SO SO SO awesome!!!!! This couldn't have played out any better. Well, I was betting on Wed by noon EST but I'll pay up on that bet.

I mean we could NOT have prayed for a better (for us) leader of the GOP than Limbaugh. Well, MAYBE Hannity, but this is a beauteous thing to behold.

    Steele has to go...
  • tlsintx · 9 months ago
OMG. wow Michael Steele. what a man.
  • sukabi · 9 months ago
well, that was 2.5 days sooner than I thought it would be.... guess the Repub party is still rthe party of wealthy, stupid & white.
  • curlytoes79 · 9 months ago
Steele knows who his daddy is. (Or at least, he knows who's going to mercilessly ream him on the radio if Steele steps out of line.)

    This is great.
  • sukabi · 9 months ago
Steele's learned the hard way that in the Repub party, it's once a token, ALWAYS a token.

  • nicho · 9 months ago
Stop, please. Please. My sides hurt. Please stop. I can't take it any more. The nominal party head is a coward. The real party head is a drug-addicted radio buffoon. The two brightest lights in the party are a semi-literate witch hunter from Alaska and a do-it-yourself exorcist from Louisiana who can't even read a canned speech from a teleprompter. The best thing you can say about him is that he's almost as funny as Kenneth the Page. The last presidential candidate is wandering around DC in his Depends yelling at pigeons. And they haven't had an original idea in about 50 years.

    Seriously, this is sitcom material.

Hey, Michael, when you finish kissing his butt, check how his anal cyst is doing.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 9 months ago
you forgot about the tax-evading, wife-beating, non-plumber manly-man plumber who is now the GOP's investigative reporter.

    :-)
  • nicho · 9 months ago
    You forgot "functionally illiterate."
  • cowboyneok · 9 months ago
Republicans have their nose up his butt to keep his anal cyst from leaking.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 9 months ago
    umm... eww?
  • cowboyneok · 9 months ago
you have to admit its gross, but funny (and probably true)
  • RainbowPhoenix · 9 months ago
Why did you have to spoil the mood with that image?
  • cowboyneok · 9 months ago
Because I want that image burned into everyone's minds and associated with ALL Rush loving Republicans! ;)
  • Sage24 · 9 months ago
Isn't it obvious? Mr. Oxycotin is the leader and spokesperson for the GOP.
Everyone in the party is afraid of him, and bow down to him as if he were
King. Top leaders in the party feel they have to apologize to the mighty
idiot, when they are told they have stepped over the line. When dear Rush
says jump, the rethugs asks eagerly "how High"?

Coulter, Limbaugh, Hannity, Gingrich....leaders of the GOP. How nice!
  • Steve_in_CNJ · 9 months ago
Democrats have also been utterly petrified of this man. I'm reminded of those spy thrillers where the good guys can only win by turning the bad guys against each other. And there are other fights going on: Brooks vs. Jindal or Noonan vs. Palin, to name just 2. This is all good news for the good guys.
  • Janet · 9 months ago
Steele' actual quote was, "I's a sorry massah! Please don't whip me!"
  • Older_Wiser · 9 months ago
Like I said before, Steele is being treated as just another field hand. BTW, found this over at HuffPo where Sam Stein commented on it, from the Limpball's speech at CPAC:

"We believe that the preamble to the Constitution contains an inarguable truth that we are all endowed by our creator with certain inalienable rights, among them life. [Applause] Liberty, Freedom. [Applause] And the pursuit of happiness. [Applause] Those of you watching at home may wonder why this is being applauded. We conservatives think all three are under assault. [Applause] Thank you. Thank you."

So, yes, if the Rethugs want another ignorant, racist, fascist for their "head", go for it. Pass the popcorn, again, please.
  • cowboyneok · 9 months ago
I wish I was a Republican. I could break laws, start wars based on lies, ignore any kind of subpoena and say all kinds of nasty stuff and then just say, "Well, I didn't mean it..." "You misunderstood what I did or said," or "You've taken my words or actions 'out of context'" and then everything will be forgiven and forgotten! Wouldn't it be great to never be responsible for anything?
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 9 months ago
    you forgot "Nobody could've predicted..."

