  • pcvirginiabeach · 1 year ago
Yes! That is what I am talkiing about! You better walk the walk, if you talk the talk!
  • gsthomas606 · 1 year ago
To be fair to the republicans, where else are they going to meet with lobbyists and trade legislative action for campaign contributions.
  • donotmakemecomedownthere · 1 year ago
    At church?
  • smiling_dog · 1 year ago
    "(blow is cocaine)"
Uh, it is and it is other things too.
  • John Aravosis · 1 year ago
LOL oh that's right. True, when talking about hookers..
  • HereinDC · 1 year ago
Darn, Larry Craig thought it involved the airport bathroom.

and ABC is right leaning...so you KNOW it was bad.
  • IAmATVJunkie · 1 year ago
    Blow is cocaine?

I have to apologize to some people, excuse me just a moment. Gotta go.
  • An_American_Karol · 1 year ago
    LMAO
  • Patriot · 1 year ago
So,... why are so many of them afraid of the camera and answering basic questions about who they were holding court with?

In general, what is left of the republican party that is still dignified? And, these are the morons that were supposed to bring dignity & high moral standards back to the White House!?

    What a ***king sham!
  • AdmNaismith · 1 year ago
'Hookers and Blow' is a great name for a band. Who hired them for a GOP thingie? That was just asking for trouble. hahahahaha

It's like hiring Stephen Colbert for your White House reporters' thingie...
  • moreleesafer · 1 year ago
    baaaaaaaaaaaaad taste, man.

    OT:

i got an e-mail and text from Obama wanting me to give $5.00 to Red Cross.

I'm glad he came out and stated that the families are off limits and the he would fire anyone who participates in mud slinging at the Palin family.

another OT: wtf was Cindy wearing? her stylist needs to be fired! she looked like one of those alien chicks that Captain Kirk boinked on Star Trek. Good Gawd!
  • Sage24 · 1 year ago
The rethuglican spin on Bristol Palin's pregnancy is amusing. They are now saying how wonderful it is, that she has decided to keep the baby etc., not a word on Bristol not using birth control, or having pre marital sex.If Sarah Palin taught her daughter about birth control, we would not be having this discussion.

    Oh how they spin!
  • Teddi · 1 year ago
BTW and OT, Campbell Brown just nailed McCain Spokesperson on Palins credentials...Tucker kept spinning and spinning and
Campbell called him out for not answering the question? How long before the media gets cranky and stops being McCain's buddy???

How fitting Big Oil should serve roast pig...

PS--With today's shortened GOP convention schedule, I'm wondering if the Minneapolis-St Paul area mens rooms were packed late this afternoon?
  • shrrrr · 1 year ago
    OK. Forget the pregnancies....
Focus on this....or, at least look at it.

Extra whoa...or, should I say wow?
I guess leading Alaska out of the Union would add a bit more of an internationalist tang to the main nutty backwoods PTA flavor?
  • An_American_Karol · 1 year ago
Damn, those fundies know how to party - hookers and blow, illegitimate children, BJs in airport bathrooms....wow. Who would have thought.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
Now you know why Repubs are always smiling while dems are gritting their teeth.....
  • An_American_Karol · 1 year ago
    hypocrisy makes em happy?
  • cmccbald · 1 year ago
Wow. ABC story on partying and lobbyists sounds like real journalism.

CNN at about 8:30 P.M (ET) had a woman (Campbell Brown?) interviewing some Republican hack, and she pressed him over and over on Palin's qualifications, especially in terms of foreign policy and the role of Commander in Chief.
  • Mikki --SE Pennsylvania · 1 year ago
I don't normally have any truck with ABC due to the idiocy of Gibson and Stephanopolous but this seems way too juicy to turn down.
  • munjoyfan · 1 year ago
Love it. Cuba suffered some real structural damage. Is any of that fundraising going to help the poor people of the Isle of Youth or Pinar del Rio?
  • lilyannerose · 1 year ago
Ah, GOP, decadence be thy name.
  • scottinsf · 1 year ago
I was waiting for them to break out and start that Macarena dance thing at that bar they showed. Those people are really with it you know.

Great site...the focus group video was very interesting...thanks.
  • Paddy · 1 year ago
A reply I got from the pimp I left at Americablog. Nice to get the compliments.

"...It is perfectly possible to live a very moral life without a belief in God, and I think it's perfectly possible to live a life peppered with ill-doing and believe in God." J.K. Rowling
  • Paddy · 1 year ago
Thank you, we try very hard.
  • GottaLaff · 1 year ago
Thanks! We love doing what we do, and we're demented enough to keep doing it. :)
  • HereinDC · 1 year ago
WOW, he could not name one thing......It's like that time Chris MAtthews caught that guy for 5 minutes and could not say one thing.

