeserving people" (that would be the American people)

They don't know the difference between those terms and Nazi or fascist, liberal, progressive, or the distinction betweeen communisim, lower case "c" and Communism, capital "C". The level of education among teabaggers and Republicans is about that of kindergarten and first grade, but given that they are adults, they are extremely severely retarded.

And socialism is a philosophy of failure."
Ho hum! So is capitalism. In fact, typical of right wingers, they turn things around backward accusing socialism of failure when we had a very vivid demonstration of the failure of capitalism last year.

The idea for America came from the French.
Yet again I am compelled to summon forth the spirit of Thomas Jefferson to kick this moron squarely in the balls, and the spirit of Benjamin Franklin to point and laugh.

Ratzenberger had a program on TV called Made in America where he went around in his RV highlighting people and factories making quality products in the U.S. It was pretty lame because all the good American jobs have been sent to China by people he supports!

The level of ignorance displayed by these people never ceases to amaze me. Most of us, and probably even good old Cliff himself, learned exactly where democracy came from, and it sure as hell wasn't America. I guess when you've got nothing else, you might as well start making shit up.

Oh Cliff, Cliff, Cliff, Cliff... we hardly knew you! Who knew that your on-screen persona was as ignorant as you appear to be in real life! Well you're dead to me now buddy boy... your 'brand' is dead. I'll never be able to look at you again without seeing the teabagger attitude. I can only hope that your involvement with groups like this convinces others to boycott your services and products too. I'll neverr buy something with you appearing in it again.