    LMFAO
    This is GREAT entertainment !!
  • lucky hussein · 9 months ago
repubs and steele are done imo, now on the next stage:
    1. challenge consistantly, constantly, publicly, all reich-wing garbage. reach out to these people, all the time.
    2. start working for progressive change in the democratic party.
  • tlsintx · 9 months ago
    Steele just got bitch slapped.
  • nicho · 9 months ago
At least Steele didn't mention Rush's alleged predilection for male hustlers, while he was doing junk radio shows posing as Jeff Christie.

  • cowboyneok · 9 months ago
Well, Trent Lott was on Hardball and just proved our point Republicans want our nation to fail. Matthews is finally acting all tough and progressive with Republicans, since it is finally in his best interest, and chided Lott by saying he had NOTHING to brag about because Republicans gave us the FAILURE we are now experiencing. Then Matthews completed his rant with, "All due respect, Sir." Lott was talking about how he is hoping our nation gets slammed by Obama's desperate attempts to save us from the direction and ditch we've been drive into by Republicans. Republicans are excited people are losing their asses in the stock market.

cowboyneck is not informed obliusly dosent licten to fox news
  • cowboyneok · 9 months ago
Its "cowboyneok" - stands for "cowboy" (North Eastern Oklahoma) - even though I'm a far cry from your standard "Oklahoma cowboy" when I travel, especially overseas, everyone asks if I'm where "Garth Brooks is from because of your cowboy accent!" I have to admit, Yes, indeed, I am!"

"obliusy dosent licten" Okay, you are either:

    A. Making fun of Republicans inability to spell
    B. Drunk
    C. Got your fingers off the home row of your keyboard
    D. All of the above
  • yourworstnightmare · 9 months ago
    i think your gay cowboy
  • cowboyneok · 9 months ago
and, after reading your other posts, you are now blocked! Enjoy. Yea, I'm gay... So what?

Make that, being called "gay" from an ignorant Republican like you is a compliment. Yea, I'm PROUDLY gay so calling me gay is just, well, obvious and stupid but we already know you are obviously stupid.
  • HelenaMontana · 9 months ago
Almost makes me feel better about Harry Reid.
  • cowboyneok · 9 months ago
Yea, me too... almost... not quite... but almost...
  • HelenaMontana · 9 months ago
Nothing can really erase the pain in the arse that is H. Reid.
  • cowboyneok · 9 months ago
Another laugh! Piyush "Bobby" Jindal just came clean about his name. He "named himself" from "Bobby" on the "Brady Bunch" because he used to watch "The Brady Bunch" after school every day. bwahahaahaaa!

This was on Chris Matthews' "Hardball" and Matthews talked about how he "liked what Jindal did" because I guess it showed some sort of attempt at assimilation. Of course, if Barack Obama had gone by his nickname "Barry" every Republican would SCREAM he was "trying to run away from his heritage." Such double standards...
  • tbhull · 9 months ago
This is so contrived. These two clowns are ham and eggin' for repub headlines.
  • tlsintx · 9 months ago
    where's the payoff in that?

i think they really hate each other.
  • tbhull · 9 months ago
The repubs need headlines. While a contrived feud between two that cannot win office is not entirely positive, it does keep this currently meaningless party in the headlines while they get nothing in Congress.
  • Rab · 9 months ago
It's great, Steele says what everyones scared to say for the repugs and gets shot down. Nazis of a feather have to stay in line together.
  • cowboyneok · 9 months ago
    Re: Harry Reid

Question: "Why can't we have a tough woman, like Senator Barbara Boxer, who is not afraid to take down Republicans, and who represents a huge state, California, as majority leader?"
  • Abel Tsegga · 9 months ago
The Borgen Project has some good info on the cost of addressing global poverty.

