    Dear George,
Please ask Senator Clinton this question:

"Do you think Pastor John Hagee will bring down the candidacy of John McCain, in light of the Pastor's extreme views as evidenced in this video?"

Hummm...A well scheduled "town hall meeting" held specifically to coincide with a former employee's teevee show doesn't sound like a bona fide news event and therefore, under the still extant but rarely enforced Equal Time Provisions of the Federal Code should not happen unless equal time is extended to the other official candidate.
Will Disney afford the Obama campaign equal time prior to the Indiana and NC primaries?

There may be reason to be upset here.
But before we go there, maybe we should ask if the Obama campaign was offered the same thing?
I'm an Obama supporter, but this knee-jerk going to the worst place everytime is really worrisome - let's get the facts first, OK?

Sullivan: Obama remains a game-changer. Hence the resistance from the neocon right, whose interest is in keeping the game as it is. But the interests of the neoconservatives are not necessarily the best interests of the United States. As we have ruefully discovered.

WTF?!!? Deborah Jeane Palfry commits suicide or is "suicided" and the media is still talking about the Reverend Wright "controversy?" WTF?!!? Ya gotta be kilddng me. I guess the Corporate Propaganda Media is desperate for the DC Madam suicide story to just go away, so they will casually mention it and then immediately go to "more about the earth shaking Reverend Wright controversy." What a bunch of schlock!

One of the first things a Dem adminstration/Congress should do is put a ten year ban on this fucking TV news/former WH aide/TV news anchor shit to stop.

``I know the secret of making the average American believe anything I want him to. Just let me control television.... You put something on the television and it becomes reality. If the world outside the TV set contradicts the images, people start trying to change the world to make it like the TV set images....''

Imagine this scenario. Democrats claim they are the "family values" party then a bunch of them get caught up in a prostitution scandal. There is controversy over their being called to testify THEN the Madam kills herself. What, pray tell, do you think the media will do? Can't you just see the BREATHLESS 24/7 coverage from outside the storage shed where the Madam killed herself or "suicided?" Of course, all sorts of hypotheticals would be asked by the media with the rationalization, "Well, it could have happened this or that way, and people have the right to know all the different angles!"

WHERE is the Corporate Propaganda Media? They need to be CAMPED OUT in Tarpon Springs FLORIDA right now, or its gonna be just another example of how they shovel propaganda against anyone who doesn't tow the Corporate Propaganda line.

This is absolutely outrageous. First Stephanopoulos gives us that GD phony debate and now this. How much more blatant can ABC be? This is my election, this is your election THIS IS NOT ABC's election, although one might get the impression that corporate America thinks they can insert themselves into the election process to assure their choice succeeds. Ever since the Fairness Act disappeared we have had nothing but corporate involvement in our politics. THIS NEEDS TO STOP/

As far as Stephanopoulos, he is nothing more than a partisan hack pretending to be a serious commentator. This short little man will always be remembered for his "great debate" in which he asked "Does your pastor love Amercia?"
What has he been promised? How much did he sell himself for?

And Clinton, I will never, ever respect her. It is truly pathetic to want something as much as Clinton wants this nomination, pathetic that she has had to rip apart the Democratic party, pathetic that she has trashed her opponent in such a vile manner and just generally pathetic. I have despised George W. Bush, now the worst rated president in the history of the USA, and I now give HIllary the same distinction, a whore who will sell her own soul to achieve her goals.

I thought Stephanapoulos quit the White House after that poor Clinton woman bad mouthed him so much he had a nervous breakdown. I guess I was wrong about that. Rumors! How do they get started?

Rev. Jeremiah Wright made Rev. Jeremiah Wrigth an issue, not Clinton or Stephanopoulos. We are getting to know Obama better in this campaign, and it can't be understood all from his Autobiography and his Stump speech. Obama said that wright was his mentor and spiritual advisor for the last 20 years. From Wright, we understand Obama's weltanschauung and how he would act in the future. Wright knows his better than anyone, except , maybe, Michelle. When he says that Obama says things that Obama doesn't beleive just because he is a typical politician, it is fair to take notice and ask questions.

