AMERICAblog: Stephanopoulos: Top Official Says House Has Enough Votes to Pass Bailout Bill

  • marblex · 1 year ago
Well, folks, say goodbye to the dollar. Hope you've got lots because we will all be lining up with barrels full just to buy groceries. This blatant pork-filled giveaway to Wall street not only WONT solve the current economic crisis, but will exacerbate it by hyperinflating the dollar, rendering it worthless.

Local communities will have to rely on barter and other mediums of exchange. Riots and chaos will ensue. But don't worry, the Third Army is here to protect us. http://www.armytimes.com/news/2008/09/army_home...

Elections probably will be canceled, but if not never fear, the Princess of Mooseturd will be quickly coronated after the old fart dies of metastatic melanoma shortly after his inauguration, following the fourth stolen national election brought to you by Diebold...McCain 51.2 % popular vote and by 3 electoral votes.

    Military lockdown to follow.

In case you didn't notice, Marblex, the Euro is tanking like a whore on crack. The USA is still the place to be during hard times because the europeans have a nasty tendency to start practicing genocide during economic disruptions....
  • marblex · 1 year ago
Hope everyone is OK with the USA to surrendering its sovereignty because of this manufactured economic crisis.

They want to wait until the markets close so they don't have a repeat of "-777 Monday" in case it falls through again.

The House Republicans and their administration made this mess; it's nice they decided to assume 35% of the responsibility for the clean up. /snark

I'm so sick of hearing people bitch. If you hate where you live so much, get the hell out. If you don't like your neighbors here in the south, go back up north where you came from. Just shut up and stop complaining about EVERYTHING. The bill sucks, get over it, not going to stop it from passing. We will survive, geez. In a month, vote the bastards out of office, that's about all we can do.
  • An_American_Karol · 1 year ago
John, who said anything about the South?
  • JohnInTexas · 1 year ago
Nobody, I just keep remembering BostonQueerindallas comments and a few others who live down here and seem to have nothing good to say (other than there are jobs here, a good standard of living, a good economy, great weather, affordable housing, etc.) I'm just a native Texan and a Democrat and a gay man, and I think I am lucky to live where I do, and get tired of hearing people diss it, and tired of hearing in general. Sorry, guess I went off on a tangent, must have been that debate last night, I just want to spit out a lot of words, doesn't matter if they make any sense...you know what I mean? LOL

Hey I just picked Dallas in the pool for this week--feel better! :)
  • JohnInTexas · 1 year ago
LOL...if you could see that eyesore of a stadium being built here...ugh. Driving businesses out of Arlington because the property taxes have gone through the roof, not to mention the view is awful, you can see it from miles. All I can say is the Cowboys better get everybody out of rehab and off parole by the time they have to play there, and do well or they will piss a lot of people off.

Oh goody! Now, will the $700 billion dollar bailout (plus the additional $150 billion in republican pork) buy us the whole iceberg or just the tip?

The republicans should be under arrest for treason for what they have done to our Nation and our economy. A guillotine on each and every county courthouse lawn would be a damn fine start.

Finally, the cheap children's wooden toy arrows and Puerto Rican rum America needs.

And there's even pork for NASCAR of all things. For people that only drive around in circles. CIRCLES!

Thank gawd we could save them from having to start doing something useful.

Is there really a "toy" arrow?

It passed. I hope John and Robert and Chris and the whole gang at Americablog are happy now. I don't think you ever did really explain how it's supposed to ease the credit crisis. And the market dropped 300 points after it passed, just like it did after the bill passed the Senate. I don't know why you couldn't see through the scare tactics-- what ever happened with that story about Bank of America shutting down its credit cards?-- but that, and the fact it came out of the Bush White House, and worst of all it was exactly the same kind of rush job that landed us in Iraq, all indicated something was extremely fishy about this whole business. I don't get you guys. I hope it turns out ok, for the sake of us taxpayers who will now each be billed for $4800 plus interest. But you'd have done a lot better to not advocate the thing the way you did, IMO anyway.
