What speculation? Your two links both go to the same columnist and he only speculates whether a supporter of Senator Clinton had ab ulterior motive for organizing the Wright event. That doesn't automatically mean that SEnator Clinton was involved.
Here in Kansas, Obama supporters rigged the February 5 caucuses to suppress the vote, disenfranchising most Kansas Democrats. I would never try to connect Obama himself to what shpporters were trying to do.
But I don't hate Obama. You clearly hate Hillary and will distort anything you have to distort to trash Hillary.

Please what is wrong with feeling strongly for your candidate? YOU obviously feel strongly FOR Hillary, so why can't we feel strongly FOR Obama. For that matter what is wrong with feeling strongly about how we dislike the tactics from the Clinton campaign?
I usually don't like to generalize, but I can't for the life of me understand why so many of the Hillary supporters who come here to Americablog HATE on those of us of a different opinion?

Well, it would be nice if people learned to attack ideas not people, regardless of if it's Hillary, Obama, or McCain. It is just sad that politics comes down to attack ads instead of debating policies, and as long as it stays that way there will be little compromise and little accomplished. One of Hillary's strengths is that she works with republicans. McCain has worked with democrats on numerous pieces of legislation. Obama has voted a straight party line, which is at odds with his rhetoric of change.

i wandered over to LeftCoaster to see what Hillaryland is thinking today. they point to Corrente piece accusing Obama of racism...or more exactly of suggesting that Hillary's campaign is racist... i couldn't resist a response:
lemme see, when Clinton staff people just happen to remind voters a few days before each primary that Obama happens to be black, that's not racist. when Hillary's team gets Wright on center stage to keep thefears about the black church and the ANGRY BLACK MAN alive, that's not racism. mmmmmm. ok. considering the fact that Hillary has promised to obliteate the citizens of Iran at will, and considering the fact that she says more positive things about McCain than about Obama, and considering the fact that every Republican from Rush to Newt is promoting Hillary, maybe it's not racist after all.
maybe it's just republican.

I wish John would just get rid of that feature. It shows nothing other than anyone for any reason can go in and smack the hell out of the buttons. NY Daily News is your source? And the LA Times has been trashed by people in this blog before too. I mean, c'mon, it's a bit ridiculous to blame everything that goes wrong for Obama on Clinton.
And as for attacking the points, Obama supporters on the blog have been doing it as well. I try to be very even handed and yet, because I say things that aren't critical of Hillary, my points go down. There are some serious haters here who can't stand to hear anything negative about Obama or anything positive about Clinton.
And so, divided, we will allow McCain to be elected and to continue Bush's policies. Hooray for us.

Mike_H

Indeed, Polly_Tics, that is what we should do, fight against McCain. And I don't mind *real substantive* criticism of either candidate. But this thread is nothing but a smear -- total speculation based on an opinion piece in a newspaper article. We shouldn't be doing THAT to either of our candidates.
And it's been rather dismaying to watch my points continually go down when I work very hard not to be mean or vicious or insult the intelligence of anyone. I do post when I think people are being unfair or holding one candidate to one standard but not treating the other candidate the same way. But it was mentioned in this thread by someone other than me that "Hilllbots attack the points" -- so, to be fair, I pointed out that it's not just Clinton supporters attacking points unfairly.
Again, is the double standard and hypocrisy shown by SOME (not all) that bothers me, because that's not the way to unify us nor is it the path to victory.
And I still believe that no matter who the Dem candidate is, we need to solidify behind them. But that means that the anti-Clinton bias is just as dangerous to our party as an anti-Obama one.
There is still a very real chance Clinton will be our nominee, in fact the last few days have actually increased her chances, since Rev. Wright -- for his OWN motives, mind you -- has really wounded Obama. Maybe not irrevocably, but Obama's negatives are increasing as a result. It's not fair, but it is reality.

Polly_Tics, if you dig deeper, you'll find that the Hillary supporter who got Wright on the Press Club actually had tried to get him on before, in 2006, long before Obama was even in the race. And she also got him to speak at a different Press Club event in 2007, well before Obama was the front runner and no one realized Rev. Wright would be an issue.
In short, the woman in question had a history of thinking Rev. Wright would be an interesting speaker for the Press Club well before he became a known liability to Obama's campaign, and since he is actually newsworthy lately, it was logical to invite him again.
It's not quite as sinister if you learn the full history.

If the democrats want to win they better start saying why people should vote FOR them, instead of trying to run AGAINST Bush. This whole strategy of tying McCain to Bush is stupid, Bush is not on the ballot and people won't fall for the silly "McSame" stuff.
fl79tr

Thats so true Bulldog909 we shouldn't point out the McSame issue...
That totally didn't work for Bush when he ran against Clinton in 2000 and beat Gore. It especially won't work this time because McCain is essentially running on a plat form that is barely distinguishable from Bush, and has tied himself to Bush. Republicans would like nothing better than for Americans to stop thinking about the deplorable situation we've been put in because of Bush, and for us to give them a clean slate to redefine themselves as "mavericks" what a joke!

No, Bush=McCain and yes that is the issue. 4 more years of bush if McCain is elected, what don't you get for something being relevant?

That is the issue for Bush haters. If you want to win, you need independents and soft republicans. If McCain offers ideas and democrats offer 'no more Bush', McCain is the next president. McCain has cultivated a maverick reputation for too long for a 'McSame' campaign to work.

There are 2 choices - set the agenda, frame the debate in your terms on your issues, or let your opponent do it. I am convinced that Dean plans on running an anti-Bush, anti-war campaign, and as a result the dems will lose. His latest ad, with a video of McCain answering a question that they edit to alter the answer is a classic mistake. The truth will come out, and it will look like a dirty trick, which the American people hate. If McCain talks of cutting taxes for the middle class, cutting gas taxes, giving rebates for health care, etc., and the dems say "we're not Bush, vote for us" , McCain is the next president.

Why the New Reporters don't tell the people the truth? The truth is that the superdelegates did not do the job in which they are appointed to do. Senator Barack Obama shouldn't be going through these things with Senator Hillary Clinton. If the superdelegates right now don't stop the games playing. They haven't seen nothing yet. This will completely destroy the voting process from generation to generation. Think outside of the box.