    $550 billion: U.S. Defense budget

i couldn't resist going over to freerepublic. literally zero support for steele in the comments. in fact they are (wait for it) threatening to stop contributing to the RNC:

"I still have a mailer from the RNC asking for my donation. I sat on it until I got more information about Steele as chairman. I got my answer, and the donation mailer is going in the trash bin. I’m saving my donations for specific candidates."

so awkward for you that mussolini isn't running. lol.

Chris Matthews just lied on-air about this issue. He was defending Rush and said that the "traveling salesman" who listens to Rush agrees and doesn't want his taxes raised. Yet what traveling salesman on planet Earth makes more than $250K/year? Matthews is out of his mind.
  • Gridlock · 9 months ago
Guys, was that even 24 hours before Steele crawled back to Limbpalls in supplication? I think it was less! IHe didn't even make a full day, did he?

Holy shit, that's gotta be a new record, played right into Obama's and Rahms' hands.
  • RitornaVincitor · 9 months ago
It's great. None of them dare stand up to Rush. It's his party, alright.
  • cmpnwtr · 9 months ago
Gotta love it. The GOP worships at the throne of the drug addict who goes on sex vacations to third world countries.

  • DeppFan · 9 months ago
He is the pilonidal cyst on the ass of what's left of the republican party.
  • RitornaVincitor · 9 months ago
Limbaugh said: “I'm not in charge of the Republican Party, and I don't want to be. I would be embarrassed to say that I'm in charge of the Republican Party in the sad-sack state that it's in. If I were chairman of the Republican Party, given the state that it's in, I would quit. I might get out the hari-kari knife because I would have presided over a failure that is embarrassing to the Republicans and conservatives who have supported it and invested in it all these years.”

Butcha ahh, Rush, ya ahh in charge of the Republican Party. It's failure is your failure, ya big dope! Oh, and it's "harakiri" not "hari-kari".
  • Milli · 9 months ago

  • Milli · 9 months ago
As offensive as Rush calling Chelsea Clinton a dog when she was 12 years old? Yes, lets respect the asshole drug-addict who picks on little girls.
  • sparrow · 9 months ago
Well, that didn't take long for Steele to put a hickey on Rush's backside now did it? It 's got to be an awfully sinking feeling for Republicans who identify themselves in any way as moderate, i.e. sane, to see the writing on the wall and the demise of their party's future as the wacko conservative shock troops muscle them out completely elevating this asshole Rush.as the standard bearer.

Suffice it to say that one comment from the President to Congressional Republicans ("You should stop listening to Rush.") on the day Barack Obama went to Capital Hill to talk to only Republicans about the now-passed stimulus bill, was enough to ignite a Republican civil war. That comment led to Rush's now infamous,"I hope Obama fails" line that split the GOP asunder. Now we have the spectacle of Eric Cantor, the Nancy- Polosi-is-mean-and-she-hurt-our-feelings-so-we-won’t-vote-for-TARP (back in September when John McCain was busy losing the general election.) Congressman form Virginia supporting the Obama administration in hoping the stimulus works.

Now let’s see if this picture works out. On one hand we have the king of the right wing hoping for failure of the new guys in office after doing so much to guarantee the failure of the old administration in the Dubya years with his doctrinaire “screw the markets” outlook and out-to-lunch commentary that was eagerly gobbled by everyone too lazy to think for themselves. And, on the other hand, we have former Rush acolyte Eric Cantor saying he wants the the new administration’s stimulus plan to work. Sounds like a plan, doesn’t it?

Perhaps this is the type of "bi-partisanship" that the President was working toward. Let’s have a nod toward Rahm with his reinforcing knife in the ribs comment on Sunday morning talking-head TV.

Meanwhile, it looks as if the Republicans are up to their old tricks; they don't realize-yet- that they've been had.( Just like in days of Geo W.) And Rush doesn't realize- yet- that his best days are now in the past. His influence is waning. His audience is more afraid of reality than eager to support his fantasy of a “principled” conservative movement that has the best interests of the country as its only motivation.

All I can say is. “Please, please, please, pretty please keep underestimating the political skills of Barack Obama.”