I love Jeremiah Wright. He is a real fighter. A lot of what he says is true. I thought, sitting on the beach at cherry grove 27 years ago, that the government started aids. Wright is a real Democrat. Part of our coalition. I love him. I wish he would run for Congress. There is someone who tells us what he is thinking and I don't believe his is hiding anything.

    Nigel

Think this is going to make headlines? Of course not, the media is too busy pushing Wright. This lawsuit is major and yet very few people know about it, too bad, it is another dishonest Clinton fiasco.

WHY oh why isn't the rest of our press corps saying something is fishy here?

What has happened to the cajones to our media? Have they been bought and paid for by Bush Co with the ever growing tentacles of the corporate ownership of America?
  • OneManComotion · 1 year ago
I'm going to let you cover this guy from now on. I am done with him. As "Newshounds.com" uses as a byline, "we watch Fox News so you don't have to", your byline for me can now be, "We watch Stephanolous so you don't have to".

    Thank you so very much.

Speaking of elections, here's a new CREW site on the FEC:

They do great work! There's a link to a story about Obama's suit against Clinton's 527 at the bottom.

When are we going to flood ABC and the other news outlets and news papers with questions about the biggest fraud trail in American history along with secert tapes and letters, the PETER PAUL trail, and guess who caught in the middle, right!! Bill and Hillary, this story need to be out there.
  • naschkatzehussein · 1 year ago
It seems to me that there might be some legal issues here. Does anyone know? Conflict of interest? Free air time for one candidate and not for the other? FEC, FCC rules? Should be treated as in kind donation?
  • johnt66 · 1 year ago
I have been e-mailing countdown and the daily show about the PETER PAUL fraud trial, no one seem to want to listen, so please help me out here e-mail the daily show and coundown and ask them to atleast research and give a comment.

If you want people to get involved with the Peter Paul controversy, you will need to post some sorts of LINKS to verify what you are talking about.

The revolving door in DC continues to spin, including TV and print media. WTF are people like Rove, Stephanopoulos, etc. being hired for those jobs anyway (rhetorical question, I guess). And will someone fire that awful Andrea Mitchell? She's about as "objective" as the others.

I've just about given up on TV "news" and hate to even watch it anymore.

Every time I ask you this, you disappear; but please stay a minute and tell me what has turned your Republican leanings into sorta kinda positive feelings for Obama.

    Am I mistaken?
  • Upland_Oddball · 1 year ago
I don't think that Georgie is primarily motivated by loyalty to the Clintons, or by expectation of reward or access if Hillary should seize the nomination and become President. I think that his primary goal is to help McCain and the GOP holld onto power. Georgie has calculated that McCain has a better chance against Hillary than Barack, and that is why he has clearly moved toward helping Hillary at this point. Once the nomination is secured, we all had better expect that he will turn on a dime and start atttacking the Clintons, dredging up Monica, Marc Rich, etc. Like Brian Williams worshipping at the feet of Peggy Noonan while she functions in full hack mode, or Mark Halprin rocking to whatever obscene tune Matt Drudge sings, Georgie's world is ruled by McCain and the whole GOP bubble culture.
  • mirth · 1 year ago
Among those who swept with the Clintons into gov't and/or public life, is there anyone of honor and good character?

I think the answer is No, but maybe I'm overlooking someone.

Obama is as good or better than the other two because he has "presence" and intellect. His relationship with Wright is scary as hell; but he may get that behind him.

  • Busboy · 1 year ago
There's not much reasoning, Polly (surprise, surprise!). It's like my old stockbroker used to explain about how to tell when the bull market is over: He said; if you listen carefully, you'll hear someone ring a bell. If you don't hear the bell? .... then you're screwed! Actually, I think Obama has a better than even chance of still being the nominee. And, that bodes well for the country.