    this is damning interview
  • Paddy · 1 year ago
It was the most blatant display of bullshit I've ever seen, and with 2 husbands under my belt, that's saying ALOT.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
Cuba, suffering? Wow, who'd a thunkit? What's next? Cannibalism?
  • dad · 1 year ago
same old say one thing do the opposite, republicans.
  • Sage24 · 1 year ago
The weather guy on MSNBC said that there were two other hurricanes forming over the Atlantic, Hannah and Ivan, and that there is a possibliity that the first one might hit Forida on THURSDAY. The day that McCain is scheduled to give his big speech.....looks like the Floridians might be too busy, to listen to McCain....poor McCain...the weather Gods are also against him.
  • dad · 1 year ago
better than having them focus on perfect storm palin
  • jescot · 1 year ago
John - Im sorry but its clear now that our guy -OBAMA- said this afternoon that family members should be off limits. I have thrown some stones myself today but if you go by the standard of listening to the leader of the party were the revelers no better than we? It was a hurricane after all -not a funeral.
  • John Aravosis · 1 year ago
Um, reporting the news is not the same thing as attending parties with bands called Hookers and Blow. I'm sorry, there's a difference between writing about politics, and getting shit-faced at 2am wearing feather boas.
  • ZennButtKicker (tlhwraith) · 1 year ago
When you put it that way, it sounds way worse than it did initially! I was going to give the RNC a kinda-sorta pass, it is a convention after all, but the way you just phrased it made it sound one step above an orgy on the second floor of the old Studio 54.
  • AngelaChanning · 1 year ago
I think all of the actin is taking place on Craigs List. Woo wee, check out the m4m ads. LOL. More than 400 today!
  • Rob Mule · 1 year ago
    You go Angela!!!
I gave the list a quick peek and found this x-rated convention goer looking for casual gay post marital sex:
Bi MWM professional executive type looking for some fun this week while I'm in Minnesota for RNC.
Looks like a lot of handsome men here for the big show - media, delegates, etc.
So send over your photo and lets make this happen.
I can host in my hotel not far from convention center.
6'2 muscular build hairy body masculine for similar.

Someone tell me how pink feather boas mesh with the fundie-neo con agenda???
    Very Cage aux NeoCon...
  • Mikki --SE Pennsylvania · 1 year ago
I loved the idea of the pink boas. J. Edgar Hoover would have felt quite at home. And poor old Larry Craig, a pink boa would do wonders for his stern butch look, but only if he wore his red f**k-me pumps ( and you know he's got some).
Ah well, what happens in Minneapolis stays in Minneapolis or, uh, well
    Not so much!

Oh yes ot to forget Mr. Vitter perhaps in a smart pink diaper. But no, I'm sure he was down in the city checking out the storm preparations for some of his "special" friends
  • jescot · 1 year ago
What you aren't writing the news getting sh-t faced with hookers and blow while you report the news? O'Reilly just said on his show that's exactly what the 'haters' and exteme leftists' comparable to the KKK do at the Daily Kos.
Ok the hookers and blow thing wasn't said but boy did he ever go off the deep end about Kos and the teenage pregnancy story. He is so off the mark on labeling KOS or other bloggers today as being filled with hate.
  • Mikki --SE Pennsylvania · 1 year ago
Billo-the-Clown is the one filled with hate - all day every day,
and you certainly hit the nail on the head, Billo is always off the mark.
  • dad · 1 year ago
    (on second thought)
  • AngelaChanning · 1 year ago
"Everyone goes through hard times" --Not sure who that was but it was said in a cavalier manner. So imagine if a Democrat said that when Iowa had the flooding and the tornados that ripped through the midwest. Geesh.
  • Mikki --SE Pennsylvania · 1 year ago
I saw that line and I was at once reminded of one of the last lines quoted of Mother Babs Bush re: the refugees (mainly black) in Houston, something to the effect This has been very good for Them! Since then, for some reason, Babs doesn't seem to be available for the press as far as I can tell. She was reported to have been seen waving from an upper window at the Maine compound when Gramps McShame was riding around in a golf cart with Old George.
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
bet they're all getting ripped to drown out the Palin disaster.
  • ZennButtKicker (tlhwraith) · 1 year ago
You didn't get the memo, The Palin baby is a great thing! Bristol Palin is wonderful, the baby is wonderful, pre-marital sex by teenagers is wonderful, abstinance-only sex ed is wonderful, and this in no way conflicts with fundie ideological stances....

    Understand?

I need to go outside, my head is spinning just writing that...
  • Mikki --SE Pennsylvania · 1 year ago
tlsintx: Perphaps, but they will be sober in the morning and the Palin disaster will still be in their laps in all its expanding technicolor horror.
Not only is McShame no longer speaking for the campagn, he is not even the one making the big decisions. If it were not so nauseating, it would be funny.
  • Rob Mule · 1 year ago
Really though, all boas and closeted queens aside, who could compete with Aretha in the audience and Senator Obama singing "Change, chage, change..." this afternoon at a Labor Day rally in Detroit???
  • LawMichigander · 1 year ago
I didn't see any cake though.
  • bigtimepatriot · 1 year ago
C'mon now, why do you think they are CALLED Political "Parties" anyway?

Is Americablog now an official "anti-party" site?

After all, as some great American's once said, "You have to fight, for the right, to PAAARTY!"
