John...how much does that sawed -off little hack make,to LIE HIS LITTLE ASS OFF
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
stephanopoulos is still clearly joined at the hip to the clintons to have done this.

it is pure right-wing bullshit and indicates the increasing desperation felt by all opponents of Obama (ie: clinton and the GOPers)

the MEDIA INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX is so secure in its power, their biggest POWER BROKER said thi yesterday on the teeebeee

Mr Immelt might have thought that after a few tense conversations with analysts and shareholders, he could move on. He might have thought that until he switched on his television yesterday to see his formidable predecessor, Jack Welch, threaten to “get a gun out and shoot” Mr Immelt if he failed to achieve new targets.

So angry was Mr Welch, who retired in 2001, at his successor’s failure and the 13 per cent fall in GE stock, that he said: “I would be shocked beyond belief and I would get a gun out and shoot him if he does not make what he promised. Deliver the earnings. Tell them you are going to grow 12 per cent and deliver 12 per cent.”

    Zogby: Dead Heat In Pennsylvania
    Clinton 45%, Obama 44%.
The internals show Obama winning Philadelphia and the overall eastern region of the state, which if it pans out would guarantee a close delegate margin for the primary as a whole.

One word of caution: Zogby's record this cycle has had some notable misfires

Here is what I think about the debate last night. One-John McCain said he was afraid of running against Obama and thought he could beat Clinton easily. ABC, Disney backed Bush and McCain. They wanted to make Hillary look good believing it would benefit their preferrence for the presidency...John McCain.

Will Georgie ever admit to using Hannity's question? Will ABC do anything about this travesty? NO, to both questions.

BTW, why was Georgie one of the moderators? Everyone knows of his connection to the Clintons. He tried to look tough when asking Hillary a question but we all know she already knew all the questions ala Georgie.

    from Kos

Who loves America? Jeremiah Wright loved it enough that while Dick Cheney was getting his string of five deferments, Wright voluntarily gave up his student deferment, left college and joined the United States Marine Corps. Wright was valedictorian of his class in Corpsman School. When asked about the sacrifices he'd made, Wright said he was inspired by the words of John Kennedy that he should "ask what he could do for his country.

You'd think we would have heard the announcement of the huge Fox-ABC media merger.

Maybe this was just their way of surprising us with the good news.
  • ldlew · 1 year ago
I think it was obvious why he was a moderator (?). They used him to promote Hillary. You have to always remember that this is being waged as a war itself. Tactically ABC did exactly what they wanted to do..promote Hillary for McCains' benefit. I personally think it will back fire on them. I really believe Clinton was given the questions. Point of interest was her answer about Iran, her ranting was pro-war and against the Constitution. This would explain her vote on the Iraq war.....She wants to have the same authority that George Bush has claimed...King.

In regards to this, Yahoo, in their In the News section has this headline--"Obama refuses to answer questions about ties to radical activist"

Excuse me, but that is not what happened, he did answer and quite appropriately.

So I am wondering about Yahoo news. Who controls it, who decides what to print. I had never really clicked on the local part of that tab, today I did, I guess I got the answer about Yahoo News, the articles cited were from the Rocky Mountian Times, a notoriously rabid right wing newspaper. That tells me all I need to know about Yahoo News.

So it begs the question, what the hell is the November election going to look like. There is George getting questions from Shawn Hannity ( a true dumb ass) and pretending it is a real debate. The press doesn't want Obama, they are afraid of him, the right wing is afraid of him.

Here in DC, the Pope (Maledict) is having a mass down in the new baseball stadium, and the music they're playing for him is so atrocious that even I am beginning to feel sorry for the Pope that he has to listen to that crap.
I saw a sign by the Dupont Circle subway entrance that said "Smoke Dope Waste the Pope" and it made me glad to see SOME sign that everyone is not drooling over this Pope. I know not one single person, Catholic or otherwise, who agrees with Pope Maledict's positions on any important social issue, and yet the US mainstream media is positively wetting their pants over him.

  • sittenpretty · 1 year ago
    Hunter at Kos...wow

After the first forty minutes of last night's Democratic debate, it was clear we were watching something historic. Not historic in a good way, mind you, but historic in the sense of being something so deeply embarrassing to the nation that it will be pointed to, in future books and documentary works, as a prime example of the collapse of the American media into utter and complete substanceless, into self-celebrated vapidity, and into a now-complete inability or unwillingness to cover the most important affairs of the nation to any but the most shallow of depths.

if ABC has one ounce of integrity, they'll ditch Stephanopoulos.

asking 'debate questions' propounded verbatim by Sean Hannity????
    come. on.
  • Rob Mule · 1 year ago
    Stephie needs to resign, now!
This Week is worthless under his hostship and last evening's Hannity impression was the rotted cherry atop a nasty personal sundae.
The ABC executive producer and producer of this debate should also resign.
$10 mil Charlie can stay with the sinking analog evening nooz format.
Betcha Stephie snaps up a lucrative lobby job seconds after his humiliating resignation...

This so called debate was so embarassing I turned it off after 30 minutes. Now it is the Pope all the Time. I will be glad when this is all over. I'm hoping for a big Obama showing in PA and wins in NC and Indiana.

Other then being a stenographer for the rightwing smear machine, the only issue neocon hack Charlie Gibson cared about was whether an Obama Administration was going to raise his capital gains tax.
  • interlude · 1 year ago
i think Gibson and Stephanomalous were so entranced with their actually being debate anchors that it didn't matter what they asked...they were all gussied up, powdered, and coiffed. that was what mattered. they were posing the whole night.
(isn't that what being a TV news celeb means these days?)

this is why i stay away from what they call news on the Telescreen.

It really is a new age and most of these people don't get it. I mean, with all the technology available to "catch" them in this behavior, this action by Stephanopoulos just seems incredibly clumsy, doesn't it?

It's like when Bill O'Reilly gets astonished that people call him out on things he actually said, and he denies it even when confronted with the actual audio or video of his own words.
  • SteamingPile · 1 year ago
I told ya. If Fox News can't get a direct crack at the Dem candidates, they'll find a proxy to get at them.
  • Richardini · 1 year ago
What a crumb that Stephanopoulos has turned out to be! I can understand Hannity's stupidity because he is superstupid and all that he says is stupid. However, Stephanopoulo is intelligent but he really appealed to the audience at Fox News, the Propaganda Ministry with the question about Bill Ayers. So, what? Bill Ayers is now a well respected college professor but his past with the Weathermen is now to be used against Obama? Really, how low can you stoop? I have watched Obama be attacked from all sides by the arch bigots of the media and he has fended them off very skillfully. I just finished reading the story of his mother's life and his father's as well. He comes from wonderful stock and that explains why he is such an inspired speaker. Listening to McCain or Hilary is like listening to the same boring blabla we have heard a million times. If we lose him, we will lose a lot more than a good speaker, we will lose the chance to turn America around. I come from Pennsylvania and while I don't have too much hope for Obama's winning, I would like my people to surprise me and show me that they are not the same bigoted, racist, anti everybody except themselves that I knew as a child growing up. Hilary has become a caricature of a harridan, a female attack dog, desperate to have eight more Clinton years in the White House. You can't go home again. It's time for a new tenant.
